Tocca will launch the Aqua Profumata trio this month. The new scents are aimed at a younger customer looking for a light fragrance, and were inspired by the south of Italy.
Amalfi ~ featuring notes of cucumber, mint, apple, jasmine, violet leaves, lily of the valley, violet and musk.
Catania ~ with citrus, vanilla, muguet, jasmine and sandalwood.
Salina ~ with notes of clove, orange, green leaf, purple freesia, iris, peach, raspberry and musk.
Tocca Aqua Profumata Amalfi, Catania & Salina will be $38 for 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via wwd)
I don’t need any more light fragrances. Nor am I the youthful customer Tocca’s going for. But all of these sound great to me, just based on their possibly-deceiving notes… especially that Amalfi, call me a freak.
Mals: I thought it was just me in a Monday grump but I’m sick of this younger customer business too! When is somebody going to bravely stand up & say: Here’s one for you dangerous, 40+, bifocal-wearing babes out there? Heck, I’d HAVE to buy it!
I wear no bifocals (yet)… but I recently added a “fine wrinkles” cream to my nighttime rituals. Heck, yeah, we 40-something women deserve something good!
I’m learning to appreciate more, um, Womanly scents like Bal a Versailles and Rumba. But heck, even I need something light and refreshing from time to time… even if I do have a gazillion floofy citrus-florals in my wardrobe.
I wear multi-focals and I could be your mom–I’m in the “old lady” group that people use as an adjective to describe scrubbers. I’m WAY pissed that kids get all the attention of perfumers. Sophistication should count for something.
And if I want to smell like cucumber and mint, I’ll roll in a bowl of raita. Meanwhile, where’s a woman’s scent?
LOL — raita. Nice.
I must share your Monday grump…I find it annoying that one contains lily of the valley and another contains “muguet”.
…which of course are WILDLY different! hahahaha maybe they’re counting on that really young customer to be fooled…
Yeah, right! They’d better get up a little earlier next time!
I prefer not to label myself, because I’m very young at heart…or immature…ha!
They do sound like they would not be run of the mill. I love Tocca’s scents, though I don’t own a single one. I am thinking about Florence however.
LOL…that’s funny, I didn’t notice. Catania must be fancier 😉
It certainly *sounds* fancier than the salad that is Amalfi! (Now watch it be fabulous, and I’ll have to eat my words.)
LOL @ Suzanne’s comment – I was about to post something to that same effect, but you beat me to it. So many things these days are geared toward us ‘baby boomers’ – why not perfume? Don’t they know that we’re a lucrative bunch? 😉
They don’t sound bad at all (except the cucumber, which probably counts me out for Amalfi) but we’ll see…Tocca hasn’t yet made a scent I love.
I would buy Florence, if it had just a wee more spice…hum, cinnamon, ginger, amber, musk, or something. It’s the only white floral that interest me.
I must correct myself. I am buying Marc Jacob’s Gardenia Splash sight unseen. It just sounds wonderful and not heady.
Cucumber can be very refreshing if done right. I rather like the sound of all of these but although Amalfi is a bit salad-ish I think it could be the most summery one. The price is definitely right for a splash!
Hey, Amalfi is the one that sounds good to me for a summer spritzer!
I never pretended to be sophisticated…
Can’t beat that price if one of them ends up being a refreshing summer spritzer, along the lines of Guerlain AAs.
Very true, esp. since I hear this year’s AAs are so very dull (lazy & haven’t even checked them out yet)
The Cherry Blossom was a definite pass, but I thought the Tiare/Mimosa was actually rather nice. The sillage and lasting power were way better than I expected, too. If it came in a smaller bottle, maybe…
Thanks! I’ll get myself over to Sephora eventually & check them out.
Hey Robin what do you think of the Marc Jacob splashes? I want the Rain one. Have you sniffed any of them?
alotofscents: For what it’s worth, I bought a big (and cheap) decant of the Pear splash. After 15 seconds of nice, I think it smells cheap. Very cheap. I use it as airfreshener. When I’m desperate.
I have not liked any of the Marc Jacobs Splashes.
Lucky , you all have Sephora on site. Wichita has nothing but Dillards and Von Marr. They have two counters with a hodge-podge of things. Tocca isn’t one of them.
I think these new ones will also be at Anthropologie — do you have that store?
I wouldn’t mind trying to roll back the years with Catania!
Perhaps it will work for you 🙂
