Happy International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples! What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Tauer Perfumes Rose Delight, again.
Reminder: on 8/12 we're doing Fabulous but fleeting — wear a perfume you love even though it doesn't last as long as it should. Suggested by Mariann.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2016, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

SOTD: Incense Oud (By Kilian).
I am afraid to try this one.
Don’t be afraid. There is hardly any oud in it, I get much more of a lovely incensy-rose.
It’s great stuff and quite mild.
I am doing some fab but fleeting in No 19 Poudre
I happen to love this scent while it lasts…
Also ordered a sample of Assam of India to see what the fuss is about.
Tea is a spicy black tea from MF
Is the MF Chandernagor by any chance?
This is an important question.
I like that one.
ALEXANDRA DAVID-NÉEL
Glad that, that is sorted out 🙂
The opening of that one is indeed fab & fleeting…but the white musk drydown is quite tenacious on me.
On me too, too tenacious for my comfortzone.
Agreed this one of the less fleeting Chanels on me.
jealous of all of you…I applied twice and I still can’t smell anything..
You smell great!
Oh gosh! If you don’t like the Assam of India I will feel really bad as I am the one wearing it constantly-LOL!
Honestly, it is just a nice citrus cologne with good lasting power on my skin…and I am wearing it daily due to Angela’s challenge 🙂
Sampling Mancera Lemon Line today. Either this one is a bit of a shape-shifter, or my nose needed time to adjust to this scent. The first impressions were a freshly squeezed lemon juice with lemon pulp, water and a little sugar. Later I also noticed some faint floral notes, probably geranium. A couple of hours later I decided to re-apply and this time I got a lot of lavender. The lemon is still there but in the background. Anyway, this is nice, because I like both lemon and lavender.
Sounds lovely! I want to try their Aoud Vanilla.
I could probably do a week of Rose Delight, myself. You smell delish!
I’m in Auphorie Eternal Voyage, another I could wear for a week and beyond, and maybe it shares some similarities in feel and development with RD. And it’s an oil based perfume, which I’m growing to like. I’ve nearly drained my sample, but I’ll wait to see how much I miss it before pulling the trigger.
I am going to be very boring this week with fragrance! And I need to try the Auphorie line.
I am wearing CB:IHP Russian Caravan Tea. Fantastic!
I am drinking iced green Genmaicha.
That line has some amazing scents. I highly recommend In the Library.
You smell fantastic
That’s a nice one.
Ooh, I like that one!
I think I’ve been choosing stronger scents in preparation for fleeting Friday. I’m in SSS Forest Walk today and love it.
You smell great. It’s one of my early niche loves and actually one of the few truly indie scents I love.
I can totally see why. This one really is great.
I was getting some papers from the printer and an intern stopped me to ask what I was wearing because she was mesmerized by it.
Beautiful scent!
FW is one of my favorites too. You smell great!
I have only tried Pacific Forest..I assume they are similar and you smell fab!
From what I read Pacific is the all natural version of Forest. From reading the notes list it seems to be very similar but Pacific might be a touch sweeter.
You smell gorgeous Robin 😉
I smell gorgeous too IMHO, a new love, Mona di Orio’s Eau Absolue. This is the kind of fragrance that calms me down and relaxes me. Litsea (lemony Verbena like), honey, vetiver, bayleaf and labdanum).
Have any of you loves among de Mona di Orio’s?
Thank you!
I love Eau Absolu. The other two that I like from the line are Musc and Amber. I have not tried the recent releases so curious if you did and what was your impression.
Thank you Clarissa! I tried Oud (Osmanthus) and love it too, but too pricey at this point in time. I have a sample of Rose, still have to try it. Will keep you posted.
I am fascinated by most of the MdO line, but something in many of them does not play well with my skin, haven’t been able to pinpoint it yet. For me, many of her scents are like SL, conceptually and technically interesting, but not necessarily something you’d want to wear everyday.
Tuberose is great, and Eau Absolu. I am also a fan of Vanille, but the buttery rum richness makes it too much in the heat, IMO.
