Happy Almost-Friday! It's also Pumpkin Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
The house is venerable, but the Eau is modern, and named for the address of its flagship. Can you guess?
Reminder: 10/27 will be Guessing Game Friday. Describe your perfume to us, OR, give your perfume the name it ought to have had, and we'll see if we can guess what it is.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I have been away from posting with some unpleasant health news, but today, I decided to slide back in.
My SOTD from a “Noble” house, would remind you of a one crust apple pie with a swirl of caramel and beautiful twists of vanilla and cinnamon.
So sorry you’ve had bad news!
So sorry to hear of you health issues.
Is your SOTD La Danza delle Libellule? If so, I hope it brings you comfort and you smell great!
Yes. I have the regular, not the “Exceptionelle” which seems flat. with too much vanilla for me.
I’m sorry you have gotten some bad news. I’m glad you are here.
I have no idea what you are wearing, but I’m looking forward to learning!
Sending love and support! And guessing that a “Donna” is noble (a stretch I know) I’ll guess Be Delicious?
Hat-tip for your Doctor Who reference.
As a fellow Whovian, I’d love to say you are correct, but is is Nobile 1942 La Danza delle Libellule.
Petunia guessed it
So sorry to hear about the bad news health – I hope for the best for you!
I’m really hoping that the bad health news can be managed. Thinking of you.
I’m sorry for your unpleasant health news. Glad you took the time to slide back in today. Wishing the best for you.
Wishing you the best!
Sending you healing and peaceful thoughts
Sorry to hear this. May you get well very soon!
I hope you find a way through your health issues. Good luck.
Glad you’ve decided to come by and hoping for all the best for you.
Sorry hannahmom. Hugs for you.
So sorry about the tough news, hope things turn out better than expected.
Chanel darling, it must be Chanel
Guerlain, Austenfan got it below 🙂
Robin is it 31 Rue cambon?
“The world turns and we turn with it,” “but wherever I go; there you are.”
That quote is from a funny ad a long time ago for the guessing game. What am I wearing?
Breakfast steel cut oats, tea is french press coffee, DVF wrap dress with leggings and cherry lips
Austenfan got it, it’s Guerlain Cologne du 68 🙂
And I don’t know yours! Won’t cheat by googling.
Isn’t that Chanel No.5 with that awful Brad Pitt ad?
Ding Ding!
You win
The perfume is from the fragrance coffret they put out awhile back from the 90’s. This before they butchered it. Smells great!
Haha! Made me smile. Forgot about that.
Oh how could I forget that?!?
such an unbelievably corny ad!
I know!
I do love some ads for perfumes, my favorite being the Shalimar one
https://vimeo.com/73222835
The “guy liner” on “Shah Jahan” is very sexy. IMHO
Woah! Feel like I just watched Shalimar the movie! He is sexy, love the beginning most of all, thanks for sharing 🙂
your welcome
When I watched it before posting the link it makes me want to light incense
Cologne du 68! which I’ve never tried.
Oh, and I’m wearing a fruity, creamy rose which was described as one of the more commercial fragrances of this line which presumably helps keep it afloat.
PdN Balkis?
Yep!!
Oh, would never have gotten that.
In hindsight I realise that the keeping afloat bit refers to Balle de Match. That review comes right after the Balkis one in The Guide and both reviews are very similar so I got confused!
Interesting, because I had thought Balkis got axed, right? Which would mean it probably wasn’t keeping them afloat.
Yep, you got it!
Oh wondrous elixir, how I love you in the fall.
Could it be Aromatics Elixir or Youth Dew?
It could be, but it’s not. I love and wear both Aromatics Elixer and Youth Dew year ’round, even in the Texas summer.
Or perhaps Elixir des Merveilles?
It is Elixir des Merveilles. I love this, but only in the cooler weather.
Yoo-hoo Michael! Yo Gabriel! Hey Clarence! Did you hear a bell ringing? You guys smell heavenly!
