It’s Hump Day and National Chocolate Ice Cream Day. RIP Astrud Gilberto. Birthdays: Beau Brummell, Elizabeth Bowen, Gwendolyn Brooks, Dean Martin, Tom Jones, Liam Neeson, Louise Erdrich, Prince. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm taking community project points (and bonus points) in Hermès Eau de Néroli Doré.
Reminder: on 6/9 we're doing Adjectives Friday...wear a fragrance with an adjective in the name. Bonus points if the adjective is apt! Suggested by pyramus.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2023, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is detail from the Spring 2023 Astonishing Orange campaign from Hermès.
Oops…I meant to add that I am behind on comments. I have not yet finished reading Tuesday and may not catch up until tonight.
Love Louise Erdrich so much! 🎂
I sprayed something yesterday before heading into work but I’ll be danged if I can remember what the heck it was. I still smell great, but my brain is fried and I can’t place it. 😵💫
30 more minutes and I’m off for 8 days. It’ll take me at least five to recover.
A word to the wise: choose your health care surrogate very, very carefully. 😬
Oh, just remembered! Spiriteuse Double Vanille! 😍
Agree on the healthcare surrogate. Also make sure the surrogate knows your wishes and choose only one with a back up.
And yes, you do smell great in SDV!
Exactemente, mon ami!
Does this need to be in writing, lawyer-y?
Mr. AP heard that story about someone waking up from a coma 20 years later and says he would do that with me.
It needs to be in writing. Re: lawyerly – no legalese except for agreement of both parties.
Uh.. what is a health care surrogate?
Enjoy your days off!
The person who makes healthcare decisions for you, about you, in case you become unable to make decisions for yourself. Make sure they know EXACTLY what you do and done want: intubation, CPR, IV Fluids, Tube feeding, Meds for pain and anxiety, etc. It is so important to have this discussion, then put it in writing. Choose the person who will not be swayed by their own sadness, despair, and grief over your situation. Objectivity is key, and sometimes families are the worst choice. That person must unselfishly put aside their own wishes for you and ABIDE by your wishes for yourself. Choose this person wisely. ✌🏼
Also, pick someone with a backbone. My SIL was pressured by medical personnel to give care that her mother specifically stated she did not want. Your surrogate must know what you want and be prepared to fight for it.
Oh, I did something like that when I did my will but I think it was called something else.
Then I gave a copy to my doctors office.
If you’re not sure what it is, you should read it again. You can revoke it at any time and make sure you watch them replace it in your file.
I think it’s often referred to as medical power of attorney.
I didn’t know about health surrogates, something to think about, thank you.
I remember my brother and I setting that up when my Mom was moving into assisted living.
I finished In Five Years by Rebecca Serle-I like The Italian summer book better…but it was a “read in one sitting” type of book.
I put the Nightingale book on my shelf at the library. I am in line and number 73 so it must be popular. Thanks to whomever recommended-I will let you know when I get it.
Making oatmeal and French press coffee. Had a wonderful time at the Kips Bay Showhouse yesterday. Loved being surrounded by beauty-and it’s always fun to see the inside of a mansion in NYC.
Forgot to mention by SOTD -Memo’s Ilha do Mel. Was inspired to bring out my Memo after Robin posted that cute commercial with the animals.
I hope NYers today are staying safe today with all the smoke from the Canadian wildfires. My kids aren’t even having outdoor recess today at school. I am keeping the windows closed…
We are having smoke in Montréal too.
“Read in one sitting” is the only type of book I’ve had the energy for recently, though sometimes it’s more of a “read in one long bath.”
Long scented bath with a good book sounds great
Solo Adjective day three: Bulgari Black. It doesn’t seem as avant-garde as it did when it was launched, but I suppose nothing ever does, as whatever was new and different gets subsumed into the mass culture. But it’s still a fascinating scent — I like smelling of smoky tea and leather and rubber and vanilla—and the bottle is still great.
Scent sibling in their blue tea. We are both CP compliant since colours are adjectives. Oh, and I did a Weird Perfume sniff with my cousin and included the Black, and yes, nowadays it doesn’t too weird. In fact, it was beaten by Demeter’s Gingerale (“How is that a perfume?!”)