I recently received a sample of Bohea Boheme and find it to be a mostly smokey-woodsy scent that stays fairly close to skin.
Thank you for your input, great!
I have and love quite a few, but some are discontinued: Oiro, Jabu, Chamarré, Musc, Vanille, Cuir, Oud, Violette Fumée and Nuit Noire. Chamarré and Cuir are my top favorites but Chamarré is sadly discontinued. It is a lovely ambergris scent.
Thanks!
I love Mona d’Oro’s Eau Absolu.
Me too!
Fab but not fleeting 1000 by Patou which I like a lot better than yesterday’s Ylang.
Tea was Macaron Mangue Jasmin by Damman Frères which I’ve come to enjoy quite a bit.
Perfect for this week’s challenge- Apres L’Ondee.
Applied 60 total sprays over the past 4 hours and………..
My coffee breath projects more strongly. 😉
Beautiful, fleeting—- hhhmmm
a metaphor for life, perhaps.
Onward and upwards !!!
60 sprays? OMG! 🙂
Yep !
I count when I spray ! LOL
Really, a B&BW Fragrance Mist is stronger.
Sadly, such a beauty also disappears on me in a matter of minutes. However, I always enjoy its short existence…….
That’s about 4-5 ml. Hard-core!
Olfactory fatigue – it’s really not that weak…
Sorry, I disagree.
No olfactory fatigue.
Next !
WOW…you win for most sprays
Are your socks wet?
????
How strange! I just wore it yesterday (the modern EdT) and three sprays lasted most of the day.
Lol!!! So funny!
Indochine
You smell FABULOUS!
Up far too early, so I dipped into the sample cup and came up with Aftelier Palimpsest. This is perfect for reading in bed at 6:30 am, listening to seagulls and the city not-quite-awake.
I just got Mito by Vero Kern and I’m entranced by it. For some reason it’s reminding me of aspects of JPatou Sublime so I’m going to wear one on each wrist and check it out. Must be the lemony, honeyed goodness part moving into floral.
Mito is very pretty.
Mals, I loved your post about smelling good while the world is burning. Was that a literal burning of your home? Or poetic license, describing an awful time? Beautiful and worrisome. Hope all is well.
Loved your post too, thank you. But I couldn’t comment for some reason, so here.
That is a great scent and definitely entrancing. You smell great.
Guerlain French Kiss for me today–a happy scent to wear on the train down to Philadelphia. If anyone is around during the day Wed, Th or Friday I’d love some sniffing company. My screen name is my yahoo address
Love French Kiss! So “Guerlain”.
Wearing Oud satin mood by MFK. Syrupy rose and violet, with just a bit of oud to add a slight rasp. Very lovely, but crazily priced.
You smell wonderful!
I’m wearing TDC Bergamote, but I think its best days are gone: it has not turned, but the top notes smell stale to me. Is this possible? The bottle is a few years old and pretty empty.
I’ve got an estagnon of Divine Bergamote which is at least 7 years old and smells just as fresh as when I purchased it. Mind you it has always lived in the dark, and a metal container is a great place to keep your perfume fresh.
Yes, unlike my perfumes… It’s a lovely scent in any case, isn’t it?
I adore it. And there is much more to it then what appears at first sniff.
Don’t forget that I started collecting quite a while ago, and knew that if I wanted those bottles to last I would have to protect them. (Might be because my brother is a chemist and was Always very particular about storing oils in dark cool places.)
This is exactly why I moved the majority of my collection to the basement where there’s little light and it’s always cool.
I only keep samples/ smalls I know I’m going to use up upstairs now.
I got a split of Bergamote from the Estagnon (so not in the original bottle), and it likewise did not last (or at least, smell perfect) more than a few years.
I’m glad I got the Estagnon then; it’s in mint condition! And I only paid a little over € 100 euros for it.
I do think that’s the way to go. That said, my storage conditions might not be so perfect.
Austenfan what do you mean with a metal container? Do you keep your perfumes in a basement (I don’t have one but my bedroom is pretty cool in temps)?
