French niche line Pierre Guillaume will launch Spicematic, a new entry in the Collection Rework series. Spicematic is a variation on 2006's Harmatan Noir, and follows 2016's Indian Wood. Also new to the brand: Mad About You and Anti-Blues.
11.2 Spicematic ~ "Driven by the spicy-aromatic vibe of saffron, fresh ginger and green mint, this “marble water” has the shine and hardness of rock. Its mineral and cold character, emanating from a molecular distillation of incense, intense, fusing and precise is tempered by the organic vibration of Red Cedar and the resinous heat of Siberian pine." In 50 and 100 ml.
Mad About You ~ Black Collection. "Composed in 2017 for the exhibition "The Kiss" Gallery Christiane Valley, in resonance with the works of Anthony SQUIZZATO and the news of Cécile COULON. Pierre GUILLAUME presented us a Woody Gourmand Floral fragrance crystallizing not without humor and distance the concept of Neo-Romanticism at the time of the social networks. After a burst of regressive gourmet chords and powdery floral notes, Mad About You develops a signed and catchy trail, fueled by the "leather-powdery" sophistication of a unique duet of Bois de Violette and Absolue Thé Noir." In 50 ml.
Anti-Blues ~ Confidential Collection; 2019. "Through a vapor of Incense mixed with Vetiver, the woody bitterness of Cacao Wood, Saffron and Amyris rises. Anti-Blues deploys its greedy and dark nature by stretching its olfactory spectrum from the smell of Hay and Dark Chocolate to the animal nuances of a Vanilla hemmed with Leather and Tobacco. Pierre Guillaume revisits the structure "Dark Gourmand" characteristic of his first creations and performs a warm and mineral woody scent By contrasting the animal vibration of dark chocolate with the urban coldness suggested by the notes of frankincense, saffron and vetiver, the perfumer, influenced by the work of Monory, composes a painting with a dark and electric atmosphere." In 100 ml.

Oh good heavens. “Regressive gourmet chords” and “animal vibration of dark chocolate” huh. Well at least it is “not without humour”. Oh, and “distance”. I sure hope this was marginally more comprehensible to humans in its original language.
I would assume it was written in French and mostly machine translated, yes.
It’s because of the social networks. The first and last sound good.
I had trouble getting through those sentences, but I find this to be a very good brand. Is it really that difficult to find a public relations person who can write English Prose. For example:
Spiceomatic: Opens with a cool union of fresh spices: Saffron, ginger and fresh mint. They are joined with a warm base of incense, fused with red cedar and pine. The cool and warm play off each other for a shimmering masculine effect.
I like the brand too, although I’m woefully behind.
I love reading the robot translations of perfume copy. It cracks me up!
Also, Mad About You is unfortunately only conjuring up images of Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser for me ?
So…where can one purchase Spicematic in the US? Thanks in advance!
When it launches, try Luckyscent or Osswald.
Thank you, Robin! Any idea when it’s supposed to launch?
So sorry but I don’t know, and am out of town and don’t have access to the press release. (But I think if it had said, I would have included that info. Can’t swear to it though.)
All good and no worries. I appreciate your efforts!
