Yes, popularity can ruin a perfume. Coco Mademoiselle was ruined for me for a while. Back when it came out, everyone seemed to wear it. Now you don’t smell it as often.
It’s hard not to be disconcerted when everybody is wearing your perfume!
It wouldn’t make me not wear it, but Portrait of a Lady is my favorite Malle, and I think, Couldn’t I have a favorite Malle that’s *not* the most popular?
Ah. But I really don’t smell it everywhere.
At the same time, maybe it will be some help against discontinuation.
