We start the week with Fibonacci Day (also Espresso Day, and Harpo Marx's birthday). What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm suffering from decision paralysis this morning, and so I'm going to pick something from what you all are wearing.
Reminder: on 11/27, pick your Black Friday poison...wear the last fragrance you bought, wear a cheap thrill, or wear a fragrance you love but refuse to buy in a full size because it's too expensive.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try (but frequently fail) to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I’m wearing Hiris today. Taking the advantage of working from home days to clean in between grading. Very thankful that both my husband and I had negative COVID tests after he was exposed at work.
I hope everyone has a fabulous day!
Happy for your negative test!
Good news about your tests!
So glad to hear of your test results. I got tested (again) on Saturday so will hopefully get results soon….
Coumarin, I hope you get results back soon, and I hope they are negative! ??
Glad for your negative tests! That is so stressful…
Yay for negative tests! ?
smelling beautiful, sistine! 🙂
Glad to hear you are well. 🙂
So glad you got negative COVID tests! You smell marvelous, as you well know!
Yay for negative test results!
I’m wearing L’Air du Desert Marocain, from a sample. I tried my mini of this fragrance, but it was empty. I think it evaporated, because I haven’t used it that often. Oh well, I believe that I read that Tauer was releasing it again as a mini, so I’ll probably buy another. On the other hand it might be cheaper to buy a larger decant from one of the decant houses.
The Tauer minis have a serious evaporation problem. Many of us here have experienced it. I particularly will not buy any more minis from Tauer, unless I am sure I am going to use it is a short period of time.
Good to know. I’ll get a decant then.
laddm is perfect 🙂 you smell wonderful!
I wish the mini bottles
were as wonderful as the perfume inside,
mine evaporated, too.
Wow, I am going to empty my minis asap! Thanks for the warning.
Twins, we smell so good!
I’m almost afraid to, but I should check my minis also.
Not feeling like wearing anything in particular, so I sprayed on whatever my hand grabbed. Wearing Caron Parfume Sacre EdT and I realized this decant has to be rehomed. It never moved my heart. It is ok, but I never reach for it for the same reason.
Drinking the second cup of coffee and getting really bored and tired about so many rainy, cloudy, windy, cold days in a row. I’d better start thinking about the holidays if I want to cheer up.
Back to my home working desk.
Happy Monday everyone! ?
I love Parfum Sacre- my favorite Caron and I treasure my bottle
Glad it works for you!
Having a connection with a perfume can be as important as how it smells.
Agree! Unfortunately, I never got that connection.
There is something about it that just puts me off every time I wear it.
Agree! So many times I sniff something that I feel like I should love- and I may even think it’s really beautiful- but it just doesn’t “touch me” for whatever reason.
Today is definitely a 2-coffee day! I felt much better after finishing the second one…I hope you do too.
It usually do after the second one, so I should be ok soon! I hope! ?
Hope you get some sun soon! I am post one cup of coffee and looking forward to the 2nd. 🙂
Sun is out now, fortunately! I am on my third and last cup of coffee for the day. Feeling good now! ?
I wonder if there is a big difference between edt and edp, I have the latter, vintage in the clock bottle, it’s a huge resinous, grand perfume with a rose I adore. Sorry that you did not enjoy it but money saved?
I have never tried the EdP, but I wonder if there is a big difference between both.
You should be sunny now though, and ? with the ? like there’s no tomorrow.
I gave away my bottle of Parfum Sacre . I liked it for a while and then I didn’t anymore.
Sun is FINALLY out! So windy now and therefore colder, but as long as the sun is out it feels great!
Glad to hear someone else did not like Parfum Sacre. It has so many lovers out there!
I don’t know if I tried the edt or the edp or the intense – but whichever it was I found it too dry (on my skin) for my nose. I expected my taste to become more sophisticated with time and to eventually appreciate such scents but nope!
Same here! Sometimes, I wish my nose were more sophisticated to understand and wear many of the classic. As much as I appreciate them few work for me.
Cm8? Is that you ??
LOL! ?
Parfum Sacre didn’t work at all for me, although the notes seemed perfect.
That is exactly why I bought a large decant. Notes sound right up my alley, but the scent never met my expectations.
The only “rule” I have about perfume is that you like what you like. And if you don’t like something, no matter what it is, that’s OK!
It is true! Sometimes, I try to force myself to like a scent, especially if it is a classic. So far, that hasn’t worked for me.
Espresso day…
I will make one later. Right now drinking French Press coffee
Grey soft cashmere sweater and black leggings.
SOTD Chanel 1957
Joining you with espresso and cashmere! Today’s cool weather warrants it.