I’m pretty sure I’ve said, “How is that a perfume?!” myself, but, sadly, can’t remember about what.
I am going with black as well in Black Orchid. It’s maybe an odd choice for June but it’s cool enough to wear a sweatshirt so it’s cool enough for a heavy hitter.
I thought about Black Cashmere and decided it was too much for June, but I’m in a sweater right now so you did the right thing!
This morning was pleasantly cool. I’ll take it after last weeks heat!
I’m in Purple Fig today, which I’ve only worn once before. I generally dislike fig as a note, but along with Philosykos, I quite like this.
Is fig usually too…sticky for you?
I’m not sure what the issue is. Some fig fragrances are too lactonic for me, some are too sweet, and I guess some are too sticky. I also hugely dislike vanilla forward fragrances, I’m not a fan of osmanthus, and there are a few others. But primarily fig and vanilla just don’t work on my skin.
This might fit with the lactonic note but I often find that fig has a coconut note, which in my case I love, but I know many people don’t.
I happen to like figs all around..in my perfume..with some yogurt 🙂
Not a fan of fig/fig leaf in perfumes myself. There’s a bitterness to it that I really, really dislike, and I can’t say why, although I’m not necessarily opposed to bitterness.
(Figs in my food? yummm. My sister has a fig tree that she has named Figgie Smalls, and which grants her a handful of figs each year. I think it’s only four years old this summer, so maybe it’ll get in gear.)
I’m in Diptyque L’Eau Papiers from a Nordies sample…aaand kerplink. This is fun, but it’s just a like.
I had Tazo English Breakfast tea and avocado toast for breakfast, and then realized I have overnight oats that need to be eaten. So, that will be my lunch. This is one of the many things I like about being single: eating what I’m in the mood for. My divorce was finalized (finally) a little over a month ago, and I have my name back. It’s sad things had to end this way, but I’m at peace with it. I feel like my life has been put to rights.
Going through a separation from Mr. Mals at the moment myself. We’re doing counseling…finally got him to agree to that…but I think it is very much a case of Too Little, Way Too Late.
No matter how it turns out, I feel that I’m out of the weird what-to-do-with-my-life limbo that I was in, and part of that is rediscovering my own interests. I’m glad you’re embracing your rightful life, Nancy.
My ex refused counseling, so I understand your frustration. I also very much get the “why am I here and what do I want to do now?” inner conversation. I’m doing that, too.
The limbo part was the hardest for me. However it plays out for you, I really believe it will be the perfect outcome. Not without pain, but it will be worth it to get there. Sending you a hug.
The statistic I read when I was going through my last divorce said that people usually go to counselling three years later than they should have, and by then things are so degraded that often the marriage is no longer salvageable. But every man I’ve ever been with was adamantly opposed to counseling.
Sorry for the pain and uncertainty, but getting back into something for yourself is healthy.
Mr. AP and I have been through our patches and I always found myself better in spirits doing things I enjoyed previously.
I’ll toss in the big disclaimer that I am no peach to live with.
Good for you for being at peace with that decision!
With L’Eau Papiers, it did not quite hit the halfway point; perhaps because the anticipation just fizzled after actually trying it (smelling on a test strip)?
Thanks, hajusuuri!
Yeah, there wasn’t quite enough there, but the initial spray on skin was quite nice. I like light summer fragrances, but this didn’t really have enough punch.
Balancing the scales, marching to your own drum? Right as right Nancyleandros!
Funny you mention the scales, OFresca…I’ve managed to lose some weight over the past year. Gee, maybe I’m…um…happy?!?
That is so great–that you are feeling happy!!!!
Glad you came to the decision that was right for you and your life. Hugs
Thanks, ltsg. 🤗
Wishing you much happiness as you enjoy the freedom to do what you want, whenever you want, without comment or judgement. That’s what I enjoy most about being alone. I am still married, but since he chose to become a US resident, I now come to Montréal at the end of March and stay until the end of October, and he comes in May and leaves in September, so I have 2-3 months alone each year, which is how I wanted it.
