Happy Teapot Tuesday! It also happens to be International Afternoon Tea Week, which I think mostly means you're allowed a treat with your tea. What fragrance are you wearing?
I am still looking for my Kerosene Unforsaken, so meantime I'm in a dab of Kerosene Black Vines. No points for me but Black Vines always makes me smile. Tea is a blend of Numi Chinese Breakfast and Shangri-La Estate black tea (Nepal, from Upton).
Reminder: 8/14 is Creamsicle Day! Wear a creamsicle fragrance if you have one. (And you can find lots of suggestions — including layering combos — in the comments to 5 perfumes: consider the creamsicle).
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: shown are items from the Lenox Sprig & Vine collection. The teapot, available in white or navy, runs around $70.
I’m in Over the Musk from a newly acquired decant, bigger than the last one I had. This may just about be the perfect musk if only it had more sillage. Maybe I just need to spray more.?
Thank you so much to everyone yesterday for my daughters birthday wishes! We ended up getting rained out shortly after we had our picnic lunch, so we are going to try again today. Today it’s beautiful and sunny and it’s the last day of my staycation. Might as well make the most of it!??
Belated Happy Birthday to you daughter!
Thanks Glannys!?
Enjoy your picnic today !
Thanks!?
Yes happy belated birthday ?!
Thank you!?We’ll have cake again today too!?
Enjoy the day! Your vacations seem to go by so fast.
Oh.. and you smell fantastic!
They do.☹️The weather is perfect today!
Thanks! This one makes me think of you, and it really is fantastic!
Hope you’re blessed with a beautiful, sunny day!
Thanks! Perfect so far!?
I’m a firm believer in birthday weekends, weeks and even months!
Enjoy your time with her today!
Ha, I like the sound of that.
Thanks! I will enjoy every minute, I woke in the middle of the night with worry realizing that after 6 months of being at home, she will be gone back to college in less than a month.?
I hope you have a beautiful sunny day!
Thanks! It was perfect!?
You smell great. I never bought an FBs from that Mugler line but they are all well done.
Thanks! This is the only one I’ve tried, but I’d like to try the amber one too.
Fingers crossed you get beautiful weather this time, enjoy the celebration, many happy returns to your daughter.
Thanks Aurora!
Hope u and your daughter had a lovely and sunny birthday picnic!
Thanks!?
Fingers crossed that the birthday reboot went off today!
Thanks Jalapeño, it did!?
Black Vines is something. You smell amazing, Robin.
I decided to continue with Annick Goutal. Today I am in Le Chevrefeuille.
Le Chevrefeuille is such a lovely scent. You smell great !
I am a big fan of Black Vines and it always makes me smile too. ?
I’m glad she mentioned Black Vines as I forgot I picked up some pinwheel black licorice last week I’ve yet to break into!
And you smell fantastic yourself! Love Chevrefeuille.
Guerlain Meteorites Le Parfum is my SOTD and I am drinking a cup of Himalayan Spice tea.
That is such a cute perfume.
🙂
Teas is coffee. Post shower for another exciting day at my desk methinks some Tea for Two.
I love Tea for Two. You smell fantastic.
Thank you!
Tea for Two is great. You’ll smell wonderful today!
I cherish my little bits of Tea for Two. You smell great today!
I am sticking with bright and cheerful today and am wearing Cartier Eau de Cartier Zeste de Soleil. I have a solid of Lush Sun for when the Cartier fades.
No tea–two days in a row, I forgot to pack my office electric kettle to bring back to my office. Must remember tomorrow.
How have I forgotten about this jolly scent! I have just put a spritz on my perfume-free upper arm.
The fruit up front on that one really is super fun!
I’m wearing Calligraphy Saffron, which is a favorite. I also like Calligraphy. Strangely enough, although I am a big fan of rose fragrances, I really didn’t like Calligraphy Rose the one time I tried it. I’ll have to try it again, sometime when I have the time to scrub it off if I can’t stand it.
It’s lovely, but I have to wait for fall because it’s too hot here now
You smell wonderful. I first got and enjoyed Saffron because of the note list, then lemminged on having to have *the set* and I like Rose a little better overall. But each is perfect when the mood is right. Note to self to make and share decants one of these days. I will never use 300mls of the lovely Calligraphy set!