Calling all Angels?
Yes! ????
yay! my son was born on the feast of the archangels, regret not giving him an angelic middle name!
That was pretty cute 🙂
(I didn’t know there was an angel named Clarence.)
There isn’t, mentioning Clarence is an obsure reference to the movie, It’s a wondferful life. Clarence helps George Bailey to realize how beloved he is by family and community, thereby, earning his wings. It’s an old b&w christmas movie. One of my favorites.
Haha, of course 🙂 I don’t think I’ve seen that movie in well over a decade!
You win the creativity award for this week’s project.
It’s just my wonky brain. Memorizing notes and perfumers isn’t my cup of tea. For example, I have always thought of MPN as “The Precious”. This week has been fun for me.
Guessing game:
An NST favorite that’s perfect for coworkers with sensitive noses… or for guerilla warfare. Unisex.
No 19?
Even coworker-friendlier.
Infusion d’Iris?
Even coworker-friendlier.
Something will vanilla?
This is a hard one!
And here I thought the guerilla warfare would be a dead giveaway. Here are some more hints: I woke up in it, and lots of my coworkers are wearing it too!
Flowerbomb?
Ha, nice, but no. To narrow it down from the responses so far, it does not have green, or iris, or vanilla, or flowers. And although it does get mentioned here a lot, I probably shouldn’t have called it a “favorite” because I think most of us would rather be wearing something else.
You’re commando!!
There it is! 🙂
Hahahaha of course! You guys are too clever for me.
LOL!!! Excellent.
B.0? Maybe get you some deodorant? lol
Haha! Pretty darn close. I admit I’m counting deodorant as commando.
Bvlgari Black?
Love it! But no – Elisa P. guessed it above.
Very clever! Love this!
Hilarious!
SOTD circa 2006. So sharp and smooth at the same time, I think of it as a more feminine version of Terre d’Hermes.
I don’t know what this is but it sounds great!
Sel de vetiver 🙂
Another Hermes? Un Jardin sur le Nil? Or Vetiver fragrance like Guerlain Vetiver?
No, but it does have vetiver in its name
Vetiver Pour Elle?
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver?
no, but wow, Vetiver pour elle is a beautiful presentation.
Sel de vetiver 🙂
Vetiver tonka?
Sel de vetiver 🙂
Vetiver Extraordinaire?
Sel de vetiver 🙂
I smell like what my grandmother used to call Russian Tea – lightly spiced black tea with just a smidgeon of milk. Its name references a season, but I think the scent is seasonless.
This is not a guess but you suddenly made me miss my decant so much of Christopher Brosius’s Russian Tea scent!
Whatever you are wearing I think I should try it:)
Me too!
The Pour un Ete?
Yes! That’s the one. 🙂
Woohoo!
L’Eau d’Hiver?
No, but now I have to go back and retry it with spiced tea in mind – you could be on to something!
Happy Thursday! I’m wearing a soft sheer leather scent, nothing smoky or tarry here. It makes me think of soft gloves or a handbag.
Cuir de Lancôme?
Nope, another Cuir…!
Cuir de Russie?
Cuir d’Ange?
Yes! We have a winner!
Bottega Veneta?
Off topic:
Do you suffer from online shopping cart fatigue? I fill my cart at a discounter site, it gets so full I know I can’t buy everything, but I desire all the perfume equally, so I get nothing.
So, I’m moving on to find something I will REALLY want, so I am trying to hone in on some rose scents – spicy, chypre, etc. So far I know I definitely would like to sample:
Caron Parfum Sacre
Lubin Black Jade
Lancôme Mille et une Roses
I’d like to order a few more, any suggestions?
Black Jade is really nice
Are you looking to try things that are found at discounters or any price range?
No any price range, just trying to do some more due diligence and sample so I can hopefully find something I love, rather than just buying to buy.