I’m impressed with your arrangement, cazaubon. You had the self awareness to know what you needed and you asked for that. It sounds like both of you found a solution where you both get your needs met. I salute you!
I’m glad you are doing well Friend. 😊
Thank you, lillyjo. 🤗
Glad you have this good feeling about the divorce and yay for eating what you want, when you want.
Thanks Aurora!
I am glad to hear you are at peace with it now. Being one’s own boss can be a beautiful thing!
I’ve had my moments, but yes. It’s been a good thing.
Peace is a wonderful thing and with a divorce, kudos to you for claiming it.
Thanks, Annie!
Sad and relieved for you at the same time. Hugs.
I know, Jalapeno. Sadness and relief is a weird juxtaposition of feelings, isn’t it?
Very much so.
I was cleaning out my nightstand (which has all my perfume in it…and if the house ever caught fire when I was asleep, it would likely explode…) and found a box I’d never opened. Huh. What’s this?
Oh! It’s that bottle of JHaG Citizen Queen I bought a couple of years ago and promptly stashed away.
So that’s my SOTD. I wondered, before spritzing it, whether I would react to it the way I did when it was a new release and I only had a decant. Answer is: yes. Still pretty, still reading as very naughty on me.
How nice to find a whole bottle like that!
(And nice to see you, mals.)
I have thought before about my home office going up in flames with all these perfume bottles exploding. Ack.
Yes, good to see you birthday twin!🙌
I recently inquired here about Citizen Queen. Thanks for the info.
So you uncovered a literal “buried treasure”.
In Huile Prodigieuse Florale – fleeting but comforting.
Better than fleeting and not comforting, obviously!
Lempicka au Masculin first, then I took a shower in the afternoon and changed into Premier Figuier.
Thank you all for your sympathy. Last night was quiet, so we slept well this time.
And then I read about Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant’s destruction. As of now, no human deaths, but a lot of people became homeless. In one zoo nearly all animals died (except swans and ducks). This is heartbreaking. Also, Kherson region is important in terms of food supply for all Ukraine, so it is likely that availability and/or prices of some produce will be affected for all regions.
At least everyone seems to be helping the poor people of Kherson. I brought some clothes and soap as a small contribution. Some people offer accommodation. Red Cross is collecting money,
Glannys, I saw your post yesterday but too late to respond. Would you consider moving to a safer region? Is there even a safer region? Really, I can’t stand to even watch on the news. I can’t imagine living in the middle of it. Wish I had more than just useless words to help you and yours. Hugs to Kora, Mom and to you! 🐈⬛
I doubt there is a safer region. On our way back, we stayed in Lviv for one night (near Ukraine-Poland border), and there was an air alert that night. On one hand, Kyiv is a frequent target (being the capital and seat of government), on the other hand I feel it is one of the best defended places in Ukraine. And we are not in Kyiv, but in a suburb, which makes it safer. I do have a feeling that the war will last years, so I still plan to get out of the country again. I keep studying Swedish and coding and I enrolled in a Swedish mentorship program. I still have a feeling that things will not work out for me, but doing something is better than doing nothing.
And your words are not useless. Thank you for your support. 💗
I’m sure you’ve explored every avenue and it’s not a simple thing to pick up a life and move it elsewhere. I wish there was more we could do (both as individuals and as a country) to support you and others in the same situation. I continue to hope that things move in a less violent direction.
The weight, the sadness, and the tragedy you and your friends and family are dealing with are incalculable.
Ditto everything that Deva said.
So glad you could get some rest, hoping for an uneventful night again, and you smelled good all day.
A silver lining of a good night’s sleep.
I echo Deva’s thoughts, words and everything. My heart goes out to you.
Donations in America to the Red Cross will go to you? This is probably a really dumb question, but is there anyway to get clothing, supplies to you?
If you mean personally to me, then no. But it will hopefully go to people directly affected by Kakhovka disaster, and they actually need it now. For now, I have everything. 🥰
❤ Thankful you are ok.
