Boy, just what we needed. I was just thinking that there just aren't enough fruity-floral, beachy scents out there… do they have their finger on the pulse of society or what?!
Kelly Caleche, WHERE ARE YOU??!!!!
*dumps can of fruit cocktail onto bowlful of gardenias, dresses with suntan oil, garnishes with sand* There. Dig in.
I am very surprised at how many beach scents we're getting this year! Fruity florals, on the other hand, no surprise there.
Nwah everyone is being too mean. I bought the Exotic Floral scent today and even though it was a wildly overpriced $65 at Kit Cosmetics (an Aussie boutique) I fell head over heals. There is a hint to beach about this, but more so it reminded me of a subtle, old fashioned scent – something I imagine to be a sheer version of 1950s chic, or the very best extract of those ‘grandma’ scents that at once repel and appeal, except this only appeals. I tried several of the scents and they all dry down sweet, and sheer, but they really are rather lovely and unique scents – the amber, also quite sheer, was also yummy. I quite like this line!
Oh, yes, couldn't wait to try THREE more instantaneous releases of fruity florals. And a beach scent in June! How original! Let's add an aquatic salt scent–let's see, what would that be? Ummm. eau de flounder?
Thinking the same thing here. “Yet more Fruity Floral Beachy scents to whet our appetites?!!”
I'm so sick of this genre it's not funny. “NEXT!”
LOL at Eau de Flounder 🙂
The genre is now massively overcrowded, but people must keep on buying them, right?
Very true or they wouldn't keep pumping them out like nobody's business. I guess one day in the future there'll be folks remembering “Ooo, I just used to love wearing Paris Hilton's scent and it's no longer made. That makes me feel sooooooooo sad! I found it on Ebay and they are asking $500 a bottle for it!” LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
I have actually tried Floral Exotique! I am pleased you guys have this now in the US because when I got it a month ago from http://www.myvanitycase.com I could not find a reference anywhere else in Google. I think it is a very lovely fragrance and I also purchased Floral Sensuel for a friend. My fav perfume is Monyette Paris though. Is there anything I should try that is similar and not available here in Blighty? Thanks! Wonderful blog this by the way, what a discovery! 🙂
True enough!
Thanks, and welcome! There are lots of nice gardenia scents, so depends on what you're after. Kai is a greener gardenia, and then there are all sorts of other beachy tropical scents: Coquette Tropique (by the same co. as MP), Estee Lauder Azuree Soleil, Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Bonnie (if she still makes that one), Child, Andre Gas Ensoleille Moi, to name a few.
Thanks for the reply! Yes I like Kai too and I wish they did MP as an eau de parfum, I don't like roll ons that much. You seem to be so well informed, do you happen to know if MP will be available as a EDT or EDP soon?
Cheers, have a great week
Sorry, I've no idea! They ought to, I understand the Kai EdP is doing very well.