The Estagnons that I got my first two TDC’s in are made of aluminium (I think) (Like so: http://europe.thedifferentcompany.com/bergamote-flacon-ressource-100ml,fr,4,ESTBE100.cfm)
This will keep out all light, at all times, thus preserving your fragrance for much longer. Citrus oils are I think very sensitive to UV.
Ah, got it! Thank you.
Is the ginger strong in this or does it add some warmth? I absolutely love the bottle of South Bay I got from Robin and it’s the only TDC I’ve tried.
It’s an accent, and adds some depth and makes it longer lasting. Personally I think it’s one of the best citrus fragrances out there.
I went with Dame Perfumes New Musk Oil today. Musc and plum and flowers positively waft, and they will still be wafting when I go to bed tonight. Such a lovely perfume.
That one smells beautiful on my husband.
Need to sample this one! Keep meaning to, thank you for the lovely reminder: )
I like that one on its own and also layered with other fragrances…then again I love everything that Jeff does ! Dame Perfumery is great!
Vetiver Fatal gets a turn today. There is a bit of a chill in the air today and this seems to need some heat to bloom for me, it seems muted and weighed down today. Maybe I’m just projecting my own mood though.
That is a good general vetiver. I tend to wear it more in cooler weather.
I like that a lot.
Good morning…..rainy mist and all! 🙂
SOTD: Chloe (new).
Smelly news, and then REALLY smelly news: I couldn’t resist. I couldn’t say no. Darn you, Sephora emails! I caved in last night and ordered a rollerball of the new Nirvana Bourbon. I’ll let y’all know if it works for me! AND…really smelly news….I was at Belk this weekend, and the EL rep poured a little sample of MM Le Rouge Gloss for me. She poured it into a tiny jar (not a sprayer), which of course leaked all over my purse. Gloss is quite nice is small doses…pretty overwhelming in bigger ones! 🙂
note to self: keep a small spare plastic baggie in purse at all times!
YES!! She actually put the jar in a small baggie, but didn’t seal the baggie! LOL!
That’s a cool post card!
Just eating my hot cereal with whole walnuts on it. Walnuts are so visually gorgeous. Is there a perfume with a walnut note?
So I finally figured out how to wear fragrance. Normally I was spraying it on my upper chest and the back of my neck. Because the scent was landing at nearly nose ground zero, my smeller just seemed to turn off and I couldn’t smell the fragrance, or only the most aggressive notes got through. Maybe ok for others, but this made it impossible for me to enjoy the perfume myself. So I started spraying either the backs of my knees and lately just the ankles. What a difference that makes, to get the full effect of all the notes as they rise together. I also find that fewer sprays are needed.
SOTD: LDDM, one spritz per ankle
That’s interesting. I never thought to try ankles. Unless I’m wearing a strong scent, usually it fades quickly from my wrists due to being on the desk all day. I tend to do the back of my neck, chest, elbows, wrists and especially a few sprays in my hair because it’s in a chin length bob right now so I get some good wafts of it that way. If I’m wearing a powerhouse fragrance I’ll just do a spritz on my wrist and one on chest.
Bare ankles? Over socks/tights? Or do you live in a warm climate where legs are always bare? Just curious!
Bare ankles. It’s summer here. I’ll have to think of another strategy for winter 🙂
Yay! for scented ankles. You smell great. How we wear fragrance is as fascinating as what we choose and when we wear it.
I sprinkle walnuts and cinnamon on my oatmeal almost every morning. I imagine a scent with a walnut note would be fabulous. How about trying some walnut oil on your wrists? Although when I think of walnut oil it’s because I want a good green salad for lunch. 😀
I agree regarding the beauty of walnuts. So good for you too!
SOTD Bulgari Au the Vert. Beautiful, but another fleeting one on me. It does not last more than 1 hour.
Spray loads and it will last longer!
After 40 sprays I already quit my thoughts of reapplying it. My FB is almost over and I don’t really know if I should get another one. I really like it……
I just got the 150 ml bottle a couple of years ago. Mind you it lasts a lot longer than one hour on my skin but with very limited sillage.