Calligraphy Saffron somehow reminds me of Etro Shaal Nur.
Wearing Lovely again, the more I wear it the more I like it. I’ve been out of pocket for a few days and missed the weekend poll so I’m going to answer it now. When I first fell down the rabbit hole, everyone swooned about Guerlain. Shalimar is a life long love, and I love Nahema, but everything else smells awful on me. I won a blog drawing for vintage fragrances a while back but they are mostly Guerlain, and even at peak vintage they smell terrible on me. So look me up at the freebie meet if you are a Guerlain fan!
Waving my hand over here ha!
You will have absolutely no problem getting rid of those! (Happy to help you out with that!!)
There’ll be plenty of people looking for you 🙂 (wait – that sounds creepy. Sorry!). I’m in vintage Shalimar right now and loving it!
Shalimar is wonderful in every incarnation, you smell great!
So far Shalimar is the only Guerlain that I can’t wear. I love Guerlain, and although I only have bottles of Mitsouko edt, and Vol de Nuit, I have many of the older ones in decants. I can’t say that I’ve tried a lot of the newer Guerlains, other than Mon Guerlain, which, come to think of it, I actually disliked.
Nice!
Oh gosh, what beautiful teaware. Must keep reminding myself of how often I break things.
A storm came through last night and knocked a big limb down in our backyard. It’s the neighbors tree, and a third of it is now on our fence. Generally awful neighbors, so I’m sure it’s us who will be dealing with it. Grr.
My hand reached of it’s own volition for Candy this morning. Wise hand.
Ugh. Does not sound fun dealing with the tree + neighbors. I bet there was a lot of that happening last week.
I love Candy. You smell great.
I’m game! Going for creamsicle today by layering L’Artisan Couleur Vanille with Guerlain Mandarine Basilic. Does it work? It kind of does but it’s more of a very sophisticated creamsicle scent, maybe more Van Leeuwen vs. Breyers? The Guerlain required 3Xs the sprays of the vanilla to get the right mix.. ha!
Another steamer here today in NYC. Can’t get over it’s almost mid-Aug!
P.S. love that tea set!
Great combo! I also recently tried L’AP Couleur Vanille ?
I’ve learned from the best 😉
What do you think of Couleur Vanille?
I think a bottle is in my future ?
I have to ask, tried or buyed? (Trought or bought?) You know what I mean? ?
Tried ?. Asked for a sample with the purchase of Zoologist Bee.
Ah, I should try MB with something, not sure what.
Vanilla Flash if you have it?
Ah, and I think I do have some if I can find it. Good idea, thanks.
I have both LA’s original Vanille and Guerlain’s AA Mandarine Basilic, perhaps I’ll save that combination for Friday!
No points here, but I’m quite happy in Dryad … again. It has been my most-reached-for bottle most of the last 2 or 3 months. Very soft and comforting.
Happy is better than points.
So true. 🙂
Tea is strong coffee, toasted sourdough with jam for breakfast.
I’m in SB Smoked Ambergris sptayed last night before bed. May reapply or switch after I wake up a bit.
I have more chores today that require me to mingle, so I’m girding my loins for that challenge.
T-Rex is feeling so much better! She is now back in her tap-tap-tap alarm clock mode at the crack of dawn. Recently, she has been just sleeping through it, and the only time she showed any animation was when the kibble bag rattled. She’s now back to inviting play by tossing her ball at me and doing the play bow thing. Makes me so happy to see her jaunty little self once again high stepping through life! ?
Happy news about T-rex!
Sorry you have to mingle.
Glad to hear your baby is back to her usual self!
yay! Glad She’s back to her happy little self! Send me some sourdough and jam!
Woo hoo! Glad T-Rex is back to her usual self!
Yay! I’m glad she’s feeling better.
Yay for T-Rex! Hope you get through the dreaded chores fast.
Glad she’s feeling better. And I’m anti-mingle right now too. 😉
Aww so glad she’s better and happy!
So happy for T-Rex getting her energy back.
