It's Hump Day! (And RIP, George Martin.*) What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm wearing Dior Eau Sauvage. It's a perfect fit for our perfect weather today (77!) and it also debuted the same year as Revolver. Tea at the moment: Mariage Frères Thé Vert au Tibet.
Reminder: 3/11 will be Forgotten Friday...dig around in the back of the cabinet, find something, be it a bottle or decant or sample, that you'd forgotten you owned or forgotten to wear. (suggested by ajda)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2016, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Today is a good day for Eau Savvage, but I went with Cristalle. Compared to what I wore yesterday, this is a fragrance I can never spray one (or ten) too many times.
Either works — we are second cousins, or something!
Yes, now let’s enjoy this great weather while it lasts!
I was going to wear Eau Sauvage, but it was such a grim ice-pellety kind of day that I decided on Demeter Russian Leather instead. Very single-minded and not much lasting power but I really like it.
Sorry to hear you’re still in winter there. Icy weather is more annoying than snow.
The lovely Oakland Fresca gave me a bit of Cristalle which I’m excited to try in warm weather. Probably would suit this weather today actually, but my long lost Neroli Jasmin is taking precedence for now.
I bought my 1st Body Shop product(s) this week…..GOOD STUFF! Have on a bit of Red Musk today, and it’s great stuff!
Can’t remember if I’ve smelled that one or not, but they have some lovely things.
It’s lovely, but doesn’t last more than a few hours.
I received my ELdO sampler from Sephora, so I’ll probably pick something in there for my SOTD. Which one should I try first?
Not Putain des Palaces! I love it but it lasts all day. You won’t be able to smell the others until tomorrow 🙂
How about Jasmine and Cigarettes? I may wear that today myself.
Ooh I haven’t tried my sample of that one- loved Putain des palaces, may try it later on.
Jasmine and Cigarettes is lovely. I gave my niece a sample, and she ended up with a bottle for Christmas from her ‘fume head mom. Hope you enjoy the samples!
Jasmin Et Cigarette seems to be popular
I second that pick! It’s my scent o’ the day 🙂
I went with Jasmin et Cigarette on one wrist, and Cologne on the other.
I really love Cologne so far (just put it)!
J&C seems quite subdued already. I think I’m going to add a touch more.
I think JeC has been reforms later from when I first tried it over a year ago. It seems much weaker now. I spray very heavily with my new full bottle and it still disappears fairly quickly.
Fat Electrician is my favorite in that sampler! I even added it to my Scentbird queue! 🙂
Ooh I’m so glad you mentioned Scentbird! I’m thinking of trying it, and was trying to remember who here had referred me to it in the first place, because I see they do a thing where if I sign up with someone’s referral link, they and I both get a free month. https://www.scentbird.com/invite Seems much better for all involved than just signing up directly–do you want to send me your link to use? I’m catherineh789 on ye olde geemayle. Thanks, and thanks for the head’s up about it in the first place!
Oooh….Happy to refer you! Thanks so much! I’ll send a link right now!
oops! It may have sent to you twice….I think you’ll love Scentbird (I do!)….My first Hermes fragrance is coming in my March shipment….Eau de Pamplemousse Rose! 🙂
Thank you so much!! It hasn’t come through just yet but maybe it takes a little while for the system to process, I’ll ping you again if I don’t see it later. Enjoy your Hermes meanwhile–that’s def among the ones that piqued my interest!
Oh there it is! Thank you!!
Try Secretions Magnifiques and get it over with, LOL…
It even sounds unappealing… shudder…
I suggest anyone sampling it to try it outside on a blotter with rubber gloves on. I got a drop on my finger and it lasted for a day and a half. A day and a half of an unclean fish counter during high summer on the tip of my finger. It made even water smell food poisoningly off.
(Un)fortunately it’s not in the sampler!
Saved!
What a beautiful spring day…
Such a delight to sleep with the windows open last night
In the spirit of Forgotten Friday-I dug out some old samples that I don’t wear.
Pre-Shower myrrhe et delires
Post -Shower Cruel Gardenia
Tea-Paris breakfast and this morning I am making a fruit smoothie.