ST-I forgot to reply to your comment over the weekend. I wore Coco all weekend. I forgot how much it blooms in cooler temperatures. Gorgeous.
Cashmere sweaters are so comfortable. Enjoy being cozy
Coco is gorgeous! I may wear the vintage with the body lotion for Thanksgiving this year.
Years ago, a friend from Germany gave a cashmere sweater and skirt set. Even some 25 years later, it’s still plush and hasn’t pilled. It’s super thick weave, probably four-ply (do they even make cashmere like this anymore?), and super warm.
I know you’re a fan of consignment finds. My favorite sweater is a peach-colored cashmere sweater I found in Sarasota Fl, 30 years ago. Made in Scotland, it’s amazingly dense and warm. I treasure it.
I love sweaters made in Scotland, the one I am wearing today is made there. The brand is Andre Olivier and I picked it up while thrifting. Its this sweater but in grey https://images.app.goo.gl/MgFzfs4t8KrALcs97
Coco!! I wore some vintage-ish EdT yesterday actually!
I am jealous of your vintage
That’s my favorite version of Coco.
That outfit… Life goals. Digging out my cashmere for tomorrow!
I’m at the dealership getting my car worked on. I’ve been here for 3 hours and have another 2 to go. Then going to work. I didn’t know the cp when chose my sotd this morning. I picked vintage Dior Addict. Sexiest vanilla ever imo. It fits the cp because I love it so much, but will never buy a new bottle. The reformulation isn’t bad, but it’s not as magical. I do keep an eye out though in case I run into a vintage bottle at a reasonable price. Until then I treasure my decant from the magic maker Hajusuuri ?
If you don’t mind me asking, how do you tell if it’s an old bottle versus new? I never got a chance to smell the original and I’m a bit of a fiend for original formulations.
The old bottles do not have a cap. The sprayer is attached to the bottle. If anyone can find a good deal on one it’s you!
Oh, good tip! I haven’t been exploring at all recently but one day….
Wow, sorry you are stuck there so long!
Me too! Mondays are the busiest day, but it was the only time I had this week to get it in.
Hope you will get a drink to pass the time. I bet you smell great, I have never smelled Addict.
I brought a big diet coke with me, lol. You should try Addict. The new version is still good, just not as good. ?
Sorry you are stuck at the dealership for that long!
Thanks! Now I’m stuck at work, lol.
? You smell sublime! Sorry about the dealership wait … hopefully the bill will be painless.
Good news is I mentioned my radio not working and turns out there was a manufacturer defect, so I’m getting a new one ordered under warranty! The other stuff though, I had to pay for.
Hajusuuri is definitely a magic-maker!
Totally!
Good thing you got your car looked at while the weather was reasonably nice! ?
Yeah, I was getting anxious about it.
Wearing MFK Petit Matin, which is definitely one of the best citrusy fragrances I’ve tried.
Though we’re still in a hybrid model, school is a ghost town, so I’m guessing the travel restrictions are going largely ignored. Hmm.
Aha, that decided it — we are twins 🙂
You’ve given me so many great ideas. Glad I could contribute one!
Petit Matin is amazing. You smell wonderful. I have a sample around here somewhere . . . must find it soon. 🙂
Got some samples recently from January Scent Project. Dinudisit is an interesting scent that seems like it will better fit pretty spring weather than a November downpour
That one does sound interesting — narcissus, caramel, ocean accord?
On me it is a wet spring floral, as if there was a brief sun shower, enough to make things wet, not warm enough to make things muggy. There’s a little bit of sweetness in the base but it’s not a prominent caramel note on me. A happy scent.
Thanks, that does sound nice.
Dinudisit is really lovely in spring.
I love January Scent Project – which other samples did you get? Was Horla (the newest scent) included? I’m very curious about that one.
Loved Horla, it went on my full bottle wishlist
It was POURING rain when I got up this morning. So hard to motivate to come to work. And now that I’m here, I am procrastinating like crazy. Thanks for enabling, NST!
Wearing Vanille 44, which is my go-to for rainy days. My (large) decant is nearly gone. But due to the price, I probably won’t re-up.
We are always happy to enable procrastination, that is, when we can get up and get the poll posted at all ⏲️⏲️⏲️
Sunny now!
Hi all, my SOTD is Le Labo’s Iris 39. Powdery patchouli iris just felt right. It’s an intense scent, one spritz does the trick.
Wearing black leggings and a black cashmere long sweater.
Makeup for today is Le Métier de Beauté’s Le Cirque Kaleidoscope eye palette and Chanel’s foundation.
Had to revisit a difficult conversation with the Mother in Law about why we’re not joining her for Thanksgiving. Kevin is an essential worker and interacts with a variety of people.