Well, in that case:
Robert Piguet Calypso
Frederic Malle Une Rose and Portrait of a Lady
Dior Prive Gris Montaigne
Papillon Tobacco Rose
Nishane Istanbul Rosa Turca
Perris Monte Carlo Rose de Taif
Tauer Rose Delight body oil and Un Rose Chypree
Anne Gerard Rose Cut
Should I stop? ????
No! this is fantastic, thank you so much! I’ll take a few more if you have them, then I’ll have more than enough to research before a sample purchase – thank you!!
And Tauerville Rose Flash! (Excellent list, Elisa! I still need to try Rose de Taif and Gris Montaigne!)
Coin-Op, adding SSS Rose Musc.
MFK Oud Satin Mood
MDCI Rose de Siwa
Aerin Evening Rose
SHL 777 Rose de Petra
Pacifica Persian Rose
Rosine Rose Kashmirie (hard to find samples of this, though).
Vero Rozy
I kinda like rose ????
Oh, and
Penhaligon’s Elixir (just got this in a swap and really like it).
forgot to add a comma – any price range = good
Adding my two scents…
Tauer, Phi Une Rose de Kandahar
Providence Perfume, Rose Boheme.
And seconding so many of the scents already mentioned.
Mohur!!! <–rich & spicy and the best thing ever
Rose Anonyme <–creamy and enveloping
Kashnan Rose <–sweet, light, and citrusy
I love rose. So much.
thanks! those were not on my radar at all.
Amouage Beloved
Smell Bent Prairie Nymph
thank you!
And Amouage Lyric, too! (Speaking of Amouages.) Heavy, spicy, incense-sandalwood rose!
How did I forget Lyric? And why haven’t I worn it in months?
Because it’s been summer! I don’t know about you, but when I wear Amouages in the summer, I want to die. Insta-migraine.
Seconding the FM roses Elisa P mentioned, and I would add Paestum Rose from Eau d’Italie.
PR is a nice one.
I’d like to add TF’s Noir de Noir and Ormonde Jayne Ta’if- both roses that I love.
Thanks Kelly C! Happy I can hopefully try the Tom Ford at Nordstrom as well 🙂
If you like high quality musc, The Rising Phoenix Rose Musc Attar pretty much surpasses any rose I have (and I have almost all the roses mentioned above). The samples are pretty pricey, but a couple of drops is all you need. Also sadly sold out Areej le Dore Ottoman Empire.
Thank you – is this the same line that is available on Etsy?
Yosh Sottile.
OK, I’ll give this a whirl… Subtle smoke at the opening giving way to rich leather. Soft, floral drydown. Ultra-classy, and dates back to the days of speakeasies and bobbed hair.
Caron Tabac Blonde?
That was going to be my guess, except I don’t really get smoke from it and on me the drydown isn’t so much floral as vanilla-y.
I’m not wearing Cuir de Russie, but are you? 🙂
Yes indeed!
Daime Blonde by SL?
Good morning Y’all…..
Wearing Calvin Klein Truth today……won’t be home until late tonight, so needed something with longevity! Truth lasts forever on my skin….
Hark! Friday approaches! 🙂
And I am ready for this week to be done!
Today’s SOTD is au The Blanc by Bvlgari….
Mmm, you smell good.
Hello,
glad to be back after a long absence.
Wearing Coach Leatherware No1.
I have a question and hopefully someone can help: Does anyone know if Costume National fragrances are sold in Canada? (Toronto or Montreal)
Glad to have you back! But cannot help you with the shopping.
I have not seen them in Montreal.
Luca Turin described this citrus scent as “pale,” and gave it one star. I love it anyway. One can have their name printed on the label, but mine is from a decant.
Le Labo Bergamote ?
You got it!
Nice, and I love it too!
Luca isn’t ALWAYS right! 😉
Not always right by a longshot, but always entertaining!
You were much more generous with your clues than I was with this one! I can see calling it boring but I don’t find it pale. I think he is disdainful of the brand, in general.