Have a good smelling Wednesday
Our company gave us a special day on Friday – massages and fruit smoothies! I had a mango/banana blend, so delicious!
That is a great company!
The last time I worked for anyone who gave massages was when I lived in San Francisco.
I am doing a strawberry/blueberry/raspberry with spinach and coconut milk.
love coconut milk.. spinach, not so much 😉
I find spinach doesn’t impact flavor much, so I have used it as a base a number of times. Love using mango.
That sounds good- I made mango, banana, kale & Swiss chard with almond milk yesterday and monday, really nice, but the kale makes it quite bitty.
I tend to do more fruit then veggies for that reason 🙂
I think that’s a good idea, will put less in next time.
I like to use coconut water in my smoothies. For some reason, coconut milk makes me break out. Which at my age, is ridiculous. I haven’t made one in a while. I have to get back to my summer routine.
Ah. You may be solving a mystery. Yesterday I was at a meeting at my son’s school, and two of his teachers–both very pregnant–had huge bottles of green sludge that they were drinking. My husband inquired, “kale?” and one of them nodded. So virtuous. I ate Marie Callender chicken pot pies and Burger King burgers when I was pregnant (neither of which I can stand under normal circumstances)! I probably cost my kids brain cells with the junk I ate. Makes me shudder now.
I ate vanilla ice cream, and not much else. I have never liked vanilla ice cream before or since…
LOL! With my 2 girls, I was so good….fruit, salad, healthy food.
With my 3rd, (son), I craved Pizza Hut, steak, Snickers and junk! Poor kid!
I make the smoothies because one of the draw backs of breastfeeding is dehydration unfortunately.
Wooooow – fantastic! Must make sitting next to the oversprayer that much easier…
yes it does… 🙂
Inspired yesterday by Elisa P to dust off my Dune decant and so glad I did.. love this one.
Weather is Spring-like! Just perfect.
Glad to inspire! I almost wore it again today. You smell like spring.
Jour Ensoleille. Working through some SSS samples that were too much for me when I first started sniffing. I get it now ????
Nice!
A nice one. I call it my Forest Fairy Queen scent (apologies to those who have already heard that).
That is a wonderful description. I am going to check tonight to see if I have a sample of this one.
I keep thinking of going for a full bottle of Jour Ensoleille… It really does smell like Sonoma to me. I think it is lovely.
I tried an old sample of Champagne de Bois yesterday and quite liked it. More woodsy, though.
You smell great! I wore Jour Ensoleillé yesterday; I’m also working my way through some SSS samples.
Work has been oppressively busy so I haven’t been posting but I have been enjoying my splits with Clarissa and pixel. In the spirit of forgotten treasures, I pulled out Balenciaga Flirabotanika. It’s a mini, and I just poured it on. I do really like this one; it’s very quiet and would make a lovely guest soap! Today I am 47 and just aghast wondering how that could possibly be!
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday! 47 is the new 27 (though I wouldn’t want to go back to my twenties) March is a great month to be born in!
I wouldn’t either (shudders at the thought of being twenty-anything) but I’d take 37!
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday!
It goes faster and faster as I get older!
Happiest of birthdays to you!
Happy birthday – and hope things get a little slower at work!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Katrina!! I turn 46 on Sat, and I agree……there’s just no way! I’m just 22??? 🙂
Hope your day is epicly awesome!!
Happy birthday!!
Happy Birthday! I’m right behind you.
Happy Birthday! And trust me, it gets even more shocking later on 😉
Happy Birthday!
Happy happy birthday!
I’m a year older than you, and time just flies by! Happy birthday!
You look and are fantastic – happy birthday!!
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday, you young thing….
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday! I’m amazed by your avatar – you look so much younger! What’s your secret? Whatever it is, keep it up and you smell lovely. Although Florabotanica has the same spirit as Flowerbomb, but its opening has a lot more personality. Enjoy!
Happy birthday and I hear you on getting older. Aghast is just the right word.
Bah! Shout it from the rooftops. You rock!
Many happy returns!
Happy Birthday! Many more! If you imbibe, have Champagne! And if you don’t, have a great tea!