I saw your videos in I.G and she did indeed look very full of energy!
Glad she is better now
I love dog’s play bows!! She must be feeling good!
Glad to see T-Rex is better! That’s fantastic news!
Hurray for T-Rex feeling better and acting like herself again!
T-Rex is one of the unofficial mascots of NST. Glad she is back to her old self!
So true.
Royal Oud today, just because. 🙂
Good enough reason!
You smell wonderful. And you will 6 or 8 hours from now, too! 😉
It’s unspeakably hot and humid here. Wearing Timbuktu.
It was so gross here yesterday I might just not even open the door today.
Chuckles. In my area too Robin. Wish I had someone to blame so I could vent.
You smell superb.
Wearing Ferre on my wrists and a spritz each of Meteorites and Zeste de Soleil on my upper arms. I have a meeting in an hour and no one will know how wafty I currently am…
“I didn’t over spray, I am just Wafty!” LOL. I must try out this Zeste de Soleil…
Wafty: meredifay-NST: you heard it here first.
“Wafty” is a great word, I’m adopting it immediately!
Continuing Atelier week in Vetiver Fatal and Poivre Electrique. PE is just a lot of different peppers on me. There months be something minty or piney, but it’s a definite no. VF leads with a bunch of bright citrus, and then it’s hello fig! I like Tom Ford Grey Vetiver edt…it’s more subtle. The TF has been on my list for awhile.
Tea of the day is still Taylors Scottish Breakfast tea + use it up oolong.
Happy Tuesday everyone. ?
I am accruing a rather large collection of use it up teas!
Yesterday was a hot, humid, miserable day weather wise. I woke up in Nuda and switched to a tiny dab of no 19 extrait.
Not humid here but just plain hot. High 90s and triple digits for the foreseeable future. Ugh!
Gonna have a nice cup of tea for Afternoon Tea Week after my training.
Right now I’m in Komorebi by Pierre Guillaume.
Hope the training went well!
Osmanthe Yunnan which I’ve decided is almost perfect. I just love this one and will be sorely sad when my sample is gone. It was a large manufacturer’s sample but I’ve almost drained it.
At least they are somewhat easy to come by in swaps etc. since Hermes is so generous in handing them out. I hope you’ll find another one stat!
I bet you smell wonderful, wishing you get another large sample or a travel spray?
SOTM is Ubar. Sparkley lemons. Maybe I get a partial credit for the CP for being in the citrus family? Certainly not creamy. More like lemonade than lemon meringue pie.
Still working on my coffee. Have a cat on my back, again. He’s still very proud of himself.
Today I have two “meetings.” Suddenly, my schedule is filled up for the coming weeks. Anyone who thinks teachers get two months “off” is welcome to take a look at my calendar. So much work to do on any year, but especially now.
Included in my coming days needs to be moving back into my classroom. Pre-pandemic, my school was under construction, updating the 50 year old HVAC system, amongst other things. We all had to pack up and move out when it became clear we wouldn’t be there to help get things out of the way. My classroom is typically full of fun and exciting science doodads. Not sure how much of that stuff to put back out! Will I see kids in my room this year? Maybe I should leave it more spare, in case we have to clean everything exposed every day?
I’m probably the worst offender but we have a clean desk policy. I have my own in the office and to me, as long as I don’t leave any work stuff out in the open … but no, clean desk is nothing but the tech and peripherals. When most of us were working remotely (still the case), every office space went through a deep cleaning and the cleaning company boxed up everything on the desks, labeled the boxes and left them under the desk. I hope in the open seating area people remember where they last sat before they stopped going in!
I do love my piles of stuff on my desk. However, bigger challenges are all the manipulatives I use to teach science. Example–when I teach density, I have 3 identical plastic bottles, one filled with cotton balls, one with water and one with nails. They all have the same volume but different masses. Very easy for kids to *get* the concept of density. So, I leave those out so they have experience with it when we talk about it.
Of course, I can NOT leave it out, but there’s absolutely no substitute for that kind of practical demonstration for abstract concepts in science. I have so many other examples. Plus microscopes, student projects, little experiments they can try on their own, etc, etc. It’s an essential part of how I teach and connect kids with the content.
