Seven Skies is a new niche perfume brand founded by Phoebe Ellis, along with perfumers Natasha Cote and Irina Burlakova, and designer Radim Malinic:
Seven Skies encompasses a spirited traveler's dedication to creating innovative luxury fragrances inspired by world travel.
Each scent consists of notes that rekindle sensations evoked from destinations near and far, all captured in an exquisitely feminine bottle.
The line debuts with four fragrances:
Belle Histoire (shown) ~ "French for beautiful story, the name is commonly used to describe a love story. The fragrance name was inspired by the song Une Belle Histoire by French artist, Michel Fugain." Belle Histoire is a floral gourmand with fresh spring leaves, rose, lily, lilac, muguet, freesia, white chocolate, sweet almond and creamy pistachio.
Chelsea Girls ~ "Chelsea Girls is a tribute to the fashionable and fun-loving girls of Chelsea, as well as a reference to the Andy Warhol film." The modern chypre includes notes of apricot, lily of the valley, peony, rose, cassis, patchouli and amber.
Free Love ~ "The fragrance name refers to the fast and powerful friendship that develops and evolves between traverlers during their journeys." The marine floral features light marine accords, champaca, exotic fruit, coconut water, black pepper, rose, and night-blooming jasmine.
Lalita ~ "Lalita is the Hindu goddess of bliss and beauty. Her name means ‘she who plays’ and she is said to inspire desire in all of creation." Lalita is a woody floral with chai spices, orange, mandarin, sandalwood, tuberose, incense smoke, lilac root, vetiver and patchouli.
Seven Skies Belle Histoire, Chelsea Girls, Free Love & Lalita are $68 each for 100 115 ml Eau de Parfum. They can be pre-ordered now at b-glowing for shipping in early November. (via sevenskiesbeauty)
Is it me or that bottle looks like aTocca bottle?
It looks like a very inhomogeneous collection of four scents with even more inhomogeneous names.
It does now that you mention it. I might be interested in trying Chelsea Girls.
That bottle does look like a Tocca bottle, but I will forgive them because I love the purple ribbon. 🙂
Anyway, let me know if you test these and what you think, R. A couple of them look rather intriguing.
Hugs!
Well, yes, but having a hard time believing Tocca was the first to use such a bottle. Can't think of who did though, so should keep my mouth shut 🙂
I think they're another “inspired by world locations” sort of line. BH is Paris, Chelsea Girls is London, Free Love is a Thai beach resort, Lalita is India. Sort of like what Memo is doing, and what L'Artisan does in their Travel series, yadda yadda yadda.
Chelsea Girls sounds really pretty.
Will do!
Lalita sounds interesting to me. Speaking of chai…I had some of a lovely chai, ginger organic chocolate bar from Dagoba yesterday. I couldn't find the rose 'goo' bar at my Cost Plus, but found some others that sound equally tasty.
I would like to sample them all (both chocolate and these scents), but then there isn't much I don't want to sample. :~)
I don't think I've had that Dagoba, but have a nice pile here ready to taste: Lime, Lemon-ginger, Eclipse, and one I've already eaten many times & loved: the Dagoba Nibs bar.
I will look for those also. I love ginger and chocolate…lemon-ginger is a must try for me. Will have to try the Nibs too, if it is one of your favorites. I agree with much of your perfume taste, so why not see if we have similar taste in chocolate?
Why not 🙂
And reminds me I need to do another chocolate post soon, it's been a long time.
They all sound nicely done. The bottles don't look as expensive as Tocca to me. I wonder: What type of incense? I hope it leans more towards Demeter Incense (sharp) rather than D's Holy smoke (church or hippie incense). And what is chai spices? Does orange mean orange blossom or orange? and the same with mandarin? Do they need two different oranges? And is Lalita Lolita's older sister?
They all smell like possible loves, esp. Lalita.
I must get samples. I like how they are mostly ubiquitous notes arranged with a little imagination.
Joy,
Becca
Orange usually means the citrus unless they specify the blossom; chai spices can vary but might include cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, star anise, garam masala, etc etc.
