Pierre Cardin will launch a new duo of fragrances, Pierre Cardin Pour Homme and Pierre Cardin Pour Femme, this coming September. Perfumer Benoist Lapouza developed both scents, which share a common note of Pink Lady apple.
Pierre Cardin Pour Homme features notes of bergamot, lemon, melon, pineapple, cinnamon, juniper, jasmine, lavender, orange blossom, cedar, sandalwood, ebony, amber and tonka bean.
Pierre Cardin Pour Femme includes Pink Lady apple, blackcurrant, lily of the valley, violet, patchouli, sandalwood, caramel and nectarine.
Pierre Cardin Pour Homme and Pierre Cardin Pour Femme will be available in 50 ml. (via fashionmag.fr)

I love the original Cardin for women, and vintage bottles still pop up from time to time. I was ready to yawn at these two new releases – you know I don't have much love for fruity-florals 🙂 -but somehow these seem like they might actually work. I shudder at thoe pink and blue bottles, though.
I'm somewhat curious yet apprehensive about the mens' version. Perhaps a modern release would be pleasing but the original was just so unbearable that I couldn't see buying this blind (which I often love doing). Also, it's nice having the notes listed, but that doesn't always tell the whole story, as I'm sure you've noticed. Someone whose opinion about fragrance I value and respect (you may have heard of him- he's Marlen Harrison of PerfumeCritic.com fame) says that the P.C. Centaure series is underrated. I'm actually more curious about those than this new product.
I really don't like apple in perfume, so no hope for me with these, I'm afraid 🙂
Of course I've heard of Marlen, he used to write for Now Smell This. And he may be right about the Centaures scents, I've never tried a one of them.