Beige because I’m having lunch with a perfume phobic friend. It’s her birthday so I decided I shouldn’t got too wild.
Haven’t gotten around to applying my SOTD yet. But I did pick it out, I picked Andy Tauer’s Orange Star. I am seeing a full bottle in my future. The good news from my dentist is that the root canaled tooth that did break, it can be saved. They filed down the jagged edge and told me to brush that tooth really good so I can get the crown put on it. I did find out the cost of implants at the dental school. Instead of paying $1,500 or $2,000 per tooth, I pay $700 per tooth.
Argh. Glad it was not worse.
I just wanted something for the hot, hot weather, so I’m wearing Un Jardin Sur le Nil. I love Hermes. Wish I could afford the Hermessences.
I’m reading Chandler Burr’s The Perfect Scent which describes the process of making Un Jardin Sur le Nil ( and Sarah J Parker’s Lovely ). It’s worth reading if you’re interested in that type of thing…very easy, magazine-style writing so a good commute book.
I love this week’s vintage postcards!
Got some Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar body wash over the weekend for something like $3 at TJ Maxx, and it’s had me craving coconut constantly. Drinking coconut milk in my coffee, and wearing my Indian Coconut Nectar rollerball to match… it’s been ignored for at least two years, but still smells good.
This is coconut weather! I’ve been matching up my lime and coconut WEN in the shower with Dame’s Lime, Gardenia and Benzoin (which is almost no benzoin, fortunately for me, but lovely lime up top and then lovely gardenia.) It works!
O Donatella, I have sinned! I saw this morning twice-sprayed Frapin 1697 on ebay for $65, and snatched it immediately. Despite complete lack of perfume money, and despite the fact that I fell in love with absolu, and this is eau de parfum, which I never tried….on the other side, EdP reportedly smells pretty much the same, and a new bottle of EdP 1697 goes for $195, so the price seemed so unreal, that, in my haste, I even ignored the option “make an offer”, which I never do. The seller has 100% positive feedback, too.
SOTD is Miller Harris Fugue Amere, to continue yesterday’s fig theme.
On the unrelated note, I am reading a book by contemporary russian author who has incredible imagination and whose descriptions are incredible, but whose points of view clash with my own severely. He writes of russian military patriotism which he proclaims at the expense of obnoxious views about homosexuals, jewish people, other countries. I read another book by him, which was not politicized at all, and it was amazing…that is why I started on this book, and it is also amazing in its non-politicized parts..but when he starts going – oh boy! I even started having bad dreams in which I argue with someone obnoxious and indecent, and end up beating him into a bloody pulp, which is quite in agreement with the methods this book proposes, only applied to the other side. I;ve never encountered before such a combination of literary genius and bygotry. What do you do in this case? Stop reading, or just note your disagreements to yourself and carry on?
Nice!! I just got a bottle of 1697 for $45 on MIN and it is amazing
Where, where? What is MIN? Some site to spend money that I am not aware of :)?
I think I grabbed the last bottle, they have another one by Frapin on sale 🙂 it’s MIN NY – and sometimes you can get awesome deals here.
I lost your contact info, wanted to drop you a note for swaps. I am marianna_r in the yahooooland
Book: an interesting dilemma; I would be inclined to soldier on if only in the spirit of “know your enemy” (by which I mean Bigotry, not Russians!). But also by nature I hate not finishing books or destroying books, even badly-written schlocky books. :^)
Perfume: I have a set of Frapin samples at home, really looking forward to trying them but think cooler weather may suit them better?
It is quite likely for some (1270 and 1697), but I am in air-conditioned spaces year around, so I tend not to make a distinction 🙂 I only tried L’Humaniste, Terre de Sarment, Paradise Perdu and Orchid Man. Paradis Perdu is a nice vetiver (to my nose), I actually think it might be better in hot weather. L’Humaniste and Orchid Man as well. Terre de Sarment smelt like overwhelming orange blossom to me, did not get any of those other notes that are described so deliciously. I need to try it again
She forgives you
You know, my usual motive for finishing a book I don’t like is that I want to be able to fully explain why I hate it, should I be asked. But it sounds to me like you’ve got a good enough answer to that question already, and the book is just making you unhappy.