Given the percentage of tests that come back false-negative, we’re not taking the chance. RT-PCR test’s sensitivity, which is low in early illness, is even lower in asymptomatics, likely because of lower viral load. To that end, we’re being cautious.
A negative test doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods.
Robin, please remove if inappropriate.
I’m having the same conversation with my own mother. She isn’t bothered by the hundreds of people I see a week (though I’m as diligent as possible with my PPE) but I can’t imagine getting her or anyone else sick if I was contagious.
These conversations are not easy, that’s for sure!
Kevin is diligent with the PPE also, his poor ears are raw from the elastic bands.
ST-
I am also wearing Chanel foundation. Which one are you in?
We are also staying put for thanksgiving. Its hard explaining this to the little ones.
I’m wearing the old formula of Perfection Lumiere Velvet in 20 Beige. It’s easily a HG foundation for me.
My skin care game has definitely improved; I’m not going through foundation as quickly as I normally would, my skin is in far better shape.
I forgot to mention, I’m wearing Chanel lipstick in Misia.
I looked up your lippy color..that looks very beautiful.
I am wearing sort of like a tinted moisturizer from Chanel, its watery and gives slight coverage to the skin. I am wearing also Chanel lippy and eye makeup.
Skin care is so important. I am been also sampling from this same line, I got some samples of there hydrating serum and its so moisturizing I need nothing else after it.
Thanks! I really love Chanel’s Experimental lipstick. It’s so bright and cheerful. I went through two tubes pretty quickly. I love Chanel’s foundation, unfortunately, their skin care didn’t work for me….
As long as we stay away from debating official rules, OR debating the existence of covid or how to treat it / avoid it, I am just fine with people talking about their own personal dilemmas.
We have had many difficult conversations over the past few weeks. Both my mom and my newly-widowed step mother are going to be without family on Thanksgiving, which breaks my heart.
Thanks for clarifying Robin. I can see I’m barely walking the line with my comment – I’ll remember that for the future. The last thing I want to do is break the rules or make someone feel uncomfortable. 😀 This blog has been a place of peace for many, and I don’t want to ruin it.
This holiday season feels awful, lonely, and isolating for many. I agree, it is heart-breaking.
The rules actually helped me stop complaining when I faced inconveniences. Helped change my attitude, so I appreciate them.
I agree!
Attitude of gratitude! 😀
I did not mind your comment. You perhaps came close to the line but so long as nobody sees it as an invitation to argue, it’s ok. We’ve all certainly come close to the line this year at one point or another.
We’ve all just got to keep doing our best. We’ve made it almost all the way through 2020!! That’s amazing! ⭐⭐⭐
I’m so grateful I’m living with my grandmother right now. I can’t imagine her being alone through this. Our cohabitation was an unexpected development but now I know it definitely happened for a reason.
If nothing else I think we can all agree 2020 has been a year of difficult conversations. Sorry you had to have another one!
True that!
These early Black Friday deal emails are starting to flood my inbox. Ulta is selling Chanel products again online instead of just in their brick and motor stores. Sorely tempted to blind buy Mademoiselle Intense mini travel set but I really need to wait. Woke up in Hedonist this morning and now on no 5 edp for work.
I hear you on these sales! How am I going to resist 25% off from Serge Lutens??? I try really hard not to contribute to Black Friday madness but that’s the one deal that might get me.
Even with a 25% from Serge Lutens, I still wouldn’t be able to afford a bell jar. If it were 60%, I would consider it.
You smell wonderful!
And yes, I plan on avoiding my personal email for a few days, the crush of sales offers is really incredible!
I’m taking a long walk soon to pick up a few 50% off items from Old Navy.
I used to love Old Navy sweaters, such cute ones around the holidays…
Hello all!
Taking a huuuuge day of rest (though still up too early) after a crazy busy week. Maybe I’ll finally tidy up my apartment today. ?
I’m in a non-committal spritz of Apres L’Ondee to go with my coffee.
Any fans of Andy Tauer’s fabulous bar soaps? He’s finally restocked each type, including the glorious tuberose. Each time I washed with my last bar, it perfumed my whole apartment. I’m going to place a large order as Tauer seems a bit ruthless about discontinuation at times (I thought they were gone forever!) and this product is worth stocking up.
Stay safe, all.
I noticed that he has discontinued a lot of things in a short period of time.
Blink and you miss it! I’ll always regret not getting a bottle of Carillon pour une Ange. It took so long to make up my mind, though….
Coumarin, I agree. Carillon pour une Ange was glorious. I regret not getting it. That was one gorgeous perfume!
Carillon pour une ange smelled so closely to my childhood backyard in May that it made me burst into tears the first time I smelled it.