And it is shocking how time FLIES!
Happy Birthday!
Hope you’re having a wonderful birthday!
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday! you look amazing! I also like Florabotanica, I wear it mostly in the summer.
Happy Birthday!
Hurrah for another March baby!
Happy birthday! How did we get to be this old? I am still 35 in my head.
Lancome, Mille et Une Roses, and Betjeman and Barton’s Thé le Tien.
You smell beautiful.
I am sitting on my hands to try to keep myself from buying a bottle of that pretty blue juice.
Thanks, it is a lovely scent, and one I don’t wear very often. Divine Spirituelle is in a similar vein.
I was feeling Polo original today and what a perfect choice for my unsettled mood this week. Oakmoss for days which is the scent equivalent of a vase of tulips to my mind so I actually am feeling slightly better. Funny, 30 plus years later people are now complimenting me on this scent as often if not moreso than any of my other scents. But, to be fair, my other scents are such complicated and dark niche scents compliments are the last thing I am looking for when wearing my beloved special fragrances.
Maybe the compliments are due to people recognizing that fragrance? It is a great one and I don’t think it’d ever go out of style. I’ve always liked that one – even when every man and his dog were wearing it. 😉 You smell great.
Brings back awkward and good memories!
Oakmoss for days = the best.
Lindeberg, I saw that you posted on the meetup poll saying that you were in New York, and I just wanted to make sure you saw Hajusuuri’s post and contact information from that same poll. The New York crowd is a friendly one (though I’m guessing that applies to everyone here.) Several of us are going to Sniffapalooza in April and we always love meeting other NSTers, so if you’re up for it, you should come!
More kick butt coffee and Tauer rose de Kandahar.
Big presentation this morning with a tough crowd and I need my soft front/ hard back fragrance to carry me through.
Why couldn’t Barneys carry Tauer? That would work out splendidly for love yourself event.
I am sitting on my hands. Barney’s does carry some good perfume lines though.
Sitting on my hands too, want to save for the upcoming Aedes release!
I had hopes that Barneys may have this early, but no.
I was hoping they would have TDC le 15 since they carry the line, but no.
Sigh.
Bill Blass Nude since it feels light and springy
SOTD Aimez Moi, one of my top ‘cheerful rainy- day scents’, along with Lipstick Rose & Silver Iris.
Robin, Revolver is my favourite Beatles album, it was so innovative ar the time, technically, and the art work is fantastic as well.
Musical perfection!- Didn’t make the connection with Eau Sauvage,
1966 was such an amazingly creative year, for many art forms!
I love Aimez Moi. I’m hoping to swap for some during the upcoming Swapmeet 😉
Nice to see another fan, for those who love violet & anice, it really is wonderful.
Aimez-Moi is so pretty.
You smell great! Beautiful fragrance.
Ooh! I have an Aimez Moi mini that needs dusting off. Maybe Friday. You smell beautiful!
It is weird to connect the Beatles and Edmond Roudnitska — most of the pictures of ER show him as a much older man, so I think of him that way in perpetuity so to speak. I guess in 66 he would have been just about 51?
SuzyQ and I may be competing for Aimez Moi! You smell terrific!
In the midst of my no-buy, I managed to order on Ebay (whoops) a bottle of the Body Shop’s discontinued Neroli Jasmin oil, which I wore nonstop during the summer of 2008. My life was in complete upheaval at the time and I found quite a bit of comfort in this scent, as well as in repeatedly reading Perfumes: The Guide. I moved to New York from a tiny town in Michigan in August of that year and was thrilled to be able to explore this perfume mecca (Aedes! Barneys! Bergdorfs!) but had no money whatsoever, and so this scent remained my standby for some time afterward.
I have no idea what happened to my beloved little bottle, but I am so glad to have this scent back in my life now. Warm and wonderful. Happy sigh.
Yay! I’m glad you are reunited with your Neroli Jasmin.
Thank you! We expect to be very happy together.
So nice to have an old love back.
So, so nice.
Yay! Glad you found it
*hugs bottle*
Glad that the scent still makes you happy despite going through a tumultuous time before. That’s a testament to the strength of a great scent.