Absolutely! Is there an option for extra storage inside the classroom?
During normal times, that’s up for ongoing debate. Every few years, some principal or superintendant gets their panties in a bunch over our personal, mismatched shelves and such and makes teachers get rid of anything not purchased by the district. Then that stuff slowly moves back into classrooms because the rooms weren’t designed with enough built-in storage. With construction, I have no idea what my room will look like. I know they took out some stuff. Hopefully that means they added new storage instead of leaving it empty space!
Don’t most schools have one of those disinfecting fogger machines?
Haha. Yes, Petunia, and great big UV-C lights. 😉
I am also a science teacher, but I’m going to keep my classroom surfaces as bare as possible this year. I don’t want to have to either be saying “don’t touch the topographic models” all the time or having to sterilize something if a kid gets too interested in it. I’m going to be cleaning enough as is once we leave virtual school.
I wonder how much cleaning we all will be required to do. It’s really hard to imagine all the surfaces getting their due. Kids touch EVERYTHING.
Oh yeah. I am going to reduce temptation and keep my surfaces empty.
This week is my go to the hospital and hide in my office week. I put on Vivacious at home, such a good name for this scent. However, after compulsively washing my hands every 45 minutes, it had faded away by 10:00. 🙁
I didn’t notice that it disappeared so quickly when I tried it out at home, but I used up the end of my decant, so perhaps I had applied with a more liberal hand before? Anyway, this disappearing act calls into question if I will make a FB purchase of this.
Rummaged in my drawers and found a manufacturer’s 3 ml spray sample of Do Son, so now I have established a Tuberose barricade around me for the rest of the day. 🙂
I am on my lunch hour, and all I want to do is pick out counter samples for my fantasy kitchen redo, although I have really decided, that if I ever won the lottery and actually did redo my kitchen, I would go with soapstone. Utterly durable. I need things around me that last and last, and cannot be harmed by adorable hubbie’s experiments with chemicals and fire…
‘
8 sprays for me for all day wear. Also, do you wash your hands at home as often as you wash them while in the office?
When I am at the hospital, I wash my hands every 45 minutes or hour, whether I touched anything or not. I read a best practices email from some big clinic that said they had found that washing your hands on a hourly schedule, so that you had washed your hands at least 10 times a day, reduced your chances of getting infected by 90%. At home, I don’t do it so often, but when I touch stuff I haven’t already sanitized with 10% bleach or a spray of 90% isopropyl alcohol, I wash my hands just to be safe, so probably still 6 or 7 times a day.
I’m going to remember this for ywhenever they make us return to in-person teaching.
90% isopropyl alcohol is great in that it dries quickly, does not damage most fabrics, and stinks enough that the uninitiated perceive it as “strong” and therefore “doing something.”
Tell us more about the experiments – it sounds exciting at your house!
LOL! Far more exciting to read about them later than participate in them…
We have manufactured quartz countertops in our kitchen, and we like them a lot. It seems pretty durable–one tiny chip from when something heavy fell down from a shelf above it. No stains, doesn’t require sealant, etc. Just another material to consider. 😉
Adorable hubby once took a large pan of very hot maple syrup off the stove and set it on the lovely (until then) maple countertop. Hence my need for something that can withstand temperatures in excess of 230 degrees. 🙂
Oops. Hot maple syrup sounds good, though.
Uh oh!
I’m in Berdoues Scorza di Sicilia, which is quite nice despite being short-lived. I don’t see it available many places any more. And maybe I get half a point for the orange.
My tea is cafe au lait and my treat is homemade peach galette which is absolutely amazing if I do say so myself. 🙂
I bet your galette is wonderful!
I would like a slice of the galette, too
The Peach galette sounds yummy!
It’s so good. No added sugar (other than a bit of marmalade that I glazed the top with). Are you back home after your procedure?
Love the tea sets!
SOTD = Guerlain L’Heure Blanche
? except it doesn’t last long so will wear something else later.

Lots to do and I hope to make a dent on organizing and preparing things to donate as well as throw out stuff. My goal is to at least be able to donate by tomorrow.