My sotd is a scent i have never seen mentioned here or on other blogs/forums. So I dont think playing the guessing game today makes sense.
I am wearing Ophelia by Heeley, a white flower scent that is safe for work (kinda watery, not indolic). It was a cheap blind buy, its very nice but i dont wear it that often.
But it made me decide: no more blind buys!
Kinda watery – that’s funny, in a macabre sort of way.
Hahahaha. Good catch. I didn’t make the connection on my own 🙂
Ooh. You’re right! I wonder if that was intentional?
My scent today is feminine, floral, elegant, untouchable. One flower in its name, but many in its smell. To me, it smells like a Chanel but it’s not a Chanel.
Clue #2 – Perfumer is Pierre Bourdon.
FM Iris Poudre?
I thought that would do it. Yes, FM Iris Poudre.
How do you like Iris Poudre in comparison to other irises (is that the word?)?
Thursday riddle:
Wearing a perfume from a French brand that has something to do with a history in its name. The perfume name itself features 1 and 4.
Who can guess?
Hmmm… is it 1804 or Ambre 114?
Ambre 114 is a correct guess 🙂
Today’s scent is a vintage (early 70s, I’m guessing by the packaging) version of a fragrance still in production, albeit in a sad and crassly cheapened way. The vintage is creamy and soft, plush as Miss Ellen’s green velvet portieres.
Diorella?
Green
Velvet
Portieres
That put a smile on my face!!
Emeraude
Ding ding!!
Wearing a transparent, gently spiced sandalwood that is made by a house that loves photography.
In fact I would love to purchase the picture that is associated with this scent, but I suspect it is out of print (and way too much $$$s anyway!)
Lumiere Blanche?
YES 😀
Wow, I get very very little sandalwood in that one at all. It’s all creamy cardamom on me. I didn’t even think to call LB a sandalwood scent!
Is it that Phlur one?
Diorella?
opps..that was meant for above!
Cool late fall is here. Time to bring out my one and only Coco edp. My husband loves this too b/c it’s the smell of our first year dating (and PDX memories with him!). Day three of Coco edp.
Great reason for him to love it!
You smell so good!!
*Yawwwwwwwwn* Day 3 of 3 of all-day training. Each day is tougher than the day before.
Today’s scent is from a stalwart of French fragrance. It’s a rich, heavy, spiced rose that smells like a super-expensive dupe of Calligraphy Rose (though I’ll admit I haven’t tried Calligraphy Rose in a while). A pleasant dose of oud and patchouli. The fragrance doesn’t seem pearlescent to me at all!
perles de lalique (only going on your pearl reference!)
Incorrect, but I am thrilled that you understood that the “pearlescent” thing was a hint!
I thought of that but “super expensive” didn’t fit.
Une rose nacrée du désert perhaps?
Woohoo! Congratulations; you got it! 🙂 I am very much enjoying my sample, but I won’t need a FB.
I did and am very glad I got it, it’s a wearable dark rose, I love Songes d’un bois d’été as well.
Wow, that one sounds gorgeous. I should try it!
Leaving for the dentist today. Hopefully I won’t run into any issues. I’m hoping he did get the message that I left with the receptionist and doesn’t give me grief. My crown can wait my medication couldn’t. Wearing Shalimar EDP right now.
Oh good luck to you Dawn!
I hope the trip to the dentist goes well and your medication does the trick.
Twins! We smell super great!
SOTD: It’s an odd mix. I kept layering on more things. Started with Gabriella Chieffo Ragu, which I can’t quite decide if I like. So I added SJP Lovely Sheer, to emphasize the citrus notes. Then I decided I really wanted to emphasize the warm base notes instead, so I added a bit of Chanel No. 5, EDP that I found in a travel atomizer at an antique store.
Eventually you’ll have to settle with what you have 😉
Korres Velvet Orris Violet White Pepper shower gel, Chanel Fresh Body Cream, Misia EDT, Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet 38 La Fascinate.