Oh, wow, that sounds like a lovely childhood!
I found it to be so ethereal and beautiful – it was stunning.
It’s been quite some time since a fragrance has knocked my socks off like that!
I’m a fan of Tauer-anything! I may splurge on a bottle of LADDM. That stuff is glorious.
I hate to admit but most Tauers don’t work for me. I do try them often though….
I’ve tried the tuberose and the mandarin and they are both very good.
Glad to know I’m not the only one.
I’ve never tried the bar soaps, maybe I’ll put one on my Christmas wish list for my hubs…
They’re a pretty reasonable thrill compared to what one COULD ask for.
Are the soaps moisturizing? And does the tuberose really smell like one? I don’t like tuberose but want to try the soaps. Do you recommend others of his soaps?
I don’t remember to be honest! I used mine at least 2 years ago. I only tried that one scent but the mandarin one sounds lovely too.
In Safran Troublant, the last FB I purchased for the splitmeet! The kids are on break, but we’re not – always a little harder to motivate myself to get going! It’s easier when I my daughter does her P.E. class behind me to get started. 🙂
Zoomed last night with two high school friends. They had so much fun they want to zoom every two weeks on Sundays, which is great, except I’m 9 hours behind them time zone wise. Regardless, I’m going to see if my university friends want to do the same thing. That’s one of the few positives of this pandemic.
I’ve been zooming with a few special friends every week on Sunday. At first it felt strange, especially since some are many time zones away. But now I look forward to it. 🙂
I’ve been meaning to do a Zoom with friends. That sounds fun!
Do it! Your friends will appreciate your initiative. A part of me always feels a teeny bit nervous when reconnecting with friends I don’t stay in touch with throughout the year – what if they don’t really feel the need to connect – but in my experience, everyone has been really happy when I reached out.
It’s easy to wear the last fragrance I bought but certainly can’t call it a cheap thrill (at least not as far as $/ml). I just received it on Saturday: TF Lost Cherry. It was a FOMO + COVID panic purchase- I can’t afford the big bottle and saw the travel spray sold out some places so I grabbed one from Saks. I do love it. Cherry syrup gives way to jasmine woods with a little cherry sweetness still remaining. I may wear it all week.
You smell great. I got the travel spray at Nordstrom a month or two ago and it’s been sold out since I think. I realize that in the past few years even w/ all my glorious vanillas I don’t reach for many of the FBs as much and am trying to get travel sprays/smaller sizes b/c there will always more/new/better 😉 perfume coming out…which is to say I am pro-travel spray except when it’s really extraordinary. The tough part is the honeymoon phase, not unlike w/ human relationships 😉 , lasts a while so I have to make to the point where the luster wears off and I no longer want the FB.
You smell wonderful. Everyone is talking about Lost Cherry, it’s getting a lot of love.
I snagged the travel spray of Lost Cherry at the Sephora sale, then enjoyed it so much I went back and got the 100ml as well. I’ll probably fall out of love with it now as a result. LOL.
You smell great! I’ve been browsing for this one a few times and yes, mostly sold out. I really like Lost Cherry.
Woohoo for a new travel spray. 🙂
I’m in Hermes Eau des Merveilles, because it’s always right.
Today’s plan: hanging out on the couch today following Saturday’s unanticipated root canal. Doing some online holiday shopping, so making good use of said couch time.
OUCH! Hope you feel better quickly!
Oh, you deserve some rest after that root canal, you smell great, enjoy the shopping.
agree! EdM is always right on, right on, right on!
You smell amazing. I’m sorry about the root canal – I hope your recovery is smooth and quick!
Ooooooof! An unanticipated root canal is the pits.
Wearing Gallagher Wicked Good and wondering if he will do any type of sale for Thanksgiving/BF. ?
I will ignore my own travel spray comments above and plan to get a FB of this one methinks. 😉 Super comforting and he may stop making it at some point.
Was feeling down and out last night thinking about the last couple of years with losing both my parents and the current year. 🙁 But today I got up…ate my usual cheese, english muffin and coffee breakfast…sprayed my perfume and will just keep swimming. So grateful for all your comments and to be among my fragrant kind. ♥️
And sometimes that full bottle is worth it, too.
I know times are hard and loss is even harder. We just keep swimming even when it’s upstream at times. Hugs!
And if you decide 100 mls might be too much, I bet some of us would love to help you out with a split…just sayin’. ;D
Sorry about the awful night She-ra! An adored vanilla MUST be full-sized 🙂
Wicked Good, what a fantastic perfume name. 🙂
Just keep swimming! Good advice for a Monday or any day.
Watched Finding Dory over the weekend, just for laughs. Nemo and Dory always make me smile.