Our places to donate have become limited and when I went to Goodwill last weekend the line of cars to donate was 5 blocks long, no exaggeration. I’ll try again during the week – maybe tomorrow. I do love the feeling of organizing and donating.
I saw the lines too on the weekends so I am determined to donate a chunk tomorrow!
Good luck! I have a few bags sitting around all over the house and need to call for an appointment to bring them in to the local cancer thrift store. Your post may have just given me the motivation to finally pick up the phone!
I hope to have a car full…I have to let go!
I called the cancer store (that’s where I mostly donate and shop) and got a lengthy lecture on how selective they now are etc. – it was a bit awkward. I always thought I already did a good job of only donating what can be sold, but they laid down the law! Nothing older than 5 years, pristine condition, etc.
? Just like Big Brothers Big Sisters. I suppose you have to take out that valuable antique that you would rather donate than find a market for it ??♀️
L’Heure Bleue doesn’t last for you?! It’s at least a 6 hour scent for me, maybe more. And I know we both spray lavishly. . .
L’Heure Bleue lasts but L’Heure Blanche, which I’m wearing today, does not. They don’t feel or smell related other than the name.
Ack! Sorry. Clearly read that too quickly! 😀
Better keep an eye on the weather for your task tomorrow… I heard that it was going to be more unsettled than today was. Stay dry! ☔⚡
I have decreased motivation coupled with an increased desire to shop.? ? Debating if I “need” anything from the Nordstrom sale like the Nars lip balm set and/or the TF Lost Cherry travel spray.
I did not pull the trigger on any Vihelm perfumes samples yet but appreciate all the feedback in the weekend poll. High niche prices annoy me in general but I do like to sniff and sample the wares. 🙂
Boucheron Vanille de Zanzibar today…just keep swimming!
Dearest – no need to buy Vilhelm samples. I can make you samples from my FB, travel sprays and pass along at least one manufacturer’s sample. I just placed an order for the 3mL atomizers so will be ready to flex my decanting muscles once they get here. I held out from ordering as the only 3mL atomizers I like are from SKS Bottles and they had been out of stock for a looong time – I had been checking twice a week for the past 2 months (I did not trust the email me when they’re back in stock feature).
Your generosity is always so wonderful!? Maybe there’s something new/newer in my stash I can send in return. I will make a list of some of my newer acquisitions and shoot you an email in the next week or so. I have a huge bag of 3 ml sprays from Accessories for Fragrances that I can’t seem to make a dent in…they are decent but not spectacular. I can send you a couple empty to test for Science too. 😉
Sounds like a plan!
Thanks for putting Boucheron Vanille de Zanzibar! It sounds like something that would check all my Vanilla boxes!
SMN Russa to combat an absolute sauna of a day outside!
I got a 3L bin of Ontario peaches over the weekend and they’ve all ripened and are simply marvelous!
I’ve been eating them left right and center, but will put the rest into a peach crisp tonight as Mr. Teebear has a mild stone fruit allergy and can’t enjoy them til they’re cooked.
I might have to go in search of local peaches. That sounds wonderful!
My cousin’s wife also has a stone fruit allergy and she tends to cook them or grill them as part of a barbecue.
I’ve been crazy busy lately trying to move and start this school year (our first day is on Monday! Yikes) so I haven’t even had time to read NST. But I’m taking a little break and thought I’d pop in. My scent today is Brooklyn by Galivant. Cheerful and happy and creamsicle-ish!
You smell great…Brooklyn is one of my favorites in that line. Good luck and big hugs for Monday!
Good luck with the start of the year, Sistine! Do you feel that you’ve been given the materials/tools you need to start off strong?
Well, not exactly. But that’s because I’ve started working at a new district (in another state at that) and won’t actually get access to my staff email until Thursday. ?. But I’m experienced enough to know exactly what I have to do the second I get access to that Google for education suite.
Honestly, I don’t think anyone who’s starting a school year virtually has enough tools/ support. But I’m happy to be teaching freshmen so we can all go through the weirdness if starting at a new school without being on campus together!
Good luck on your first day in the new state / new school district!
Thank you! At least I can wear as much as perfume as I want with no possible complaints.