It is. I think it’s also because I associate it with self-discovery and finding strength at a time when I felt like I’d been kicked in the teeth. I moved to New York and I felt like I’d been reborn, and this was my starting over again scent.
Wonderful memories! Do you miss small town Michigan?
I hate to say it, and don’t mean to insult the place, but…not really. I grew up there, and that was fine, and then went away to college in Baltimore, but came back afterwards for a relationship with a musician (aaah, the choices we make at 21) It was a miserable couple of years, for a variety of reasons, and then I was dumped. So now my associations with the place are not particularly pleasant. But I’m learning to forgive and trying return to my conception of it as my childhood home.
Now, in my early thirties, I can say that I know myself to be a city person, and even if it won’t always be New York, I am at my happiest having at least a bit of an urban lifestyle (food, cultural events, etc.). We’ll see if that changes with time. You never know what will happen. I never thought I’d live here. But I’m happy.
Where are you from originally, Deva?
I’m from what used to be a small cow town in Illinois, but is now part of the “Greater Chicagoland” area. It sounds like you are right where you need to be ????
What a find! Glad you have it back.
My bottle and I thank you. 🙂
Hooray for reuniting with a scent you love! I have a bit of my EDT bottle remaining, you’ve inspired me to wear it on Friday. ????
Yay! I bet that smells lovely too.
Reunited and it feels so good… congrats on the find!
I need some suggestions from y’all! I am groovin’ on tobacco notes today…..Name your favorite scent with tobacco, and I’ll seek it out to try. Not smoke, as much as cigar leaves, pipe tobacco and the like….
SOTD: Puro Intense, layered with Body Shop Red Musk (to amp up the tobacco). Soooooo good!
Hi JadainGA, my favourite scent with tobacco happens to be my SOTD (and SOY), Amouage’s Journey.
Making a sample list now….LOL THANKS! 🙂
My favourites are volutes edit, Diptyque, but this is being discontinued (sob), so u would need to be quick!
I also love Serge Luten’s Chergui, gorgeous stuff!, and Tom Ford’s Tobacco vanilla is great, but really expensive, my decant lasted ages tho, as u really only need a tiny spritz, it’s really powerful, oh, and Spice Bomb, victor & Rolph is lovely too, & L’occitanes Eax des Beaux.
If you’re interested in a sheer tobacco try Diptyque Volutes.
Sonoma Scent Studio Tabac Aurea is a stunner. Also, you have the sampler already, but do you gut much tobacco from Jasmin et Cigarette?
I do get a nice tobacco from Jasmin et Cigarette! I need to try it again….
Oooooh….such a nice list from you guys! Y’all rock! 🙂
I second Tabac Aurea!!
Favorite, hands down: SSS Tabac Aurea. TF Tobacco Vanille is nice, so is L’A Havana Vanille, and I liked L’Occitane Eau des Baux. Fifi Chachnil is fun and makes me think of a saloon showgirl rolling around with a cowboy who kept his boots on.
I didn’t think the tobacco note worked well in Amouage Sunshine; it seemed to flatten the florals and make them muddy.
(That said, I’ll mention that tobacco is a note I neither avoid nor seek out, so you can safely ignore my recs! But if I run across PdN Cuir Cuba, I might like to try it.)
Also, I may be the only person on the planet who does not like Chergui. It smells like (okay, I know I’m going to catch some deserved scorn for this, but this is my mental reference) the musty way that old people’s houses used to smell to me when I was a child and my grandmother was dragging me around to visit all her friends.
Love Chergui and Field Notes from Paris–both are FB worthy in my fragrance house!
I’m not a huge fan either, to me its just so sweet and feels really one dimensional. But we’re definitely in the minority!
My hubby LOVES Eau de Baux….We have a bottle in the bathroom right now….(Will try tonight!)
My favorite is Naomi Goodsir Or du Serail – pipe tobacco amidst tropical fruit and honey. There’s also Ineke Field Notes from Paris – orange blossom, tobacco, and a bit of a chewed bubble gum note at the top. You’ve been warned! 😉
I need to pull out my sample of the Ineke again. I struggled with it, but I remember liking the dry down. Or du Serail is lovely.