Congrats on the find, though!
It sounds like you’ve gotten the gist of the book at this point. Is finishing it going to actually add anything new to your understanding of it? If not (which it sounds like is the case), don’t hesitate to just put it down. Like Koenigsberg, I generally hate not finishing books, but experience has taught me it’s OK to say “no”. I once soldiered my way through a novel that was a pile of tedious, misogynist crap (because I hate not finishing books!), but I really regret it–because that’s a couple hours of my life that I can’t get back!!! There’s definitely something to be said for reading things that will ‘challenge’ you or ‘stretch’ you in some way, but bigotry and hate are something else. Look at it this way: It’s your life, with a finite amount of time; you decide what material is worth spending that precious resource on! ????
No5 EDC layered with A la Nuit.
Sounds interesting and lovely!
Perfume heart to brain this morning: “Mitsouko!” Brain to perfume heart: “Are you sure? It might be too much in the heat.” Perfume heart to brain: “Yesyesyes! Mitsy! Now!” So even though it’s supposed to be 85 degrees today, I’m letting my perfume heart get what it wants.
Let us know how Mitsy does in the heat. I have heard her siren call a few times this summer, but my brain has been shouting her down. Stupid brain.
So far, so good, although I have managed to keep out of the heat for the most part.
Mitsouko, to me, is not exactly built for hot weather if you are spraying. I love the vintage Mitsy when it’s dabbed. This is coming from somebody who wears Mitsy in cold weather.
So far she’s behaving herself, despite the spray application.
Mitsy! Now! ????
I wore Mitsy (EDP) yesterday, and it was fine. I usually only wear a spritz or so, on my chest, and make sure a bit hits my shirt. It projects and lasts without being overpowering.
She will not be denied. 🙂
SOTD was Linari “Vista sul Mare”, a ‘view of the sea’, and maybe if I crane my neck and look out to sea I’ll find where the smell went coz it sure didn’t stick around here. (I’m not too worried, it was terrifically generic while it lasted).
Now in Jesus del Pozo “Arabian Nights for Men”, which is a pleasant rose-oud confection like many others out there. I had intended to get this back in December and accidentally picked up “Noble Nights Musk” instead. I think I got the better deal, but if I had my time again I would not buy either as a full bottle, as my tastes have evolved.
Last night, when MCG Syconium had given up the ghost, I tried Montale “Greylands” (a pleasant freshly-sawn woodsy smell), and later still while walking down Calle Granada I got caught in the gravitational pull of SAC Parfums (great shop) and emerged slightly dazed carrying a FB of Parfums de Marly “Hamdani”. You know, the thuggish incense and leather monster that I both loved and hated? Well I better love it now, that’s all I’m saying…
????
Estee Lauder Private Collection is my SOTD . I just got back from vacation and I’m getting reacquainted with my perfume loves. I wish I could pack all of my perfumes and bring them with me. You never know what one you’ll wake up craving ☺.
Nice! But that one is far from fleeting 🙂
So true! 🙂
SOTD – 1692 Blood Honey. Initially the name somewhat threw me off, but it’s blood orange, so all good here. First 10 mins – pretty plasticky, but then it settles into a great honey. Has great longevity – wore it to bed last night and could still smell it in the morning – which is rare. It is oil form but I find it does not bother me anymore.
Oh, that sounds nice. Decent honey fragrances are hard to find.
Luca Turin praised it in his blog a couple of weeks ago, FWIW. :^)
I’m loving the postcards! Pretty sure you could do that for the rest of the year and I wouldn’t get tired of it.
SOTD is simple and uncomplicated because I’m a wee bit cranky and can’t deal with a complex perfume today, so Philosophy Freah Cream it is.
Happy Tuesday to all. ????
I just tried Fresh Cream the other day, it smells absolutely great! I need a bottle myself!
Yes you do 🙂
I love Fresh Cream. It is so delicious!