You are an Iris cumulus cloud (in come hither lippie!)
Sounds lovely!
The last of my tiny vials… never really warmed up to this one but thought I’d give it one more whirl since the drop at the bottom of the sample was too small to pass along…
My SOTD shares it’s name with a famous American song from 1925, lyrics by Irving Caesar. The song’s last stanza is:
We will raise a family,
A boy for you, a girl for me.
Oh, can’t you see
How happy we would be?
If you give up, here’s a link to Thelonious Monk’s interpretation of the song. By comparison, I find the perfume “meh.”
Opps!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvhsSlhnIV0
I cheated and looked! I just got a sample of this, as well, and felt the same: meh. I want my husband to try it because I think I would be great on a man!!
tea for two 🙂
OK, I’m playing…. A perfume house that loves ambroxen, I smell like metal and rose with a dash of patchouli. You might say I smell like a “crazy lady”. Any guesses? On another subject Go Astros!
Juliette has a gun?
Mad Madame?
Ding, ding, ding… You win!
Yep!
Yes, Astros Strong/Houston Strong! Wasn’t the game last night a-MAY-zing?!!
Yes! I’m so mad at Detroit for letting Verlander and Martinez go. I think it’s so awesome though that Verlander will hopefully help get your team the series win!
SotD = Cologne du 68, with thanks to Robin for the inspiration.
Cologne du 68 is delightful. Citrus to start then a gentle meander through flowers, green notes, spices, woods, and more. It’s an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink cologne à la Guerlain. I love it.
I had forgotten that “68” is a tribute to Guerlain’s Champs Elysées address. Clever though not as obvious as 24 Faubourg and 34 boulevard Saint Germain.
Loved seeing that steroscopic image of old Paris at the top of today’s post. Makes me wonder if kids still enjoy View Master toys. I hope so.
Another bit of Oliver Sacks trivia: he enjoyed stereoscopes throughout his life and was a member of the New York Stereoscopic Society.
Good trivia!
It really is delightful, even though I think it’s slight.
I’m in the airport waiting for my night flight:) guess what I’m wearing:)
Ha ha you already predicted it: Vol de Nuit! Have a great skiing trip!
Thank you!
You smell absolutely wonderful
Have a lovely flight, and take care out there on the slopes!
I could still smell last night’s Isabey Lys Noir, so did not put on any fragrance this morning before the gym. Now, I am thinking a cold crisp day deserves a “powdery patchouli” modern oriental that Luca Turin gave four stars. He also said that if such a thing as powdered white chocolate, it would smell like this 2007 scent from a classic French house.
Coromandel?
YES!!
Coromandel?
Oops, didn’t see your reply…
YES!!!
Wearing the not-riddle-worthy Goest Perfumes Smoke and Violets. But it’s definitely a worthy perfume in my book. Smoky leather, soapy violet with a bit of heliotrope for sweetness and a touch of powder. Reminds me a little of PdE Cuir Ottoman, which I also like very much, but I like this one even more.
Sounds really pretty and worthy!
It is and I e-mailed them to see if they had more than a 5ml bottle as an option. They never responded ????
Purple Love Smoke by Soivohle is an option.
Hmmm. Must investigate….
Lemming alert.
If it’s better than Cuir Ottoman, I’ll have to try it!
I’m wearing Burberry The Beat today, and I am about to make a cup of Earl Grey tea.
I have been having a hard time with my allergies, and I finally made the decision to see my doctor about it today. I got a shot and two prescriptions. Hopefully, this will do the trick 🙂
Very good luck! We are tea twins at the moment.
Thank you!
Earl Grey smells almost as good as it tastes 🙂
Yes it does, and the smell is why I especially like the smoky ones. There are some really great tea scents out there, but none of them so far smell as good to me as the dried leaves.