I don’t get the bubble gum note, but there is a bit of sweetness, which is very nice with the tobacco. This also has good staying power (on me at least) and is a real value for the money.
Love Or du Sérail! PHI Rose de Kandahar also has a nice tobacco note.
I’m not a huge tobacco fan but I do love Tauer’s PHI Une Rose de Kandahar. I also second SSS Tobac Aurea. Laurie’s prices are fantastic for niche and you can buy a travel spray without committing to a larger bottle.
Great ones includes Volutes and Caron Tabac Blond.
Arabian Oud Kalemat is a great tobacco with a bit of berry up front. It’s wonderfully sheer but very long lasting. It’s one of the few that I can wear in the heat and humidity and not feel overwhelmed. It’s a great price point and the bottle is stunning (not that we care about that, right?????)!
Arquiste Nanban, hands down, is one hell of a tobacco fragrance. I like it.
April Aromatics Erdenstern is also a lovely tobacco scent with a slight boozy opening.
I get loads of lovely tobacco from Hermes Ambre Narguilé
I second SSS Tabac Aurea, and also highly recommend Santa Maria Novella’s Tabacco Toscano, which I find to be less sweet and more wearable than TF Tobacco Vanille.
I love SMN Tabacco Toscano also. I agree, less sweet than Tom Ford.
Volutes is lovely, I have an extra bottle tucked away. Right now Phi de Kandahar is top of the list for tobacco.
Another vote for Volutes EdT
Czech & Speake “Cuba” is a rich cigar tobacco. Might be a bit masculine but surely worth a sample!
I second Hermès “Amber Narguilé” for tobacco, and I kind-of second Arquiste “Nanban” as it has tobacco as well as everything else bar the kitchen sink (but in a good way) :^)
Well, I mentioned the other day that I had an important doctor’s appointment…And now I’m headed to the hospital for outpatient surgery. It’s been a bad few days. SOTD is Jo Malone Mimosa and Cardamom. Mr. Lucy bought it for me last Christmas even though he thinks I already own way too much perfume. (He’s not wrong.) Wearing it reminds me of how much I’m loved, even if not always understood. I can’t eat, drink, wear jewelry, nor makeup, but I don’t think there’s anything they could do to stop me from wearing perfume today.
All the best Lucy! Mimosa and Cardamon hopefully help.
Good Luck Lucy!
Hope all goes well and it’s the last scary medical visit for you.
Hope you’re ok and that your recovery goes smoothly. Take good care.
We will be thinking of you!
Hope everything goes well.
Best of luck and healing thoughts sending your way
Hope today goes well, and you’re back home recovering in a flash! I have a sample of that Jo Malone, and it’s gorgeous! Let Mr. Lucy take 100% care of you later today! 🙂
Mimosa & Cardomom is such an uplifting scent, and even better that it has a personal message for u.
All the best over the coming weeks, it sounds as tho u are showing great courage. I hope that you’re lovely perfume helps u feel a bit better.
I’m so sorry that this happened to you. Best wishes for a fast and painless recovery.
I am so sorry. I hope all goes well and Mimosa and Cardamon helps.
Hope you’re home and recuperating soon!
Hoping for a full and speedy recovery!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Lucy.
Good luck!
So sweet of him, and I hope it provides a nice comfort. Hope all goes well and you have a speedy and full recovery.
Good luck!
Sending healing thoughts your way. Best wishes for better health.
It’s wonderful that he gifts you with what makes you happy. I have a bottle of Coco from my brother that feels extra special because it reminds me of his kindness. Enjoy good smells and best wishes on your recovery!
Sending you warm thoughts today!
I hope that after the surgery is the beginning of some good days! We’re thinking of ya.
Good luck and wishes for a speedy recovery.
All the best, hope everything goes well.
So sorry. Best wishes and a speedy recovery. JM Mimosa and Cardamom is such a lovely and comforting fragrance.
Hope you get well soon! Mimosa & Cardamom is lovely And hopefully comforting.
Sending you good thoughts and prayers.