I’ve never received a complaint from a coworker–teachers are so independent in their rooms–but kids sure let me know if they don’t like my fragrances!
I’m wearing Nuit Etoilée in an unsuccessful effort to combat the heat.
Currently very busy planning my move to Luxemburg with Covid 19 on the rise in Europe again as well. Fingers crossed I can get it all sorted before they close the borders again.
I have found a nice place to live, very expensive but still affordable and have been too preoccupied to comment on here. I still read on here every now and again. I often even forget to wear perfume.
I hope everyone is as well as they can be.
Good luck with all the changes, exciting times.
Good luck with everything!
Hope you can move without complicatiions. Nuit Etoilée is a great scent
Goodluck with the move Austenfan, hope all goes smoothly!
Good luck!
Moving can be a 24/7 job. Hope you’re able to slide right into the new home and get settled with minimum hassle.
Big change! Best of luck with everything!
Good luck with this big step, Austenfan! So exciting ?
I admire you for your courage to follow your dreams, even though its not an easy step. Especially in times like these.
?
I also forgot to wear perfume on some days during last few weeks. ? Whoops!
But not today…. ?
Wow, hoping that you have a smooth and easy move! Good luck! ???
Good luck with your move! Be safe.
So glad you found a nice place! Fingers crossed for your move, hope it all goes smoothly.
Late to the party
Sorry, havent posted for a while. Miss you all!
I have been incredibly busy at work and socially as well. but i am totally fine and enjoying a vacation right now.
‘L’ame perdue’ for me this evening, i am heading out for dinner in a right now…..in France. ???
I hope all is well!
Stay safe! ?
Hi jiji,
Hope your enjoying your holiday in France. What’s L’ame Perdue like?
Its a great warm spicy floral. Very versatile, wearable, never boring. One of my favourite discoveries of this year. Also ask Austenfan, who probably has a better description ?
Thanks jiji, sounds wonderful!
Enjoy your vacation Jiji!
Vintage Shalimar Parfum de Toilette, an ebay bargain! It’s wonderful, softer than the decant of the (non vintage, I think) edp I have, so the opening notes aren’t as in your face. Lasting power is not super, but I don’t mind. Now I’m tempted to go further down that rabbit hole – it’s pretty easy to find vintage edc versions of the scent, and I’m reading that they are very different and very good. Plus, that Shalimar cologne by Wasser sounds interesting and Fragrancenet has it….oh boy!
You smell supergood, I love the parfum de toilette most of all my Shalimar bottles.
It’s getting hot 32C today, I feel for all of you dealing with heat and humidity, I spent twelve summers in NYC, just awful but also fun, melting times.
In the refreshing Caligna, all fig and pine needles.
Robin, you smell great.
Oh, fig and pine needles sound wonderful!
It is lovely, underrated I think, and a chameleon perfume on my skin.
Why thank you!
I’m decidedly fragrant today in five sprays of Amoureuse. It’s a powerhouse so in a word I reek. Yesterday I read the old post with suggestions of creamsicle scents and it was in there. I was so surprised that I had to get mine out and try it today. Hmm! Yes it has a strong tangerine opening, and creamy florals. It’s just a bit too spicy though to count. But hey, any excuse to wear this beautiful perfume!
We had a good writing seminar this morning. The teacher wants us to try the six-word writing challenge. Someone, maybe Hemingway?, wrote this: “Baby shoes for sale. Never used.”
Uh! Those six word are a very effective punch in the gut.
Ooh, I love the challenge. I’ve borrowed a collection of < 100 word short stories.
Yowza! Waft this way, please!
Niki de Saint Phalle, because someone wore it yesterday and it’s great in every weather. Still very hot in Germany, over 30C…. Just want to drink water and sit in front of my fan
Seriously too hot & humid here to do much else.
SotD = Assam of India
for tea for Tuesday and because it’s warming up around here.
Also because elephants! youtube somehow thinks I want to watch nothing but videos of baby elephants. They are cute, but gosh-good-golly the internet can be weird sometimes. 😉
happy Tuesday-Bluesday to everyone!
