If someone is near an Yves Rocher store I would love to hear about this the the snowy holiday scents. I can only buy online, and YR seems to have a tradition that one of the two holiday scents is nice and the other…less so.

Hi AnnieA! I’ll pop into YR when I am back at work tomorrow. There is a shop across the street from my office. The pine tree one looks interesting!

Hi all… I stopped by the store today for a sniff! They had everything from the candles to the lip balms. First Snowflakes to me was a soft, vanilla-ish type of scent. I could not detect almond in it all. As for At the Heart of Pine Trees, no particular note stood out – it was very subtle. I tested the different products to see if one of them carried the scent better but to me, no luck. I have to say there are so many scents swirling around the shop it was hard to determine any notes unless you test after leaving… maybe outside in the fresh air! I’ll try again next time I’m there. What I would recommend though is the Argan Rose Gift Set with 5 products. I’m not a big rose fan but I really love the Bath and Shower Gel. Here is a link showing what is included:

Lovely, I’ve heard good things about the Argan Rose. Thanks!

Thanks, V! Sounds like the upshot is that both were innocuous but unexciting. Not sure whether that is better than their usual one=nice/one=eek! holiday selection. Will keep the Argan Rose in mind…

Yay viridiaan, I am very curious too! The pine candle probably won’t kill my lemming for the Diptyque holiday pine candle, but you never know :-)

    OK! Listen y’all!
I’ve been to Yves Rocher last week and I convinced the SA to pull these 2 from the backroom.

First Snowflakes line is all milky white in color while the scent is a very light almond with vanilla custard undertone. Not overly sweet but rather light.

I liked At the Heart of Pine Trees much more – it’s an aromatic concoction. It gives you the idea of pine that is far from any toilet cleaning product but actually when I smelled, it was more like cedarwood & orange. Also one of the brochures I got describe the scent as such. Maybe it’s those plus a pine needle note to make it more balanced? It surely is more memorable than the almond.

Thanks for the report, L! . That gives me more to work on. Funny they were in the backroom when they are being splashed all over their website…

Here they are officially available since November 14, so not yet. That’s why they were not all over the shelves yet.