I’m overwhelmed by your kind messages. Thank you all so much! I am in my recovery room, eating plenty of Teddy Grahams and apple juice. (And maybe have done a little perfume shopping from my phone.). Obviously, I am physically going to be just fine. Mentally and emotionally,…I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks you guys! You are the best!
Bummer! Wishing you best possible outcome, Lucy. 🙂
Sending positive energies your way, Lucy, that all goes smoothly and well for you.
Hang in there, we’re all pulling for you!!
Sending wishes for your fast recovery and happy days filled with fragrance. 🙂 Take good care.
I’m doing our Friday project with a sample I got years ago, Miss Marisa from Ebba. Very minty.
Oh, I remember that one!
Does anyone know of a good online venue for selling perfume? Evil bay takes too much of a cut so I will not be using them.
Some of the Facebook perfume groups allow you to post sales: Facebook Fragrance Friends has sales/swap files and I think it’s called Indie/Niche something-or-other allows you to post sales on the feed. Might be worth a try…
Ditto on the FB Fragrance Friends. I’ve purchased from there and also from Niche Perfume Split Page.
In my experience, Basenotes has been a good place to sell, particularly if you’re hoping to sell niche.
Thank you! I will check those out.
Good morning! We got some lovely rain last night. Not enough but better than I expected, and one heck of a lightning show that kept me awake. I’m facing the world this morning with a sample of Sultan Pasha’s Nankun Kodō. Wow, is this ever a lovely incense. Not a hint of synthetic soapiness here, just rich thick incense smoke that reminds me of both good Japanese incense and of copal smoke. I may have to actually buy a bottle so I can smear with abandon since it does wear close to the skin.
Oh yay! I’m glad you’re exploring your set! Is this the first one you’ve tried (apart from the 49 &50 leak)? I must admit that I haven’t sampled a single one yet.
I am curious where you ordered these?
His Ebay store is Scents-Rarity. He doesn’t have any samplers available now and isn’t doing the set of 50 anymore but I think he will be offering smaller sets again soon.
Thank you! I don’t think that I could handle 50 anyway!
I’ve been approaching them with caution but so far haven’t found anything horribly overwhelming. They seem to be quite long lasting but not too much louder than other concentrated oils. The sillage is different though, I think it’s quiet and suddenly realize that something smells great, like the scent releases in little puffs.
The skunky tuberose is odd, mostly mushrooms and an earthy scent I couldn’t identify but I think is the vetiver.
Claire de Lune is gorgeous and much less over the top than I expected. I can’t even detect the oud, just a bright clear jasmine that is very wearable and doesn’t give me a headache. I may have to open a dedicated savings account in case he is ever able to offer it again.
I tried the other tobacco, don’t remember the name, and didn’t like it as well as the dregs of #50, and I tried Ocean of Flowers which I didn’t care much for.
Thanks for your thoughts on these!
I’m wearing Illuminum Tomato Leaf today. It is such a bright, cheerful scent.
Happy Wednesday!!
I like this one. How is the longevity?
Montale Full Incense and a glass of mineral water. I am eyeing a sample of Rishi Bao Zhong after my staff meeting.
I was disconcerted when I couldn’t find Rishi Bao Zhong on Fragrantica. It would be helpful if NST folk could be very clear in their comments on which addiction they are feeding at any given time. ;^)
We need a cup of tea emoticon 🙂
Ha!
SOTD is Le Labo Santal 33…which I should have saved for Friday because I rarely wear it (mainly because one of my good friends loved it on me and bought it herself and it’s now her signature scent).
I bet it makes you think of her now, and isn’t that nice?
This and coffee for me right now.
If there is a scent I love on me, I wouldn’t want one of my friends whom I see regularly to make it his or her signature scent! Does this make me a bad person?
No! I had to stop wearing L by Lolita Lempicka because a friend made it her signature scent and it smelled vile on her.
Scent Twin, also wearing Eau Sauvage today! 🙂
Hey twin!
Serge Lutens Bois de Violette today. So perfect for spring. It’s a beauty day in the northeast.
Tea of the moment is Kusmi Label Imperial. Another good one.
I haven’t tried this one, love most kusmi teas I’ve tried.
