Parfums M Micallef has launched Red Sea, a new fragrance for men in the Les 4 Saisons collection:
Martine Micallef’s latest creation, RED SEA, continues the great success of the bestselling fragrance BLACK SEA which was previously without rival as a product for men in the remarkable “Les 4 Saisons” collection.
RED SEA is again an outstanding, extravagant male fragrance. Its exotic cinnamon head note is complemented by the unusual heart essences of rose and iris and the woody base of sandalwood and musk, creating a profound and unambiguously masculine perfume.
Micallef Red Sea is €110 for 100ml Eau de Parfum. (via M Micallef)
Profumi di Pantelleria has launched Tanit, a new fragrance for women named for the moon goddess and patroness of Carthage. The musky floral scent includes notes of passionfruit, apricot, violet leaves, basil, ginger, saffron, iris, jasmine, osmanthus, magnolia, peony, vetiver, patchouli, cedar and musk. (via cale.it)
Best selling Black Sea? Huh. I'm afraid I missed it. But Red Sea sounds like something I'd adore. However, George has neither Red or Black. I called Fortnum and Mason which you had listed as carrying them. They have both Red and Black, but they're 100 ml and they're only allowed to ship up to 30 ml. Insanity. Do you have any idea where else these might be available?
Just called FiF and they said they are “thinking” about it. Sounded quite indefinite. Sigh.
I think I've missed several releases from this brand…they really don't seem to be widely distributed, and actually, Luckyscent only has 2 of the scents in stock which makes me wonder if they're going to drop the line? No ideas other than to email Micallef and ask.
I’ve sampled both Red Sea and Black Sea and am completely enamored with both. I especially adore Red Sea and have never smelled anything like it. It is in turn spicy, feral and soothing. I can’t say enough good things about it and yet I struggle to find the right words to describe it.
Black Sea is lovely but very similar to a scent I already love and own, DK Wenge. I LOVE that pencil shavings accord. Really. I vividly remember sniffing the pencil sharpeners in grade school and that note exists in both BLACK SEA and Wenge. Black Sea being a bit drier perhaps than Wenge, and quite a bit more expensive.
I haven’t tried the Blue or Yellow Sea scents yet and would love to get someone else’s opinion of them.