Just keep swimming indeed. Virtual hugs to you.
I definitely think you should spring for Wicked Good. He made a few 100ml bottles some time back but I was broke at the time. Sending vanilla hugs!
“Rest if you must, but don’t quit!”
She-ra, I’ve been thinking about my parents alot too. It’s tough. Good for you for keeping on keeping on!
Estee Lauder Estee (the last fragrance I purchased) is my SOTD, and I am drinking a cup of Nilgiri Winter Frost Black tea.
This past weekend was my daughter’s bridal shower. It is a day I will keep in my heart. The outpouring of friendship and love was so wonderful. Thank goodness the weather was beautiful and we were able to have it outside. The scent I wore to her shower on Saturday was Diptyqye Vetyverio.
I love the photo Robin. It reminds me of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The old Estee is exquisite. Although not listed, I get a distinct hyacinth note.
Now that you mention it, I do too 🙂
It’s a nice green dewy hyacinth – it reminded me a lot of spring in Eastern Long Island.
Congratulations on your daughter’s upcoming marriage!
What a wonderful day for your daughter!
Congratulations to your daughter. So glad you all had a wonderful day!
Adding more congratulations, and so glad she was able to have the shower!
Thanks for posting a bit of wonderful news today! Glad to hear that her shower went well.
Congratulations!
Thank you all so much !
Also suffering from perfume indecision, so have put out some samples this week to finish off. This morning it’s Changing Constance by Penhaligon and it works on this grey, rainy day.
Perhaps it is catching 🙂
L’Air De Rien for a bit of powery musky goodness. I love this scent!
You smell wonderful! That was my riskiest, but most successful blind buy.
I agree, it could be a risk, but I did a blind buy too with this
You smell fantastic.
One of my favorites. I find it’s always the right choice.
CP compliant in Black Perfecto EdP.
Completely dark in our apartment when I got up because of the rain. It’s now bright and sunny out.
I took advantage of some 50% off at Old Navy to get a pair of velvet pants, a sleep shirt and some flannel pj bottoms. I decided to do pick up so that I’d get my fuzzy behind outside for a walk. I’ll walk at least partway…can grab a bus if I want to. I just don’t feel comfortable on the subway right now.
my daughter wants PJ bottoms – maybe I have to brave the old navy store here this week…
I will say it was an excellent sale. The flannel pj bottoms are great, but I changed sized and pattern once I got there. Also got my husband a pair in dark green with black dinosaurs wearing Santa hats. ? Plus I got an extra $10 off because I spent $35.
Given my Old Navy is right across from the flagship Macy’s, it was surprisingly quiet. Not that many people shopping in person.
Woke to driving rain. Nothing pressing to do, feeling a bit off – fighting a lung infection with yet another nasty antibiotic – and lazy, so went with Fate, my comfort scent. Thinking about what to get with the Saks Black Friday extravaganza. I don’t want to spend on me this close to the holidays, so throw some guilt into the emotional mix as well.
Tempted by the TF Lost Cherry discussion, but the last TF I tried, Violet Blonde, almost killed me. I gifted the bottle to a niece. That stuff is nuclear strength.
I hope the antibiotics help! Those infections just zap your strength.
Thanks lillyjo. I am exhausted!
Get well soon.
Many thanks
Feel better soon!
I liked Violet Blonde but not enough to purchase. Lost Cherry…well, it smelled just like I remember Beacon’s fizz-pop cherry. Like other Private Collections it stayed close to my skin and stayed flat. So, sometimes a scent recalls a candy in a way that makes me happy… but this wasn’t it. Given all the fan fare though I will try it again 😀
I hope you recover quickly! Violet Blonde almost did me in as well.
Yuck on the infection and resulting drugs. Feel better!
Happy Monday! I’m in Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille body creme. I’m determined to use this up by spring. Spritzed on some Infusion d’Iris Absolue, but it’s being outpaced by the LM.
Okay, I have to do better in terms of the doom scrolling. I was kind of an emotional mess this weekend, and it was compounded by not walking much and being too idle in general. I have things to clean up and rooms to clean out, so I’m putting this intention out there to keep myself honest. ??
I was a bit of mess too this weekend. Weekend emotional mess twins?!
Aww, I’m sorry you were down this weekend, too. I kept away from my iPad today, which helped. Actually, my screen quit working, so I had no choice but to put the device down. Guess the universe is trying to tell me something!
I hope your day has gone well and your spirits are lifted! ?
walk it off, work it out, you can do it! 🙂
I always get a bit of the winter blahs about this time of the year. It will get a little easier in a month when the days start getting longer.
I did take the pupster for a walk this morning, and it helped.
