Bath & Body Works is introducing a new fragrance in their Signature Collection, Vanilla Noir. It launches online later this month, but reportedly will not officially launch in stores until December.
A hypnotic blend of dark vanilla bean, black amber and exotic spices, our newest signature scent shows vanilla's sultry side.
The website does not yet list the fragrance notes for the Eau de Toilette, but the notes listed for the Shower Gel and Body Lotion include Madagascar vanilla, dark vanilla bean, black plum, bergamot and warm musk. I'll update when more information is available. [Update: here are the "official" notes: black plum, dark berries, bergamot, gardenia, carnation, vanilla orchid, tuberose, vanilla, whipped toffee, cinnamon, cashmeran, sandalwood and musk.]
Bath & Body Works Vanilla Noir will be available in 30 and 75 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching body products. (via bathandbodyworks)
Other recent launches from Bath & Body Works: Rainkissed Leaves, Black Amethyst.
I like the combo of amber, vanilla and spices but sometimes BBW's scents are too sharp on me. I've been wearing Montale's Patchouli Leaves a lot lately, it sounds like they might be very similar, perhaps PL has less spice?
Montale has Patchouli leaves combined with vanilla, amber and white musk on a base of Cystus ladaniferus.
Guessing that the BBW will be much, much sweeter than the Montale, but haven't smelled it.
I'm looking forward to this one for a change. Their past launches this year have not interested me. There's also alot of buzz from the SA's that they like it more than the other scents and think it will out sell Japanese Cherry Blossom.
I am sure it will be good! They might not have fragrances that are too complex, but a lot of their scents, especially new launches, are simple yet very nice.
And no patch in the BBW, which would be removing the central element of the Montale, I think.
LOATHE cherry blossom, my 12yo is obsessed with it. On the other hand I wear Brown Sugar and Fig so not preaching from the moral high ground.
I dunno … assuming it doesn't kill us with sugar it might not be a half bad comfort scent.
I've kind of given up on BBW, I think…they really just haven't made anything I've wanted to own in a very long time. Just not my style, I guess.
Nothing wrong w/ simple but nice, but for me, that's L'Occitane. I think BBW just isn't “me” or something…I did spend some time there recently trying all the new stuff, and didn't like any of them.
Hey, I like Coconut Lime Verbena so won't take any moral high ground either…but haven't liked anything else from BBW so I'm not going to run try this one. If it's great, you'll tell me!
I really like L'occitane as well. They have some nice smelling stuff, easy to wear, and a little more complex than B&BW actually. I really lime L'occitane's Rose scented products.
Do you think they're more complex? I don't know. I think they're just a different style, generally not quite so sweet or strong.
I haven't tried anything from BBW in years, but this appeals to me. I love the bottle, very classic and understated looking. I will definitely try it.
They're using that bottle for the whole signature collection now — much nicer than the old one.
I am quite interested to try this one. I generally wear BBW's stuff on a daily basis (Japanese Cherry Blossom and Black Amethyst) and save my other “expensive” perfumes for special days. I like to have a secent that lasts everywhere on my skin all day, and when you use the same scented shower gel, lotion, splash, then perfume it really does last all day, and not just on my wrists and neck.
Hope it will work for you then 🙂
Vanilla Noir has many of my favorite notes and I have been stalking the local B&BW for a sniffie. I sampled this body lotion today, in the new curvey bottle, and I adore the scent. DH says “That's a good one for work. It smells professional but approachable”. Nicely complex for such an inexpensive scent and it is not as sugary sweet as you might expect from the fruity floriental description. It reminds me quite a bit of Cristobal, actually.
The saleswoman said it was due to be released Dec.1, as she placed the lone bottle back behind the counter where it waits for the next perfumista to ask for it by name, I suppose! I am really looking forward to it!
If you're in a rush, you can buy it online already!
So we can! Thank you so much for the notice!
just got the new Vanilla Noir scent today and I must say it is not sweet or candyish… it is however very much like a perfume scent and not a bbw scent I think it will be well recived to the 25 and up crowd …. I am a vanilla girl and it is not your typical vanilla scent…
Thanks, sounds nice!