And I will do whatever I can for the people that are struggling.
Pleased to hear that you had a peaceful night last night. But the pictures coming from Kakhovka are appalling and horrible.
I’m wearing Shalimar MVP this morning, and giving thanks that our air quality here is good (for now). Of course, if the winds shift, or new fires break out, we could be in the thick of it like last year. I’m hoping all of you east of me can minimize your exposure.
I am taking public transportation everywhere
Our quality here was terrible over the weekend. Today we are moderate, which my weather app tells me is an improvement from yesterday.
You smell great despite the smoke! No issues with air quality here so I’m surprised Portland is smokey. I’m meeting up with friends who flew into PDX from NC next weeK. Hope air quality improves. 🔥
The smoke blew into Vancouver overnight, too. We didn’t have any issues until this morning.
In Exit the King. Still recovering from four days of non-stop activities and hosting family events for my son’s graduation, and the three hour time difference. We had to arrive at the graduation venue around 8 AM, which is 5 AM here in Cali. Oooph, I don’t adjust well anymore to time changes! Also, didn’t get nearly enough time with him, but hope to remedy that with a visit later this month. All good. Just tired. 🙂
Yeah time changes are rough. How was the graduation? Does he know what’s next for him? Big congrats all around!🎉🎓
Yes, well at least for the summer, and then we shall see. He was offered an interesting internship with NASA in Houston. He is beginning the drive south today with all of his worldly possessions stuffed into his car. Lest you think he is some rocket scientist, his is not–his work will be related to the design of items that need to be sewn (I kid you not!).
Oh how exciting! Ah, youth.☺️ I remember packing all of my worldly possessions into my Honda civic.
Now is this the son who bought a sewing machine on his own? I vaguely remember that discussion.
Good for him! Well done, Oakland Grad!
One and the same. His degree is Industrial Design and he hopes to specialize in “soft” products and gear–hence the sewing machine. But goodness knows. Who among us is doing what we thought we would be doing? 🙂
How wonderful!
Congratulations to your Son!
Congratulations to you and your son!
Congrats!
Congratulations to you and your son! The Clear Lake area has lots of fun activities for the weekends. I grew up there and my sisters are are still on that side of town, very close to JSC. I’m only an hour away.
Word to the wise: make sure he has hurricane supplies! 🌀
Hi all!
Incidentally compliant in Serge Noire today. Armpit incense maybe, but I love it. Even the crazy funky top notes.
Have a great day everyone.
I love Serge Noir-I think it’s an elegant choice. Which means I find armpit incense elegant lol 🙂 You smell great.
Wearing unholy amounts of Lyric today. Fragrancenet.com said to give the shipping people until the 11th. Not exactly happy with that. Thinking about wearing Coromandel tomorrow.
Yippee for “unholy amounts”! Love it.
Love the unholy amounts! 🙂 I thought about Lyric this morning. Hmm…maybe tomorrow.
Yay for smelling something nice instead of stinky and unhealthy!
I just found a decant of Lyric…maybe some of us will stink up the joint … although I can do that with Coromandel as well!
I know what I’m wearing tomorrow. 😎
Hermes day 3 for me, in Sur Le Nil today. Mmm, I’d forgotten how good it is. It’s really hitting the spot today.
My new dining room furniture looks so nice y’all! I finally have the room just the way I want it. Can’t wait for the weekend so I can go through all my table linens and get the buffet organized.
I got invited to book club next week by a group of my former colleagues. I ordered the book from Amazon yesterday afternoon and it got delivered before I got up this morning! Holy cow, that’s the fastest delivery ever. They must have had copies in the warehouse here. It’s good timing because I just finished Did you hear about Kitty Karr? yesterday and am ready for a new read. I feel bad cheating on my public library but the wait time on a hold was 60 days, and I can’t wait that long!
So, what is the new book?
The Thursday Murder Club. Have you read?
I’ve read it. After all the good reviews it got, I was expecting…more.
Lol. I will keep that in mind.
No, but I just looked it up and the premise seems charming.