I think this is the third year in a row I did the postcards for my summer vacation. They are fun, and the BPL has such a fantastic collection.
I’m getting tons of “back to school, end of summer” offers in the mail and I realized that I have a number of summer-weight perfumes I haven’t worn yet this year. I think it’s another sign I have too many. Today I’m wearing Unforsaken and polished off the little decant that prompted a FB purchase last winter.
Heh, I know that feeling. It’s a good thing summer lasts til October here in NorCal.
That’s so interesting bc I look at my collection and feel the exact opposite! I need cooler temps for the majority of my scents. I’m looking forward to fall bc most of my loves are too much in the heat????
Working from home today, so will dive into the samples soon. Though I intend to end the day in Guerlain AA Limon Verde, fleeting but fun.
Announcement!! Koyel and I will be sniffing at Tigerlily in SF next Friday, Aug 19, around 12:30pm. If you’re in the area, do join us!
That sounds fun, wish I could be there!
First time wearing Dior Grand Bal. It started out very promising – I thought it might be my Holy Grail jasmine. However it’s turning a bit soapy. Soapy is not bad, but I’m losing the jasmine. In any case, it’s pretty and work-friendly.
That’s my childhood beach town! It looks much better in the post card. Wearing Sel Marin today in its honor, even though I am far from the beach just now.
🙂
Annick Goutal Vetiver Cologne this morning and I’ve just switched to Santal Massoia for a scent of the late afternoon. Both relatively fleeting but they stick around long enough to enjoy.
I love that Vetiver cologne in the heat. So refreshing and I find the vetiver like an olfactory air-conditioner.
I wonder if AG is available anywhere in my state. I have a friend looking for a vetiver scent, and I bet he’d like to try that one.
Wearing 6ish sprays of 1932 today…
Fabulous but fleeting for Chanel Weak 😉 with props to Hajusuuri!
I tried 1932 for the first time yesterday and it knocked the pants off of Boy!
1932 doesn’t last on me, but it is *such* fun that I don’t care.
I found this one fleeting as well-but to the people around me they could still smell it.
🙂
1932 lasted longer on me than Chanel Boy. I don’t dare to wear more tban 4 sprays (from a manufacturer’s sMple) because the initial blast is strong until it whimpers out 2 hours later.
SOTD is MF A La Rose. I out it on a few hours ago and couldn’t remember what it was because it is practically gone. Now..what next….!
SOTD: Atelier Cologne Sud Magnolia. Yesterday I wore Andrée Putman L’Original and the SSS Rose Volupté when that one wore off.
I need to get out of the house soon, or I’m just going to go back to bed.
Scent of the morning is the fleeting La Chasse aux Papillons. It’s perfect as I ponder whether I will refresh or move to another scent in an hour.
Wearing my absolute last drops of Soivohle Domino Viole. Once they’re gone, that’s all she wrote– but that’s OK. I’m actually trying to use up any down-to-the-dregs sample before the angels take their share.
Been ignoring my lily perfumes this summer so I remedied the situation by copiously spraying Tom Ford Lys Fume over ylang-ylang complete essential oil scented body lotion! Summer funk, take that!
Thanks to Tropical Storm Javier, it’s dark, cool, and stormy here. No scorching sun to take into account, then, so I went with Bvlgari Black today. Love it!
One of my favorites! I have a back-up for the back-up bottle.
I considered that when I spritzed it on today. I don’t have a back-up yet, and I thought, “Should I get two more of these?”
Assam of India is my SOTD….not testing anything on my right wrist …..
Had to get out the DelRae Emotionelle for the hot humid day we’re having. Somehow it just seemed right.
Oh, I love that one, you smell absolutely gorgeous.
I met Gaynor on Monday and she introduced me to Miss Dior and Dioressence and now I can’t get them out of my head. I have been reading about reformulations etc. but they both seemed wonderful to me and I loved the colour of the Dioressence juice ( top ten juice colour). So, thanks Gaynor!
