A flame inside a beautiful cobalt glass on my dresser unleashes not only a blue tinged soft light, but also a wonderful scent. The fragrance is tart and crisp with enough sweetness to lend a nice balance and to meld all the notes together. One moment, it is a plate laden with grapefruit slices sprinkled with sugar and lemony coriander seeds; the next, it is a bouquet of garden herbs about to be chopped in the course of dinner preparations.
The fruity scent of the Grapefruit and Rosemary candle was my introduction to the Floris room fragrance range. Floris candles are among my favourites — clean burning, potently scented and long lasting. I also have the room spray in Grapefruit and Rosemary, which is true to the scent of the candle, but it does not seem to remain as long in the air. Both come in elegant cobalt blue glass containers.
The Floris Grapefruit and Rosemary candle is $45 for a 6 oz jar, or $35 for four 1 oz votives; the room spray is $25 for 100 ml. For buying information, see the listing for Floris under Perfume Houses.
Nice description, Victoria! You make me want one of these cobalt glasses.
Oh lovely review. I do not favor grapefruit in my fragrances but do love the smell of it in candles. Long-lasting and potent sound good to me. This one sounds wonderful, V. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
To be honest, cobalt glass was the main reason I bought a candle. 🙂 Only later did I realize what a terrific candle it was!
F, thank you. I think that you might like this one, because it is not bitter and tart, but sweet and zesty. Rosemary is a very soft backdrop.
Sounds lovely… I keep hoping I will spot the deals on the Floris auxilliary products that other folks are finding at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. (I've already spent too much on Floris this year to rationalize any additional stuff from them… unless it's at a discount, of course, LOL.)
I am always jealous hearing stories of amazing finds at TJ Maxx. I have never been very successful, but it is probably because I do not shop there that often. Will be on a lookout for Floris.