Read it and enjoyed it enormously. It is absolutely pleasure reading for me. Have also read the two sequels, and I thought the third was the best. I like the depiction of older folks as…real people.
I bought my husband two books from the bookstore up the street from me- so I cheated on the library today (dont tell my lions 🦁 🦁 when I show up to volunteer tomorrow at the main branch) Independent bookstores need love too- and we usually donate our bought books to the library anywho..
So glad you love your new dining room!
Thanks Robin, me too!😀
I’m in MFK Aqua Celestia this morning, drinking iced cold-pressed coffee with milk. Mr. G got the urge to try the cold-press method, and it’s pretty good. I, on the other hand, have gotten the urge to transplant several of our day lilies from big pots into the actual ground, so I may go dig in the dirt for a bit before it gets too hot here. I’m battling a neighborhood bunny who has been sneaking in to chomp the tops off of irises and several other newly planted things, and I read that bunnies don’t like day lilies. Worth a try, right? Grrrr.
I picture the bunny, too cute although I feel for gardeners.
We seem to have a banner crop of bunnies this year. I have no idea what they are eating!
No bunnies by me, but plenty of evil squirrels! I saw one digging holes in the lawn recently.
Sometimes I think squirrels exist strictly to taunt our dogs, mess up our yards and eat our tomatoes.
Saying hello from chilly Nova Scotia-but, all the rain and cold weather means all the forest fires are contained! Fingers crossed it stays this way.
Wearing my desert island scent-Eau d’Hadrien EDT. I needed some beauty and comfort, and this is both of those things in a bottle for me. 30 years since I first smelled it and I still remember my friend giving me a hug, and I could smell this subtle elusive scent around her. It’s never lost its magic for me.
Hope everyone’s day is going well.
It’s cool but not rainy here in Montréal, I was actually hoping for some rain as we have had a lot of smog.
Waving from the west coast. Glad that the weather has helped the fire situation. Sadly I know how the fires can be as we’ve been having them every summer for what feels like forever.
I have a bottle of vintage Eau d’Hadrien that I can send you if you’re interested. It’s not getting any attention from me so I’d love to send it to a new home if you’d like it.
Gail, that’s so kind of you-I’d be so happy to give it a good home, if you can stand to part with it 🙂 I’m at carole_macleod at hotmail.com. I sincerely appreciate this 🙂
That is a desert island fragrance! My first big girl perfume. The counters at Bergdorfs were unlike anything a small town young-in (at the time) had ever seen. I completely regret getting rid of the original bottles that I drained.
You smell gorgeous!
AnniePerfumes, that’s so kind of you to say-and thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I’ve never been to a gorgeous dept store to buy my Goutal fragrances-I use either on line, or before that, the phone, so it did result in some mistakes. I recoiled from Eau de Sud when I first tried it-now I’m addicted. And I think this line went back to France-I see less and less of it in the North American market.
Carole,
I believe Luckyscent sells Goutal again. That’s how I purchased my last bottle, but the butterfly bottles, just beautiful!
I think I have some vintage Eau De Sud I can send your way. Might be a mini.
AnniePerfumes, I would love that, if it’s possible-thank you 🙂 🙂 🙂 I appreciate your offer and the information about LuckyScent!
Great news that the wildfires in your area have been contained!
Thank you, Jalapeño 🙂
What a delightful picture! Thank you, Robin, for choosing it to open a lovely day. I decide to wear Twilly today 😉
Last night, after learning about the passing away of Astrud Gilberto, I played a bossa nova album, wearing al03 by biehl.
RIP, Astrud 🕯️
Hey cousin! I liked that picture too.
SOTD = Diana Vreeland Daringly Different
CP points!
It looks like the end times out there. I am working from home and the outside looks smokey yellow orange. I opened the door to see if I have a package but as soon as I opened the door, I had to crinkle my nose. Also, I have blackout curtains for my kitchen window and I usually have the middle closed and the sides open … today I opened the curtains and I was not blinded by any glare.
Onto other things — shall I say “different” things? 🤣
I have orange on my car!
End of times is put perfectly. It was like The Walking Dead last night.
