It is Friday and I’ve decided to give my brain (and my wallet) a rest, so here are some brief impressions of the Body Waters from Korres, the Greek brand of natural bath and skincare products. The Body Waters are light fragrances that are described as "half perfume, half toner". They are reasonably priced and I would guess that they are targeted at a fairly young audience. I recently tried two of them:
Lemon Basil is a nice, zesty lemon with a touch of basil. It is very fresh and tart, and it is just as well that Korres has replaced the old glass tube packaging with plastic, as it is also very short lived – you will have to take it with you and refresh frequently. It is a fun scent, and nice pick-me-up for a hot day.
Vanilla Cinnamon starts out candied cinnamon, rather like Red Hots, with a slight woody undertone. It gets sweeter and more vanillic as it fades, but is otherwise essentially linear. It does last longer than the Lemon Basil. A warning: cinnamon is a potent skin allergen, so you might want to dry a few drops before you spray with abandon.
Other fragrances in the line include Citrus, Nutmeg, Bitter Almond, Mint Tea, Coriander and Cedar. I am especially interested in the Nutmeg and Coriander fragrances, which sound perfect for layering, so please comment if you've tried them. The body waters run $18 for 2.5 oz. There are also body oils available, and perhaps they last longer?

Tomorrow: Jo Malone Vintage Gardenia
These are terrific everyday scents that come in a full range of Bath and Body lines. I love the fact they're natural and eco-friendly — not tested on animals etc. Paul and Heather McCartney are huge endorsers of this line. I have tried the bitter almond and it is wonderful. It goes well with anywarmer perfume — my favorite to wear with is KM Loukoum or Ferragamo. I haven't tried the nutmeg but wonder how it would smell in comparison or companion scent to Jo Malone Nutmeg.
Thanks, will have to look for the bitter almond. I thought these were supposed to be in Sephora now but I haven't seen them there.