It’s a gorgeous fall day here, and I am wearing a scent that is not really “green,” but it is out of this world!
Alien…?
No…
Vert d’Encens?
No…
Robert Piguet Futur ?
No…
Hint: This was the house’s debut fragrance in 2013.
Moon Bloom!
Oh, good guess! If that’s not it, I don’t know what it could be.
Yes, that’s it!
I wasn’t planning to participate today, just wanted to wear this but I think I kind of qualify. The name of my fragrance is the word for the flower in French. Personally, I think it smells like it, but I’ve been reading The Guide and LT and/or TS claim it smells nothing like it, as it’s one of the flowers that you can’t distill oil from.
(And thanks to all for their well wishes from a couple weeks ago re: my ailing back. I am MUCH improved after 2 weeks of PT and exercises – guess you really do need to keep doing them forever when you have a bad back.!)
One or another Muguet?
Nope! I figured someone would guess that or gardenia. It’s neither of those.
Something with lilac?
Nope! I think I need to give more clues.
Robin – this is one you like and it was created by Isabelle Doyen and Camille Goutal. That should narrow it down a bit!
Ooh Le Chevrefeuille?
Ding ding ding! Winner!
Aha! Right, should have guessed.
I’ve had an interesting perfume week . Alex (husband) has been feeling quite a bit of pain from his shattered pelvis late in the afternoon ( too much hopping around on his zimmer frame during the day so it starts to niggle) and because he’s a sitting duck I’ve been talking with him about perfume and testing some on him…Al Oudh, Tacit, Pohadka….and it’s interesting how the scent has been quite effective in relaxing him or diverting his attention. It probably works as well as a glass or two of wine to take the edge off the discomfort. I should probably hunt down some lavender oil/ perfume. Going to try Monsieur Li on him today to see if sheer but complex perfumes do the trick. He’s got 8 more weeks before he can put weight on his leg so lots of opportunities to test!
Poor Alex 🙁 But silver lining: what a wonderful opportunity for you!
Distraction works wonders, clever project!
Wearing a juicy lemon, with a huge dash of vanilla and rose. Potent, linear, but just delicious! The name it has is just perfect for what it is. Additional hint: it’s shower product is more popular than the actual perfume, at least that’s what I think.
Too easy!
Rose Jam
Couldn’t be Rose Jam, could it now? ????
All right, all right, I was thinking one of the newbie’s might try to answer 😉
I’m so confused! Is that the correct answer? Do you really get juicy lemon from Rose Jam??? Do you get it from the shower gel? I haven’t tried the perfume, but the sweet vanilla rose just blasts any other notes out of the water in the shower gel for me!
Morning, all. Late again…this sleeping thing is becoming quite a habit. I was so late waking that three small indignant personages were lined up outside the bedroom door demanding to know What Time Did I Call This To Be Giving Kittens Their Breakfast. Eric has the local representative of the Kitten Union on speed dial…calls were about to be made, I gather.
Perfume. So. It’s warm and soft, and it takes me on a gentle journey in a fairly easterly direction. I haven’t worn it a lot lately, but I love it. I am wearing it hoping that it will help soothe That Student—I have another meeting with her at 9.30, to try to convince her that attacking the examiners is not the same as defending her work. It was probably healthier for the outcome of the viva when she was attacking me instead. I hated this supervision; dreaded every meeting because she was so passively unimaginative, yet so aggressively (and often wrongly) convinced of her own ability. All I want is for her to go through the viva, do her amendments and disappear out of my life. I am, for sure, a dreadful person, but at least I smell delicious!
My perfume today isn’t much of a guess, but have fun. Be well, all.
Good luck with your meeting…sounds a chore. Buy yourself a nice cake or pastry for lunch and take the afternoon off!
Perfume…Black Cashmere?
No, not BC. More of a West—east journey.