I always love your posts tiffanie. They are always so positive and uplifting. Thanks for being you! ?
Yes, ITA, Tiffanie’s posts are great!
I need more exercise too, it really helps. Did two yoga classes this morning to kick my butt into gear.
So true. The walk this morning helped, and the overcast, breezy weather was perfect.
I’ve put myself on a news diet again. I needed to…
I sometimes will just look at the local headlines. If I think I really don’t need the full story today, I don’t click. There are lot’s of positive stories to click too! You just have to look a little harder. Hope you feel better ??
Doom scrolling is definitely a thing, and a bad one. I’m so sorry. I get into that too. I’m hoping we can get together sometime in the not-too-far-off future for another lunch with Coumarin and/or a sniff outing. Hope you have some nice Thanksgiving plans!
Another grey and drizzly Monday. I did manage a dry walk around noon, so it has not been raining all day.
Wearing Heure Exquise, one of my favourites in this season. I tend to prefer iris centred fragrances in autumn, I suppose that I subconsciously enjoy matching my perfume to the smells around me.
You smell so great today.
Testing some DSH samples that I received with my last order. A/Embers at the moment, which is nice (amber/smoke) but rather much similar to some other scents I own, so I think I can resist its charms. I am CP-adjacent since the samples came with a FB I ordered — Muresque — oh my, lovely! I think springpansy gets the enabler pin for this one.
Last week was bumpy, MIL was back in the hospital. She finally started to rally on Saturday. Oof, what a time to be dealing with this.
We are prepping for Thanksgiving. DH and I will be home alone (we are fine with that) but we are cooking birds for ourselves and at least one neighbor — once you’ve got the deep fryer going, might as well do more than one bird! YUM can’t wait.
Ooh, I want to hear more. We’ve never tried to deep-fry a turkey. I see to many stories about people burning their homes down, and hubs is a traditionalist – Thanksgiving is one of his meals. I got him to brine the turkey once and he still complains about it 😉
Oh deep fried turkey is AMAZING. So tender and moist, and cooks so quickly. And no, not greasy. We brine the turkey for a day or so, and then cook multiple turkeys once the oil is hot. Traditionally we have T-day at a friend’s house and all the guests bring their own bird to cook and take home. One year we did 6 birds!
There’s really no safety issue as long as your turkey is completely thawed. And as long as you run the fryer OUTside…
Try it and you’ll never go back 🙂
We deep fry it also! And like you said, no, not greasy at all! It’s so delicious and perfect!
I LOVE fried turkey!
Frankly, I’m a fan of fried anything.
We were going to get deep fried turkey this year for the first time but the other family got cold feet and pulled out so it’s back to regular turkey for us. Maybe next year!
Sorry about your MIL, hope she recovers fully.
Oh, that’s a shame about your MIL. Fingers crossed that she is getting better ASAP!
Oh yay for Muresque! Isn’t it wonderful? I hope she keeps it in rotation.
Hope MIL recovers. It would be hard anyway, but it’s an especially tough time to have other health challenges going on. And, of course, they DO go on anyway.
My Monday smells of Ormaie L’Ivree Bleue. My guilty pleasure oriental gourmand with a stunning bottle and the price I think I’ll digest one day and cave in to get it.
I got mine on sale 20% off from Aus Liebe zum Duft / First in Fragrance. They normally have this discount a few days before Christmas and again for Valentine’s day. They just had one this weekend too but it is over.
Love this one and the bottles are so beautiful!
Another busy day ahead here, going with Tea for Two, an easy choice.
A great choice!
I was almost a scent twin today! Ended up reaching for something else, but need to wear that one soon. You smell great!
I put on a spray of Adam Levine at about 9p last night. Went to the gym at 6a, and broke gym etiquette because that thing was still kicking. Oh well, plenty of ladies sitting on equipment and videoing themselves in a cloud of Coco Mademoiselle, so I skulked away undetected. I must have had a hallucination, because a guy who looked like Monsieur from the lens crafter commercial said hi to me. Weird day.
Ha! You were smelling great in AL.
I really like these French bulldogs. They have good attitudes.
I am going to pull out my bottle of Adam Levine for CP
I’m starting to like it. Don’t like jasmine, but I’m getting over it. I’d like to point that this 9.99 stuff has real projections and staying power. Why can’t stuffs in the hundred dollar and above price range do that? It’s a real performer.
So my Adam Levine just showed up. It’s quite nice for the price! Not overpowering on me, and I love jasmine.
OMG people videoing themselves at the gym?
Well how would you prove you exist unless you video it? You also need full makeup and a duck face too. Tik tok man. I’m beginning to hate the technology.