I have a bunch of Diana Freeland samples from Sniffa, years ago. Interested?
No orange car for me but it is dirty and I’m hoping for some rain to wash the car.
And thanks for offering the Diana Vreeland samples … thanks but I still have a ton of samples (and yes, some new ones) that have not seen any action.
Ugly beige skies here today, with the occasional weird shaft of orange sunlight. Not even the cats want to look at it. 😾😾
Ugh. I could have sworn a bird fell from the sky because I heard a thump but when I looked out, I did not see anything which may be for the best.
I’m trying out 4160 Tuesdays Pirate Queen today, it’s interesting but not for me, due to the aquatic notes.
Oh no on the aquatic notes!
Gail, that’s my usual response, but lately I’ve smelled several watery perfumes that I found myself strangely drawn to!! Can you recommend an aquatic that only your evil twin would wear? I want to test my theory, LOL.
Not necessarily aquatic, and without wanting to ruffle any feathers, I’d say Ostara (sadly, I got a dirty-vase note) and Hermes Un Jardin sur le Toit. The Hermes had such a wonderful dry-down but I just couldn’t go through the process of getting there.
I love the name, Pirate Queen, BTW.
Great perfume name, but aquatic notes are generally not my friend either.
You’ve tickled my interest, LOVE an aquatic.
SOTD is Jicky, which to me smells good enough to eat. TOTD is violet black tea from Simpson & Vail. WxOTD is relentlessly cold, dark, and grey — I can’t believe I have the heater running and am in a heavy sweater in June!
Keep warm to you and the little one, you smell great.
Thanks to someone for wearing Bronze Goddess on Monday and reminding me to save it for today since we’re expecting 86 degrees today. But there is something to look forward to. My partner and I are treating ourselves to having lunch delivered since the grocery let us down on salad kits and it’s too hot to turn on the oven.
I’m glad I have AC in my office today😊 Enjoy your lunch!
Yay for office AC! So far so good with staying cool where I work at home. But it’s already quite warm in our bedroom, where my partner works.
Lunch has just been ordered, and I’m excited. A tostada with chipotle prawns. 🍤
Scoring CP points today in EL Dazzling Silver, which Luca Turin describes as a steely floral that “smells like a sucked silver spoon”. A weirdo but really good.
Outfit of the day is sweats, thermal shirt, fluffy socks, big slippers. It’s 49 degrees out and socked in foggy. Brrr! Where’s June??
“A sucked silver spoon!” Well, why not! Too funny. Perfectly captures the subjectivity of scent.
That’s a pretty one.
I had no idea EL did anything that weird!
Sampling Gritti Because I Am Free which is very much a L’Interdit clone/flanker. Nice but derivative.
Hoping the smoke dissipates and air quality improves soon for East coasters…my sister was saying how bad it in is CT today. 💨
I’m not familiar with Gritti but I kind of like l’Interdit, so you smell nice.
It is bad in CT. The husband asked if I was going for my walk by the beach and I thought he was nuts. Wind and this air?
It is bad here in PA, but better than in NY for sure. Our sky is beige rather than brown. It does smell bad though.
No smoothie chosen yet. I picked Dior Addict Eau Délice with its cranberry note, I’m fond of that tart/sweet aspect and tonight it’s Angel Men which I am enjoying always so much more than Angel Women.
The Dior sounds interesting.
Amen to the Angels!
Project compliant in Grand Chalet. I bought it to celebrate when we purchsed our house and today makes a year since we moved in
Happy House Anniversary! That was a great idea to buy a perfume for the purchase of your home.
Congrats!
A year! Congratulations. Loving your home?
I should have been writing to you from my mother’s place in Dunedin today, but my flight last night was cancelled due to fog. The earliest flight I could re-schedule is 3pm today, so my time with my mother is all fine, but the day I had planned to work in the Dunedin office is completely disrupted.
I’m wearing Tobacco Vanille, with vanilla operating as an adjective 🙂
Drat, hope the second try went better!
I’m in Thé Noir today, seems like I’m following a black trend here. 🙂 Yesterday was Synthetic Jungle.
