Luxury fabric care line The Laundress has introduced a new detergent scented with Le Labo Rose 31:
Not since the invention of the original washing machine has a new creation changed the grandeur of the clothing care experience. The Laundress New York & Le Labo Fragrances have united to blend the finest in modern perfumery with the best performing detergent formula in a new laundry product that will refine the standard art of washing clothing. The Le Labo Rose 31 detergent is $45 for 16 oz, and can be found now at Beautyhabit. (via beautyhabit)
I can see the pros and cons in this one…if you regularly wear Le Labo Rose this would be wonderful: going somewhere special so you're wearing your favorite sweater/lingerie/blouse/dress that is scented the same as your fragrance…
but you'd want to watch that you didn't wear the scented clothes with another fragrance that clashed in an unfortunate way. It's never good to have people near you wrinkle their brow and say “what's that smell?” .
Back to the scented delicates—that might be real nice. hmmm, might have to visit our friends at the Beautyhabit….
It's true…would only be useful if you wore Rose 31 as a signature scent. Fun idea though!
i don't wear any Le Labo scents but the thought of slipping into rose scented sheets is very enticing…..or even my pj's!
i adore this concept. maybe not for everything, and at over $50 canadian for a bottle it really would just be for special items. maybe scarves & the like. what a lovely idea.
Definitely, this would be nice for sheets and towels, but I wouldn't use it for my clothes. Besides, my husband would probably not appreciate his uniforms smelling of roses. 😉
You know–this idea has merit—slipping into scented sheets does sound nice—I might try this: use unscented detergent for laundering then use some frag.-free softener but mix in a few drops of perfum oil or essential oil then add to last rinse…bet you could have sheets any scent you wanted….good idea? probably a lot less expensive than 45 for 16 oz.
It might not work but I think I'll give it a try.
but the other guys at work might !! 😉
3xasif, it isn't really a rose scent though!
Boojum, it isn't really a rose scent, and it's marketed to men, not women. Doesn't mean your husband will necessarily like it though, of course!
Rose 31 isn't a rose scent?? why are they messing with our heads this way?????
must go dig thru my sample basket….there must be a Le Labo scent in there somewhere….how can I trust them though? their names are so misleading…
okay, this is so far off the topic, it can't even SEE the topic…but since y'all are here maybe someone has advice…
I'm looking for a source for a high quality shea butter…my daughter has VERY sensitive, but very dry skin. We are looking desperately for something that won't make her itch or break out in red splotches. I keep reading that shea butter is like a miracle for problem skin people. Any suggestions?
Their naming convention: the note in the name is the one in the highest concentration (which isn't always the one it smells most of) and the number is the number of notes.
A detergent in which to wash your clothes, so that they smell ripely animalic? This sounds more like a conceptual art project than a commercial product! It is kind of a cool idea – not that I would ever use it.
It can be very hard to find things that won't irritate sensitive skin. . .. Whole Foods carries a brand of 100% Shea butter that I've found very good (no scent, no preservatives, no colors, no solvents), from the Now personal care line (in a 7-oz plastic purple jar; be sure to get the pure shea butter rather than the shea butter lotion). It's about $8 or $9 a jar, but it lasts forever. Put it on just before bedtime, because it can be a little greasy. Hope it helps!
thanks bergere, I will go look at it. she can't use any lotion with fragrance or botanicals or….well the list is long. I'm thinking that unrefined with nothing added might do the trick. $8 or 9 or 20—is nothing compared to things we've tried and eventually palmed off on friends! (we have very moisturized friends!)
LOL…yes, it does, but I adore this scent. Rather have a bottle of the perfume though, since I don't want to wear it all the time.
goodness, ok i should have remembered how tricky Le Labo is….so what does Le Labo Rose 31 smell like?
i'll check some reviews! *feels silly*
ok! no cumin in my sheets please! oy, i wash them to be rid of body odours! sadly i am a cumin wimp and cannot handle skank of any kind. what an odd scent to make a laundry soap out of.
maybe it is more of an artistic concept as another poster mentioned. haha i feel so silly! thinking it was rose *smacks forehead*
I am usually a cumin wimp too, but I really like the Rose 31.
While I love scented laundry, I can't do cumin on bed linens. I've got too many memories of my grandmother's lavender & rosemary-scented toiletries.
Daisy – this is a VERY delayed response, but I wanted to add that I've always found the shea butter products by Mistrial to be very high quality. If she can tolerate any fragrance, they also have very nice smelling stuff!
AA, thank you for the response, I will check out Mistrial…they have a website I assume. I spent hours googling shea butter and reading all about this and that etc….mostly seemed like each site wanted to warn you away from other sites!! Thought it might be best to stick with an American based site, but that's no gaurantee either! Also don't want to pay $20 for 2 oz !
Thanks again, I'll go find their stuff and give it a look. 🙂
Here's a link to their site http://www.mistralsoap.com/
I mistyped before (mistrial vs mistral), glad I checked back in. I personally think they're reasonably priced and I've never had trouble finding them. Their bar soaps are also lovely (and also have shea butter)
wow, your timing is phenomenal…..before I got to do any checking, I had to go fix dinner, throw over a load of laundry etc etc etc…I just sat back down to look up 'mistrial' and here you are just in time to save me untold frustration….(google probably would have corrected for me) but it is lovely of you to take the time to help me.
The best non-irritating soap we have found (thru a dermatologist) is Suave daily cleansing shampoo—I know, a shampoo–she recommended it because all the botanicals and dyes etc. in most shampoos made my daughters scalp itch like crazy…so we started using the shampoo found it worked like a miracle –itching stopped right away—then we realized that maybe all the additives and whatnot in soap was making our skin itch…so we started using the Suave as a shower gel too….great stuff and who can beat $1.79 for 20 oz ????
