In conjunction with the upcoming film La Môme (La Vie en Rose) about French singer Edith Piaf, Balmain will launch a new perfume, La Môme. The scent was created by perfumer Guillaume Flavigny and is an oriental floral with notes of Rose de Mai, freesia, violet and amber.
The 50 ml Eau de Parfum will be 49€ and will be exclusive to Marionnaud in France. (via aufeminin)
Update: other notes for La Môme include pink pepper, raspberry, myrrh, iris, musk and opopanax. (via osmoz)
Update 2: look for La Môme to go into wider distribution in March, in both 50 and 100 ml. (via Women's Wear Daily)
*Want*. But I can't find a number to call on the Marionnaud site to ask if they ship to the US and although my French pronunciation is truly scary/amusing, I'm more comfortable calling than writing in French. If they don't ship, I'm just praying that some entrepreneurial type in France will buy some up to sell on ebay.
Why not try writing them in English & see what happens?
And hard to believe it won't end up on ebay 🙂
2nd *Want* ! 🙂 Freesia note scares me, I won't lie…but still, love the idea of the scent so much.
Don't know why, but the movie is interesting me more than the perfume. Too bad Balmain doesn't have anything more about this on their website yet though…why do perfume companies not take advantage of their own websites to advertise their products??
I did find this one:

good luck!
Hello Robin,
Just tried La Mome for the very first time and it is certainly a fragrance from the time when Edith Piaff was famous. La Mome stands on itself, doesn't quite match in nowadays flow of scents.
It is a classic for sure and I can imagine Grace Kelly wearing it.
I would call it a Millefloriental. The sillage is very feminine and sweet.
I'm not a perfume reviewer so I cannot refer to all te notes, but they are in there for sure.
Hope this one will make it to the US eventually, but Balmain is not well distributed here.
Find their website totally inaccessible. Nothing is happening there, no information is being presented. People almost have to come to Paris to get something done, let alone smell one of their fragrances.
Their PR could use a little boost.
Very few fragrance companies have caught on the importance of sharing information online, unfortunately.