If you love videos of elephants, have you heard about the story of two retired circus elephants Shirley and Jenny? Youtube video below. Have a tissue ready, it’s a tear jerker.
https://youtu.be/J0Z_vRYQ_Sg
oh goodness, that is an amazing story! thank you for sharing 😉
The Internet sometimes has a way of concentrating the weird in one’s direction!
hahaha! yes, the internet can be a funnel for weird. I was doing a youtube video of yoga with Adriene today, and she said “we’re all about the weird here.” 😀
The first cases of Covid in 100 days have turned up in the community here. Disappointing, but inevitable. There will be limited restrictions in my part of the country for now at least.
I’m heading off to work shortly, supported by generous amounts of Mito EdP. I’ve got a new staff member starting today, which is not ideal timing.
Once again, I’ve got lots of NST to catch up on 🙂
I was sorry to see that on the news, especially since it appears mysterious where it came from.
Oh no, just when NZ has not had a case in 100 days!
Oh crap. I’m seriously bummed out to hear that.
I heard that. So sorry.
More stinking hot and humid weather today, so I’m weather twin to a lot of other NSTers. However, I did have the weirdest little rain shower just pop up out of nowhere earlier this afternoon. No wind, no thunder or lightning, just rain for maybe 10 minutes.
SOTD = back in Iris Nazarena. This weather seems to call out for a quiet iris perfume right now.
I had the weird pop up shower too and yep, still stinking hot! ?
Unfortunately, no cool down with that shower at all. The humidity is still trying to crawl in under the front door…
And I managed to get a walk in so perhaps I am building a tolerance for the hot and humid ?? With that said, it makes me appreciate my central A/C even more!
You smell great today Jalapeno!
Thank you!
Am I crazy or is this the worst Mid Atlantic summer ever?
Somewhere around early June I started thinking that this was going to be a long hot summer.
The worst mid-Atlantic summer I can recall was in 1995. But this one is definitely up there on the “YUCK!” scale. Top 5?
Gracious, I can’t remember 1995! So I am going to take your word for it.
Wearing Annick Goutal’s Musc Nomade, soft and powdery musk. 🙂
One of my favorite musk perfumes!
SOTD Avon Rare Pearls. It was a random grab and I think I have two different editions but had no idea what it smelled like. It was an interesting trip, and I would wear it again for sure. I just had to get through blast-O-pepper-fresh freshness! That newer Avon “sandalwood” accord comes out a bit strong, but I stayed for (I used Fragrantica as my guide) a wonderful magnolia, plum, and rosewood accord in the drydown. I sort of got used to the sandalwood that is in the newer Avons, even finding it comforting. I looked up rosewood and found that what Fragrantica calls rosewood is a note in Dune, one of my top 10; I could get whiffs of that in little ol’ Rare Pearls purse spray. A fun ‘fume for a very busy day at work.
Yay for a fun and reasonably priced find!
SOTD double-dipping today with Chris Rusak Timbre EDP. ??. Green, woody and sharply citrusy.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CDw1PaiBfl3/?igshid=10qnjrh6ssncg
Nice bottle. ?
It is simple yet it has its place.
Tam Dao EDP again today. I am stuck in a groove with this one.
Hi there! Nothing wrong with a good smelling and calming perfume groove!
?
Ooh, I’ve gone hog-wild with tea purchases lately, and have built up a rather embarassingly large stash. Today is my day! (And every other day I drink tea, which is…every other day.)
I started the day wearing Eau des Merveilles – one of my “why don’t I wear this more often?”s – and ended it in Ralph Lauren Polo, after finally crossing it off my To-Buy list today. I know there are people who consider Polo dated, but my fingers are firmly in my ears around any such talk. I think it’s drop-dead gorgeous, particularly in the colder months, when its pine and tobacco accords really sing.
Hi! In Robin’s earlier post about creamsicle fragrances, she listed Fendi Theorema, so I dabbed a bit on from a sample. I enjoyed the fragrance.
I ended up going through several of the bookcases upstairs to find some older gardening books. Past-me had acquired a number of old gardening books. Just little while after I’d settled down to read to read, the lights went out. Fortunately, I still have that habit of keeping flashlights around, and I had a box of candles there, too. 🙂