Wearing Robert Piguet Visa edp and testing the extrait on my wrist which I got recently, the extrait is fruitier.
Which is better?
Sorry for late answer, in the long run the extrait is more complex with a plush drydown, so I prefer it.

SotD = Teo Cabanel Lace Garden
Heavenly. Thank you, cazaubon, for sharing with me.
I’m getting gorgeously realistic white flowers with a bit of lemon up top then powdery vanilla. So good, so delicious, I want to lick my arm. But I stop myself because that would be crazy, wouldn’t it? Gosh this perfume is beautiful stuff, a perfect indulgence for today.
Lace Garden goes nicely with my other indulgent treat, I broke my no-chocolate-until-after-12-noon rule. 😯 I’m all hopped up on the brownie I ate before my lunch. Time for a long walk, and maybe a bike ride to burn off the buzz.
Then I’m off to my parents’ house to visit with my dad, in the backyard, socially distanced, with masks on. My mum has a dental appointment this afternoon, she’s getting a badly cracked crown replaced, and lately my dad doesn’t like to be at home alone.
The visit gives me a nice excuse to sit in the garden. My mother has a green thumb, so it’s beautiful all year round. If I’m lucky there will be some blossoms on the dwarf orange tree for me to sniff. I’ll pull weeds then whack at the wall of honeysuckle vines with pruning snippers so I feel slightly useful.
Music on my radio at the moment,
reminds me Friday will be here
before we know it:
Monday you can hold your head
Tuesday, Wednesday, stay in bed
Or Thursday watch the walls instead
It’s Friday, I’m in love! 🙂
Sounds like you’ll have a lovely afternoon (and your dad – probably not so much your mom at the dentist 🙁 … My citrus trees are not blooming right now – they are busy putting forth fruit. But they do the weird double thing where they bloom and have fruit on at the same time.
Sounds wonderful! 🙂
I love The Cure! Have a great visit with your dad.
Enjoy your dad and the time in the garden!
Have a nice visit! That sounds lovely.
Great Song of the Day! I hope that your visit with your dad went well.
Your perfume sounds amazing!
Hope it was an enjoyable afternoon, tiffanie.
I’m wearing Hiram Green Arbole after getting a literal red burning rash for the first time ever trying a natural perfume by Teone Reinthal. Just goes to show that natural doesn’t mean harmless, you can certainly have a strong allergic reaction! Scrubbed it off quickly.
Wow, that’s scary!
Did you post yesterday that CdG is discontinuing the Incense Series? I may need to ponder speeding up my purchase of Kyoto if that’s the case.
Oh really? What a shame!
Yes, that’s the word on Basenotes.
That is one of the great misunderstandings. Natural does not necessarily mean better. Molecules are molecules after all.
No kidding! Poison ivy is entirely natural and just about lethal to me!
My poor hubs has SUPER sensitive skin and almost any time fragrance hits his skin, he gets a rash like that. He loves it, but can usually only spray it on a shirt.
Wow, red and burning is not good at all. Hope it was a one-off and other perfumes you try from that house don’t do the same thing.
I have never had that kind of reaction to any perfume, of any brand, so it was quite surprising indeed. I own and wear several of her other scents with no problem.
LADDM for me today. Still smelling great hours later. Gosh, why is it Monday again?! I am ready for Thanksgiving….
You smell superb, wishing you strength to endure until Thursday.
It’s just me and my husband and my coworker (we’ve recently been tested) but still happy to cook and enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal.
Oh, and I took my espresso as an Americano this morning!
I am not at all ready for Thanksgiving! I still have fixings to get!
LADDM is gorgeous.
I’ve been in warm, burning scents all yesterday and today – Memoirs of a Trespasser and Replica By the Fireplace. A weekend of woodsmoke and deliciousness.
I love warm smoky scents too!
Some much needed sunshine here today! ??? But it really cooled off after those clouds left… ? Also, Mr. Jalapeno had his followup appointment today with the surgeon and had his stitches removed. The surgeon apparently was very pleased with how he is healing.
SOTD = back in Fleur de Peau.
You smell nice and I’m glad your husband’s appointment went well!
As to the weather, cold, gray and drizzling when I put out the garbage and then it turned very sunny, windy AND cold.
Thank you! Looks like Mr. Jalapeno won’t have an extended series of PT sessions. Maybe a week or so?
I missed that Mr. J had surgery but glad he seems to be healing well!
Yeah, it was 10 days ago for some shoulder issues.
Also meant to mention – JOY30 Clinique online – the Wrappings perfume and Body Lotion set is available. It comes out to perfumath free ?
Ooooops. That discount code might have come a little late for me…
Glad to hear Mr. Jalapeno got a good report!