Off to the big smoke today…Auckland! And will meet Waterdragon later in the week. I hope to try Frapin Korrigan and some Arquiste perfumes while there but they will have to be waterproof as the weather doesn’t look too good. Meanwhile , sub zero temperatures down here and hoping the airport is actually open. I am a nervous flyer … But find listening to audio books helps distract me from monitoring the shifts in engine noise etc. i have been known to cry during one spectacularly awful landing at Wellington…death would have been my preferred option as we went in for a third attempt.
Lucky you, meeting up with NSTers! Hope your trip is calm and uneventful.
Thank you! Every thing is delayed because of ice…I always think that a rocky start to a holiday is a good omen.
I’m not a nervous flyer, but I think I might’ve cried too, if a landing came to a third attempt! I have been known to grip the hell out of the armrests on a squirrelly landing. Have a good trip!
Oh no! I had this happen in flying into Atlanta Georgia once. Huge thunder and lightening storm, bolts blazing around the plan, and sheering winds that lifted the plane up the first two times it tried to land. Grown business men were yelping loudly, which I sort of enjoyed, except for the part about how I thought it might be the last thing I heard. The third time was the charm, though, and we all survived to tell about it.
Morning, morning…today is busy and I am determined not to be-frazzle myself, so I am in 31 Rue Cambon and a happy smile. Oh, and a new, very intense, no VERY intense, red lipstick that was nodding and winking at me as I passed by. What’s a Waterdragon to do, when a lippy is just begging to be given a kind home? It’s a lot of fun. Sontoomis my poor darling Dakkie-Dog-Hoople-the Cat. He’s lost all but one of his mice under the fridge, and he’s lying patiently on his tummy, waiting for them to emerge so he can pounce and Get Them. It’s too adorable, though it does speak of a certain lack of smarts.
I love the Dakkie-lying-in-wait image that’s in my mind.
I’ve bought a couple of giant fur mice for my cat that can’t get caught under the radiators, fridge, etc. The look of heartbreak on her face when she realizes the toy is out of her reach is too much to bear.
Very good idea!
“lack of smarts” 🙂
You smell(ed) fabulous. Well, that’s what red lipsticks are supposed to do, right? Nod and wink at you till you buy them? ????
My SOTD is Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle.
Love that one!
Nuit de Tubereuse for a glorious sunny summer day.
Enjoying La Panthere today. Very happy with its longevity.
Yes, that one sticks around! I really enjoy it. My sample has gone missing, but I want a full bottle anyway, so . . .
If you’d like a decant, I’d be happy to make one for you. I just opened my bottle. If you do email me:
laugsb at sbcglobal dot net
Helmut Lang EDP for me today.. love the lavender/patchouli/vanilla combo of this one. Simple yet comforting scent.
I have to try this!
Very late to the party today, but my SOTD is the very not fleeting Carnal Flower.
I have been using my Carnal Flower shower gel – so luxurious and fragrant!
SOTD = Chanel No. 19 EDP
May be a staple for the next few days. I am preparing a presentation for Thursday and I need some additional smarts to waft my way!
I’m sure you don’t need any additional smarts, but I’m glad you’ve got No. 19 in your corner. 🙂
I’m sure you don’t need them, but I’ll lend you my smarts on Thursday for a reserve supply. Crush it!
I doubt that anyone will read this since I am so late. I really enjoyed reading today’s comments. My SOTD was Eau de Rochas since it was hot and I’m almost done with the bottle. Bedtime scent will be Ligea la Sirena which usually helps me to drift into sleep. There is lavender in the opening which seems to do the trick.
Read ! 🙂
I read it! (Hey, I live out West, so it’s not late here. And I’m watching the Olympics…) Is your Eau de Rochas bottle one of those giant 14.9oz ones? ????
(Waves hi!)
Me too, and Eau de Rochas is one of the best colognes!
I wore Mitsouko on Tuesday. It is still the middle of the night here, not sure what I will wear today. Rough time at work. Ugh. I really need a new job!
Not sure if you’ll see my response but I really hope that your work situation improves or can to move on to a better job soon. It’s tough to spend long hours in a tense atmosphere.