The meeting will be what it is. The silly thing is, there is much positive in the examiners’ reports; certainly, a good viva will see her through with some required amendments. That happens all the time. The difficulty is that this candidate thinks the examiners are “stupid” and that she should not have to even consider their suggestions. It does not augur well for a discussion.
yiiiiiikes. good luck, and remember that you can only do so much to change another person’s behavior!
I may sound cruel but with an attitude like that maybe she doesn’t deserve to pass? I am not sure what your field is, but is this someone you and I want to have as a professional colleague? I’ve had a colleague like that and she was a nightmare. Kind of checked every box on the Narcissistic Personality Disorder list. A person who thought, e.g., that if her book or journal article was turned down it was sexism or ageism, if she didn’t get good student evaluations it was because her standards were too high, etc. etc.
I completely agree with you, but she doesn’t live in Auckland, and isn’t likely to ever be a colleague in the sense of working closely with me. I may be asked to give a reference when she applies for jobs: I will tell my truth then. Sadly, however, her manner and — what shall I call it? — comportment don’t count in the assessment of her work, unless she loses her common sense during the viva and comes out with some statements of unparalleled arrogance. At that point, the examiners will lose patience too, I imagine. I just want her to go away…
Is it Tam Dao? Surely that can calm even the unruliest of students!
No..now I wish it were.
Apple, a touch of tobacco..some shy spices, a bit of sweet wood, a tin6 hint if green for freshness. A gourmand, but not all about sugar.
By Killian Apple Brandy?
Traversee du Bosphore?
Odonata wins. I wish we were in the same country: I would send you my latest batch of chocolate chippie biscuits (cookies). The dear man says they are the best yet — very warming and encouraging for the baker, but not necessarily accurate. I’ve noticed he tends to say that about all my baking.
Thanks dear! I bet they are amazing! And the way things are going in this country, I wish I was in your country too 😉
I walked out the door and forgot perfume this morning, so I’m not going to make y’all guess. I’m wearing Valentina’s Sweet Dreams perfume oil.
I started to try and describe my scent and have you all guess, but alas, I think you know me so well you’d just say “Shalimar” and you’d be right! I’ll be more creative tomorrow, but I’ve been in a Shalimar mood for the past two days!
This is a fun game and you all smell fab!
But it’s nice when Shalimar is always the answer to the question 🙂
The house name has something related to the French Riviera and the perfume is royal 🙂
This is driving me crazy; the clues seem very specific, but my tired brain can’t think of anything related to the French Riviera.
I was writing my comment while you were posting — glad I am not the only one who is stumped!
Ok I have come to this too late and I am nearly brain dead. One more clue?
Wait, L’Occitane Roses et Reines?
Sorry to keep you waiting 🙂
It’s Peris Monte Carlo Oud Imperial.
Monte Carlo is the French Riviera clue (this was the first association in my mind) and royal=imperial.
Excellent! Would never have gotten it.
Scent of the Day is Profumum Fiore d’Ambra ! I am bewitched. It is so comforting, such a lovely amber and it fits perfectly with this breezy very cool autumn day as the leaves fall. I really find it perfect and one I could wear all throughout the winter as well. The Opium is really addictive (haha!), I can’t stop smelling my arm!
I am also testing this with MP&G Amber Precieux my first swoon. (couldn’t find that sample so I went with Profumum instead.)
I will buy a FB of one or the another, just can’t decide. I need 10mls of each for the long game. Help someone!
Started off with a broken sprayer on my chosen scent of the day, House of Matriarch L’Arrivée, so had to switch to a backup jasmine, The Different Company Jasmin de Nuit. It has been so hot and dry here everything just disappears instantly, even after slathering myself with oil beforehand, so now I’m going to switch to Amouage Beloved.
I am wearing a natural fragrance by an American perfumer. I over sprayed and was surprised at how pleasantly spicy insensey it became versus sweetish piney resinous. The line has two perfumes that share a word between them and one of them is the all natural version of the other.
SSS Pacific Forest?
Yoy are correct, nozknoz!
