Giorgio Armani has launched La Femme Bleue, a new limited edition perfume for women. The name comes from Armani's spring/summer 2011 fashion and beauty collections, and the scent joins the Armani Privé collection.
An image, an inspiration, like an invitation to travel. The Tuareg woman, a blue nomad crossing the desert… Giorgio Armani pays tribute to her through a unique perfumed trio of iris, chocolate and incense. Producing 1000 numbered bottles in the world for 1000 exceptional women.
La Femme Bleue was developed by perfumer Serge Majoullier; additional notes include vanilla.
Giorgio Armani La Femme Bleue is available now at Selfridges in the UK, in 100 ml Eau de Parfum for £375. (via selfridges, additional information via vogue.it)
This sounds delicious, based on the assumption that the Armani treatment of iris + chocolate will be a lot less sweet than Guerlain’s. Iris Ganache makes my teeth hurt. But 375 Pounds? Bite me. (Am I allowed to say that?)
It does sound nice, but ditto on the Iris Ganache…I really did not like that one. (and yes, you can)
I didn’t like Iris Ganache at all either. This sounds lem worthy but I really dislike limited editions. Boo Hoo !
Is that woman walking through the desert with chocolate? And I have yet to see any Iris in the deserts in the mideast. On the other hand, is she can pay those prices for perfume, she’s probably isn’t tramping around in the hot sun.
🙂
Maybe it’s a typo. They meant dessert. A blue nomad crossing the dessert with chocolate.
He means for 1000 exceptionally rich women…
Obviously 🙂
I think my inner social outrage is coming out on this one. Let’s just give that “Tuareg woman” $600 (375 gpb) to improve her and her children’s lives. I find this concept very mean spirited and unusually opportunistic considering the social unrest and poverty most of these people live in. Go on and read the “Tuareg People” wikipedia page. I hope Armani is planning on giving some proceeds to the people.
Agree.
Yeah. I’m so used to this sort of thing I don’t even notice anymore.
I agree completely. The droughts in the Sahara and the progressive desertification have make these people’s lives really miserable.
Will it be available in the US?
I am sure there will be bottles here, but don’t know where. If I had to guess, I’d say Bergdorf / Neiman’s.
The name is great!
Nothing to have with this perfume, but check
http://www.prime-beaute.com/ for all the novelties to be released…
Still shoked by the forthcoming Jean Paul Gaultier “Kokorico”. :()
Cool site!!!
Nice site … and, yeah, Kokorico? The notes listed remind me of Matsushima chocolat mat. Sounds scary.
The name is the equivalent of “cock-a-doodle-doo” in French, and is supposed to show cockiness – har har – and braggadocio. Sorry if you knew that; I was assuming it was the name which shocked you. Shame there’s no date posted; I’m off to see (not the wizard, but) my mother in France at the end of the week and wouldn’t mind trying a cocoa-woody thing at Sephora, assuming that’s where it’ll be sold. I’ll look out for it anyway.
I’d probably wear it if a bottle fell into my lap, but I’ll have to stick with the “poor man’s version” and enjoy my Iris Ganache. Egads, I never thought I’d write ‘poor man’ and ‘Iris Ganache’ in the same sentence. The sad part is that I’d probably love this, too. 🙁
*sigh*
nifty, but still no rerelease of Armani?
Hello, this is L’Oreal, so no re-release!
The juice sounds delicious, but the name and colour of the bottle – Chanel, much?
I have mixed feelings about chocolate scents to begin with – my unreliable willpower does not need a constant reminder of chocolate. Also not sure I like the idea of iris, chocolate and incense together – seems like one too many diva notes. Still, I did really like Armani Privé Ambre Soie and Bois d’Encens, so I will sample this if I ever see it on TPC (while praying that I don’t like it).
I DO love S-Perfume 100% Love, a chocolate-rose scent, not at all heavy or sweet. And, wow, it now appears to be on sale for $90!!!
Where can be taken some small decant to test it ? Somebody knows ?
This sounds really good, but the price….ouch.
I tried it! It was very nice. I could detect a lovely Iris at the beginning, with a touch of chocolate like they said. It worked nice. Later on it became quite floral (i’m not yet able to differentiate many floral notes) and I liked it less. Which is neither here nor there consider the price. I’m attuned to Iris notes at the moment and looking to buy a fragrance that features it prominently, but this is about ten times what I’d pay for 50 ml! The sales assistant seemed used to overcoming sticker shock and pressed on valiantly, I’m sure she is doing very well with her little pitch (rare, exclusive, etc.)
Good to know, thanks!