Thanks cazaubon!
Oh good.
Thank you Robin!
I’m glad he is coming along well!
It wasn’t bad today, but tomorrow it’s a rain/snow mix.
Ugh! That is the worst.
Thanks lillyjo, but sorry to hear that your weather tomorrow is gonna suck.
This is why I am going for the auto inspection this Wednesday instead of next Wednesday!
Great news about Mr. Jalapeno! And yay for some sunshine. I got out for a walk during brief sunshine here. It helps!
Thanks springpansy! I got out briefly to take out the trash, and then decided that I wasn’t quite dressed for the weather. Time to pull out heavier sweaters and sweatshirts now!
I am glad to hear Mr. Jalapeno is recovering fast!
The day was nice, except for the rainy morning. Good you also got some sun despite being cold.
Thank you perfumelover67!
SOTD = BDK Parfum Nuit de Sable
Warm, spicy, salty from a sample. I participated in a BDK x OsswaldNYC Zoom event and I’ve narrowed down my choices to 4 of 11 and I am hoping to get the 4 down to 1. Can I do it? Only time will tell!

Over the weekend, I tested Kilian Angels’ Share and Initio Side Effect. Both are warm and spicy but Angels’ Share has a sweeter, nuttier, boozy and more tonka-forward drydown whereas Side Effect was more boozy and vanilla forward. Do I need both? Why yes! Issue though is Angels’ Share is currently out of stock!
I am off starting Wednesday and I am hoping to be able to get my car inspected. I was originally going to wait until Wednesday next week but if I am trying to avoid risks or lessen risks, this coming Wednesday is likely to be safer. I know there are no guarantees but I thought and stressed over this and now I’ve made up my mind!
So which 4 BDK are you down to? I’ve smelled several of them but only briefly from testers. I want Angel’s Share but waiting for some Nordstrom Notes to come in. Meanwhile it disappeared off the website! Will try in a store.
Besides Nuit de Sable: Wood Jasmin, Rouge Smoking and Gris Charnel.
Angels’ Share went poof and I will need to exercise some of my special powers to get a bottle!
Ya gotta do what ya gotta do re: vehicle inspections.
I’ve had people say that both the beginning of the month, and the end of the month are good times for inspection. ?♀️
And this is what I thought too. I actually have until the end of December but I don’t want to wait because things could get worse!
Oh, I think I misunderstood what inspection meant. Do you out east folk have to do something to be able to keep your car on the road?

Ah, I participated in that too, and got my picks down to four also I think. I fear I will end up buying two, probably Gris Charnel and, suprisingly for me, Jasmin Wood. I am not a huge Jasmin fan, but this is really plum and davana and incense on me and I sort of love it.
Unfortunately Nuit de Sables didn’t come in my package, so I hope that there isn’t yet another one that I love!
I think you and I have a lot of intersecting perfume interests!
That does appear to be the case!
Wednesday should be good. It’s the grocery stores that will be crowded.
Wegmans was crowded on Saturday. I was surprised that Whole Foods was not.
Glad I didn’t go to my Wegman’s this past Saturday then. My local grocery store was fine.
Also curious what your four favorite are!
Besides Nuit de Sable: Wood Jasmin, Rouge Smoking and Gris Charnel ?
I’m very late posting, and so people may not read this. My schedule is out of kilter lately. It was a cool gray day today but Thanksgiving is supposed to be 80 here! Ridiculous. I’ll be cooking a lot of nice things and preparing delivery packets for two friends who prefer not to go out of their homes. It’s a bit sad but still, I feel much better cooking for others! Lots of nice things! Today I am wearing Bond #9 Brooklyn. I was looking on my perfume shelves for things I don’t ever wear and thought I should try some. After about five hours it has dried down into a beautiful combination of gin and cedar. It has another sweet note I can’t identify and doesn’t seem listed. Hmmm. For a long while today I was wondering why on earth I ever bought this (but confess the graffiti bottle is awfully cool.). See you guys soon, I think I’ll have a good one for the CP!
Your post did get read! Some folks are here well into the wee hours of EST.
It is nice to shop your collection!
Another one reading here! I bet your thanksgiving packets will be delicious and much appreciated.
80 degrees is super warm for November!
Also a late poster and reader!
Oh, I like Brooklyn quite a bit. It reminds me of C&E Gardener’s Hand Cream. My travel spray went off, and I had to toss it so this reminds me I need to replace it.
Today was Au Dela Narcisse followed by Confessions of a Garden Gnome to enjoy during a 13 hour workday. So, not much else interesting to report! Looking forward to doing nothing else on Thursday but cook and take a walk.
Oh! We are watching “The Undoing”, always a day or two late.
