Miller Harris has launched a new fragrance in the Nouvelle Edition collection, Fleurs de Sel:
Fleurs de Sel is a deeply sensual and earthy fragrance, with an interesting air of leather adding the final note to this masterpiece. It is a personal interpretation of a small village in Brittany called Batz sur Mer where Lyn Harris has a family home and has spent some of her happiest times.
Earthy top notes of red thyme oil, rosemary and clary sage are bound with wild flowers of iris nobilis, narcisse flowers, rose and a hint of ambrette seed, finally blending them on a base of woods, vetiver grass and moss with a note of leather.
Miller Harris Fleurs de Sel is an Eau de Parfum, and is £95.00 for 100 ml. (via Miller Harris website) If Fleurs de Sel sounds perfect and you've got some extra cash to spare, right now 20tobuy (a store that only carries 20 items at a time, all limited editions and unique to the store) has a special limited edition version in 30 ml Parfum, in a (lovely!) hand-engraved bottle nestled in a "bag of black velvet and presented in a stunning bespoke black lacquered box", £500, only 15 were produced.
Guess will launch a new fragrance for men, Guess Suede:
The scent, an eau de toilette — which blends bergamot, tangerine and pineapple top notes with lavender, sage and nutmeg middle notes and vetiver, sandalwood, suede and mahogany base notes — was composed by Givaudan perfumer Ellen A. Molner.
Guess Suede will be in 50 and 75 ml and in matching grooming products. (via Women's Wear Daily) Other recent launches from Guess: Guess Gold.
The MH sounds like it has real potential, but I'm wary of sage and rosemary in scents, so it's definitely one to sniff first – I'll hold off purchasing that LE parfum unsniffed. As if. 🙂 But very interesting store. I definitely don't do real fur, but a fur hammock…fascinating. If it were fake fur and if I could only find a generous oligarch, I'd be getting it. Tacky, but fun.
After l'Air de Rien, I'm not planning to rush to sample Fleurs de Sel. lAdR was one of the most repugnant juices I've ever inflicted on my skin (I'm stunned at the postive reviews it gets). I'm still waiting for the Miller Harris that really hits the spot for me.
I kind of like the sound of the Guess one, though.
Have to admit the Fleurs de Sel does not appeal to me, but the LE bottle is really just gorgeous, and yes — cool store! And the MH is a comparative bargain over there, LOL!
I got to try Fleurs de Sel last weekend, and I remember it being earthy and leathery indeed…and I liked it very much. However, by that time, I was pretty sniffed out, and so I would definitely love to try it again…
I did not hate it, but didn't find it as interesting as I hoped either. In general, most of the Miller Harris scents are done in a style that doesn't suit me. Do like a few of them though.
What a fun website! When (not if, I believe in the power of positive thinking) I win the lottery, I'll be picking up on that marvelous silver-handled briefcase, as well as one of those ultrachic fountain pens to carry in it.
What a fun place to window shop.
I hope to try it eventually myself 🙂
Isn't it? Better than most, and I actually like the idea of limiting the number of items.
I was Hawaii in January and the hotel my husband and I stayed in had a bathroom full of Miller Harris. I was so excited that each day after breakfast, I would sneak out in the hall and look for the maid cart. You know…the cart with all the goods? Anyway, I took home so much of this stuff and even had my husband pilfering. No, I don't feel guilty because that hotel charged for shaded lawn chairs! Back to the point…I got home with my stash and wouldn't you know it…I don't even really care for it….
anyone tried guess suede? i love guess man, “da bomb.” 😉 i love the smell of nutmeg, but i wonder what this guess suede is like…if its as good, or better than, guess suede, i think they have something going! its already on amazon and i have a bottle in my cart 😉 but i'm not clicking order just yet…
Do you know which scent it was, or was it something specially done for the hotel? I do like a couple of her lighter florals, but in general her style is much heavier than I like.
Not me, haven't even seen it anywhere in person yet, sorry!
It is Fleur de Matin. It isn't terrible or anything like that. It is just that you would think I would love it for the amount of work I put in taking all of it home. They gave everything to the line except the candle.
Oh — that is one of the two I really like from the line, sorry you don't! But haven't tried anything other than the perfume, so don't know how it is in those other products.