I bought a sampler pack. So far I’m two for two to the good.
Probably my favorite SL. You smell wonderfully cheerful!
Thanks Elisa! I hope it’s sunny in your area today!
Both sound rather wonderful.
Thanks SophieC. I agree!
I really like that fragrance. It’s fleeting, but so lovely and perfect for a spring day.
I find many Serge Lutens lack staying power. At least those that I have sampled. I should have brought my bottle with me. I have to be careful at work. Someone I work with is sensitive to scent so I try not to overspray most days. I’m still getting whiffs but it will be mostly gone in another hour.
Same – all of his lighter fare is fleeting on me.
I haven’t worn this in ages, as my decant is gone. I should do something about it, as it’s beautiful.
Gris Clair to go with the gray day (thunderstorms all last night, yay!). Though it’s hard to not just wear Lyric all the time….
Gris Clair is one of those scents that I never thnk about when I am trying to decide what I want to spritz, but once in a while I wake up knowing it is exactly what I want to wear and I have to dig out my decant.
Continuing my ‘forgotten’ L’Artisan sample box. SOTD is “L’eau d’ambre extrême” which is a warm and comfortable amber. In mood, but not in smell, it reminds me of Guerlain “Cuir Beluga” as either would be good comfort scents. I don’t really ‘do’ comfort scents though, so although pleased to have tried this I don’t need it. :^)
Cuir Beluga is in my forgotten samples pile..
I wanf to bathe in Cuir Beluga. It is one of my favorite perfumes.
Well, this week is turning out to be a real humdinger, so I’m in head-to-toe cuddly jersey and cashmere and a liberal misting of Vanille Galante, for comfort and, hopefully, a buffer between me and all of it.
Hope the VG keeps you comforted.
Oh dear – all of Feb was like that for me. Hope things get better for you soon, but in the meantime enjoy the cuddles. 🙂
Sorry your week isn’t great but jersey, cashmere and vanilla sounds beautiful, elegant and comforting. Hope they work their magic.
Hope things improve very soon. 🙂
Yay! for Vanille Galante. 🙂
It’s cold and rainy here today, and I’m in Cuir Cannage for its warmth and coziness.
I liked that one. Unfortunately, my decant bottle BROKE, so I don’t have any more.
It’s okay… I had decided that it was good, but I would use up my two-and-a-quarter bottles of Cuir de Lancome before I bought any more floral leathers. But the small hatbox I keep on my dresser for decants (there’s a larger one for full bottles in current rotation) smells great!
Ahh, CdL is gorgeous too! I need to do an arm-to-arm comparison of that and Cuir Cannage.
Jasmine et Cigarette with an added spritz of Diptyque EI Jasmin from my hoarded sample.
We’re moving to an apt next month that has a back yard that only we can access! Ok, it’s a small slab of concrete, but for NYC this is a BIG deal. I’m already plotting what plants to grow, but I need a potted Jasmin plant real bad. Any suggestions for online gardening places?
Logee’s Greenhouse. They sell exotic tropical plants and they have an online website. They are located not far from where I live, just over the border in Connecticut. Anyway, that is where I buy my jasmine plants.
Oh, great! I’ll check it out and not too far from NYC so shipping shouldn’t take forever. We haven’t been able to keep any indoor plants because of one of our kitties. She’ll eat anything green so I’m psyched about this.
I wonder if you could put your plant in a hanging basket to keep it out of your babies reach? I have the variety called Maid of Orleans. It has a beautiful indolic jasmine scent and blooms quite well when it is happily situated.
I’ve thought about hanging plants in our current apt but I fear that that determined young lady will find some nearby roost from which to get access to them. She’s that crafty 😉
I have the same problem. Cat nibbling on plants. Or, if I buy cut flowers, one of them knocks it over to play in the water. We have stopped having any greenery. Hope you find the jasmine…will be a lovely smell as the weather warms up.
We had an arched structure in our backyard in CA that was covered in jasmine. Smelled soooo good.
There are a lot of jasmine hedges around the homes where I grew up and when I was there this past summer, it was heavenly at night.
