I'm relaxing after 5 days of holiday merry making. I might put on a fragrance later this afternoon, but I might not. Tea at the moment is Keemun Mao Feng Organic from Upton with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Accidentally left the house commando so I had to put on something I had in my knapsack; unsurprisingly, that gave me a number of choices, so Iām in Montale Vanille Absolu, a nice, inoffensive, serviceable vanilla.
I do that all the time and really need to update my purse selection.
The decant I ordered of Copper Skies arrived over the weekend, so thatās my SOTM. Itās really very nice ā opens with a bit of a licorice note and quickly settles into light, spicy woods ā but seems to also be rather fleeting. So far, it still is not a huge temptation to the pocketbook. Which is just as well ā counting up my leather perfumes and getting a number far in excess of expectation was eye-opening. Eep.
That sounds nice but the fleeting, less so. I do love Kerosene though and I wish they’d do a travel coffret.
Same here as to a coffret, and I may have been a bit premature with my āfleetingā comment. It is now roughly 11 hours since I spritzed, and Copper Skies is still noticeable on my wrists ā¦ even if mostly just lingering traces of faintly sweet woods and maybe a hint of vanilla.

The lack of clothes dryers and water pressure and proper OTC medicine (ibuprofen and nighttime cold & sinus medication, I’m looking at you) are making me miss home. Isn’t that what travel is for? But, we are in a nice hotel tonight and are no longer infecting family.

My first day of my last week of having to drive 48 miles to the hospital to be “on site” while my co-worker is making the most of her holiday break.
I am in Mohur Extrait, second bottle, which seems slightly diminished compared to the first bottle even tho the price was the same. I mean it smells delightful, but not as much as the first bottle, the depth and intensity of the fragrance just seems diluted. I suppose if they had made it just like the first batch, there would have been a huge jump in price. Everything is a trade off! Somewhere in a different thread here, someone mentioned they have 4 (4!!!) back up bottles of Attrape-Coeur..a lesson for the future! Hope everyone’s living through the shift back to longer days with hope, health and prosperity in your futures…
I googled Attrape-Coeur; Royal Extrait; Guet-whatever the other word is, and am entertained to discover that the debate and yearning for this scent continues unabated. One would think that the lawyers for the House of Guerlain and the lawyers for Ms. Laurent could come to some sensible compromise where in she was credited with the creation of the original scent, and Guerlain could release more of it with some nod to her and a portion of the profits, so that we the people could continute to appreciate and wear this perfumery’s work of art, wouldn’t you? But nooooo… so weird.
I have four bottles each of Mon PrĆ©cieux Nectar and Gourmand Coquin – not going to be caught out on those, which are two favorites! I did recently sell off quite a few backups of the Art et MatiĆØre line, which were rumored to be discontinued a couple of years ago but which turned out to be a repackaging, and the scents survived intact.

I have had it for many months now-it smells vey good, just not the depth and staying power of the first bottle. I wore it today and there is just the faint remnants of sweetness on my wrists. The first bottle ended in sand lewis that went on and on. Oh well, it is lovely in itself.

High wind and high surf warnings for the next day or two as least. I donāt have any idea how the people camped in the woods are getting ANY sleep! Just driving back from town, seeing these huge pines and firs bend under the onslaught of the wind was giving me heebiejeebies! Amazingly, Iāve only seen one area along the road where a tree came down and was quickly cleared by staff. Iām by a lake with no sizable trees nearby and Iām still hyper vigilant! I did notice the camping closest to the ocean has been restricted. The surf was so high yesterday, it was at the tree line, which is about 50 feet from those camping areas. š¬

Public service announcement: Jo Malone Rose Water & Vanilla has been relaunched. I hear it has been slightly reformulated with less patchouli and more sweetness. Of course my curiosity got the better of me and I ordered it blind from Sephora. It just arrived and it doesnāt really smell like what I expected. Not a lot of rose and not even that sweet. I may return it. Note that I never smelled the original so I canāt compare.
Yes, they did all 3 of the roses (Rose Water, plus Red Roses and Rose Blush) with colored labels, and they also reissued some of the Cologne Intense collection in dark glass (not quite opaque) bottles, all different colors.

I am wearing Amouage Opus VIII today. I love it but it’s such a powerhouse I don’t wear it very often. Later today I’m going out for an important banking appointment on behalf of our HOA, and so I’m wearing a strong scent (plus my diamond pendant!). After making several ambitious meals the past two nights I think tonight will be simple, maybe just a fried Korean scallion pancake–I love the ones you can buy frozen from Trader Joe’s. They don’t always have them so I bought two packages the last time they were in.

Yes, and you can choose your bottle and cap color. I have Plum in Cognac as well (Hajusuuri enabled!) with a black bottle and gold cap.
Wearing a few sprays of Over The Chocolate Shop this afternoon. I thought it was a safe choice since it’s not too perfumey and doesn’t project too loudly.

Yesterday I made it to the mall and picked up a half off Lush gift set. I got a small one with a mini sticky dates shower gel and a mini orange body scrub. I used the scrub today and matched it with my sotd Orange Sanguine.
I think I love OS just as much in the winter. It really brightens my mood.
