Boots has launched a duo of new fragrances to benefit BBC's Children in Need 2008 campaign:
Summon up the memories of idyllic childhood moments! The purchase of Hug will help to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. For every bottle purchased, Boots will donate £3.50 to BBC Children in Need.
Hug for Her (shown) ~ "...brings to mind warm towels at bathtime with a hint of baby powder."
Hug for Him ~ "... is reminiscent of pencil shavings and sticky cola sweets mixed up in your pencil case."
Hug for Her and Hug for Him are £10 each for 30 ml Eau de Toilette. (via boots, found via prlog.org)
I like those descriptions! For £10, I think I could run to both of these.
Seriously, that Hug for Him sounds pretty darned compelling to me!
I hate pencils. That second one sounds revolting to me, lol.
um..
I kind of want the For Him one based on the description?
To each his own, of course! I love pencil smell, although can't imagine how it goes with cola — but I'd like to know 🙂
If these turn out not to be great, I would just as soon give them the tenner…
OK, sniffed. The For Her is a sweet, floral vanilla musk, actually quite attractive and well worth the price. It also lasts well. The For Him was 'masculine' – that generic woody thing – but gentle and pleasant and perfectly wearable by girls. They both come with a little teddy bear charm. You could spend a lot more than a tenner and get something less pleasing than these. A very good Christmas present for the teenagers in your life, I'd say.
So For Him is more “generic man smell” than “pencil + cola”? Not so completely compelling to me then, but I'm sure you're right that you could do worse for the money!
Popped into Boots on the way to work today and saw these so gave the *for her* a squirt. Am sniffing it now – it really is very cute – Britney/Mariah/Paris/Christina take note – you could do a lot worse than release something like this. And for a tenner you get a pretty hefty bottle's worth – and Pudsy bear is so cute :-). Am def. thinking about buying one for my stepdaughter – it's gotta be better than the Charlie Red she got in a party bag!!!
Sounds worth trying, thanks!
