Roxana Illuminated Perfume has launched Rosa:
The fifth perfume in our series celebrating the aromatic landscape of the State of California is Rosa. Inspiration for this fragrance came when my friend introduced me to the native rose of California. The botanical name for this wild rose is Rosa californica, a five petaled deciduous shrub important to local wildlife.
Rosa is an earthy, warm, woodsy rose that develops into a rich rosey bouquet over time. It literally blossoms on the skin of the wearer.
This botanical perfume contains a rose accord, a very fresh Rose otto from Turkey and a deep, resonant Rose bourbonica absolute from India. Our grain and grape alcohol, as well as many of our essences are organic. This green, woody botanical perfume has been created by hand utilizing pure, plant essences.
Rosa is available in 7 g Parfum splash in a crocheted pouch; $95 at Etsy.
Rosa sounds lovely, but I really want her Q:
“Inspired by the glorious Coastal Oaks in the Santa Monica Mountains. Essences: Tinctured Oak leaves, Accords of Resin, Wood and Citrus.”
Author Tonie Silver says: “Q is an homage to Roxana’s beloved Oaks. Round like the great trunk, with dark, shady greens, and the sharpness of leaf points. An enveloping scent, one which encloses the wearer within its protective arms, er, branches.”
Sounds beautiful, and the name would always make me smile because I would think of the annoying Star Trek character of the same name.
That does sound really nice — love the smell of oak in SL Chene, but pretty sure I've never smelled the tinctured leaves.