Busy day here, and I forgot that I was the point person for the plumbers coming to flush our building’s sanitary line this morning. Just managed to catch the council member with the keys as he was leaving for work, thank heavens. I’ve been juggling them in the midst of many meetings.
Sounds like a *too* busy day, hope you are relaxing by now!
In Durga Poppy Rouge. I suppose it is apt, but how does something smell red?
I wish Durga would do this kind of scent again. Everything I’ve tried from them recently is nuclear-level sillage and longevity. Is there no room for subtle scents that fade after eight hours?
I found a lot of them too strong (or too something) too.
But it all fairness, most brands these days are too subtle for my taste.
I am afraid I have caught Robin’s cold, and it’s no fun. I hope you’re almost or completely over it by now, Robin! I needed a scent with some clout and chose Ravissante today (MDCI). It’s a very fruity and sweet scent and it punctures through the stuff mostly blocking my nose and sinuses today. (By Duchafour, and delightful). Incidentally, that title is an adjective so I’ve got a streak going on the CP today with extra points!
While feeling lousy I have binge-watched The Great British Baking Show: Juniors. It’s fun and the young cooks are so impressive, but at the same time also are genuinely kids with a sense of fun and tearful when the lose, but very talented and cute. On Netflix.
99% sure that what I had was flu. It is not completely gone but all that is left is congestion, and the air is so bad now that it’s hard to tell if that’s contributing.
My son & I are very slowly watching Juniors too, it is a crack up. Neither of us care for Harry Hill but otherwise we are really enjoying it.
Continuing my dive into the recently acquired samples stash with the lovely Dans Le Bleu Qui Petille. DLBQP makes me love a marine scent, via the incense (perhaps the way L’Eau Froide does for me) and maybe something floral about it. I think I get some CP points for it, too? I missed comments yesterday, but wore Cedrat Boise. I also really enjoyed that, and it was reminding me of something else, but I could not recall…yet. In other news, I stopped by Plato’s Closet on another errand, and picked up an unboxed, 2/3 full, travel spray of Libre edp for $6. That is my price point for something I’m unlikely to try otherwise, and probably someone else might like it as a fragrant mathom. 🙂
I’m so jealous of your Platos Closet. Mine has said they are no longer allowed to take perfume.
Horrible air outside today. I had a quick dash to take out trash & recyclables, grabbed the mail and decided that was enough! The sky has been this ugly, acrid color all day today.
SOTD = Korres Guava lotion in the usual spots again.
Yep. I may wait until tomorrow morning before putting the trash out.
I smell Eau de Gross.
I went crazy sampling and spraying with the over spritzing of Ultimate Seduction (gorgeous) already. Before the sampling even began, I sprayed another that I can’t remember. That was the start of the end. Just stop me.
If you are reading socks, could you send me your email or email me at username at gee male dotty com?
💓 Robin
Taking double points today, wearing Zara Exotic Mimosa and burning a Glasshouse Sweet Cigar & Spiced Rum After Hours candle.
Both are humming along nicely
Honest to goodness not a moments peace today.
I am wearing No.5 L’Eau.
In the people are gross and you can’t convince me otherwise department… I was doing markdowns in the beauty aisle today and found 2 Q-tips that has obviously been in someone’s ear laying on the shelf. Sigh…
Lillyjo, that’s wrong on so many levels. First of all near put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear, according to doctors. And next-why would anyone do that???
But-you smell amazing, and you know how to behave in public 🙂
Honesty, some people are so completely disgusting. I saw a story about a woman who was licking frozen ice cream (after taking off the non-sealed lid) and putting it back in the freezer. I stopped buying ice cream for a long time after that. Now I only buy it in sealed packaging. Sorry you have to deal with that behavior. 🙄
ZOMG, that is *so* nasty!
GAH! Disgusting.
Our work volunteer activity last week was sorting food at a food bank. You’d be shocked (or not) at what people send in. So many bags of various food that were open / half empty, and food that had expired years ago. Just…if it’s not safe for you, it’s not safe for other people, either. Sigh…people.