Wow that sounds a beautiful combination, I am sure you smell lovely with the best smoky undertone.
Thanks! I’m loving all the jasmine with that hint of hay-like tobacco.
You smell great!
Thank you!
That’s a VERY BIG deal! Congrats! I would love, love some outdoor space one day, but I also like to be high vs. first floor. It will need to be a sizable balcony..
Enjoy your planning!!
I’m psyched about it. The downside is being on the ground floor but it’s a fairly quiet residential street and the bedroom faces the rear so I’m hoping it’ll be ok. Although we did see some apartments with nice balconies, too. I’m very sensitive to noise that I’m not making.
Yep, I can completely relate. I use a Boise noise canceler at home quite a bit 🙂
I probably should have gotten a noise canceler but use a vornado fan which helps, and my fist against the wall when it doesn’t 😉
Siblings, Robin!
Dolce Vita Christian Dior, a sweet spring floral. ????
Dolce Vita is nice. I’ve got a mini of the parfum, and it’s so sweet and rich… like good fruitcake.
And so rarely hear about DV anymore!
Lovely springy weather today, so I am in Chamade!
Last week I wore my pdt decant that I poured into an empty parfum bottle; the pdt is more powdery and a bit heavier than the edt.
Today I’m wearing edt from a very funky 70’s looking bottle I bought on ebay – part glass, part tortoiseshell plastic, with the sprayer incorporated into the plastic. The aldehydes in the top have gone off, so the first ten minutes are all hairspray and nail polish remover, but after that, it’s beautiful Chamade, a little lighter than the powdery pdt.
OH! and I’m trying to pick out a chicken breed to go in my new (secondhand) coop. Hoping to have 5-6 hens, no rooster. I want them for eggs, but have pretty much decided I don’t want Leghorns, which avoid human contact. I’d like a friendlier breed that lays well and tolerates our range of temperature (averages from 20 to 98F, though we sometimes dip outside that).
Anybody have recommendations?
Hi Mals,
One of my neighbors just did a ton of research on this. He is selling eggs. He is planning to buy more chickens and is looking for Australian chickens that are black in color. I think they are called the Australorp. He said that they eat less feed and, I would imagine, would be good fit for the temps in your area.
http://www.livestockconservancy.org/index.php/heritage/internal/australorp
Thanks! I don’t know what’s available in the area (I could probably order from a breeder but then there’s all that shipping $$$), but I’ll think about those.
I wish I could have easier access to fresh laid eggs. Years ago when I was in Syracuse NY, there was an excellent co-op there. They sold these enormous pastel colored eggs that were so delicious. I recommend you get whatever chickens lay those kind of eggs, lol. I have no idea what they are. Good luck!! 😉
I’m not a chicken expert, but I would say the old reliable breeds are a good bet. Orpingtons, Wyandottes, and Australorps are what lots of people I know have and my grandpa always had Plymouths and Easter Eggers. I’m not sure about any of their cold tolerances though.
I like chickens so am always thrilled when somebody gets them. Someday I hope to have some of my own. We used to have guard chickens in the parrot aviaries and they were so much fun to try to outwit when I was a kid. At one point we had an adorable little banty hen that layed like crazy and I loved searching for her stashed eggs.
Aw, I can see you now playing with the chickies!
One of my jobs as a child was taking care of the chickens – as I recall the Barred Rocks and Rhode Island Reds were the friendliest.
Oh, and I grew up in VA (near Charlottesville) so the weather was similar, and both breeds were good layers.
The Barred Rocks are certainly eye-catching. I may be limited in what the local feed stores have to offer, but I just know I don’t want anything generally recognized as cranky!
I don’t know about their temperature requirements, but I’ve heard extremely good things about silver laced Wyandottes — they’re supposed to be VERY friendly, good layers, and are gorgeous to boot!
They *are* pretty. Thanks!
Ditto Chamade for me. You smell lovely!
I didn’t get to hear the entire segment, but they were talking about George Martin on the BBC World Service this morning during my drive to work. Sad news, but it was so uplifting to revisit his incredible influence on music.
Wearing Encens Mythique D’Orient. Nice enough, but I was more excited about it last night than I am right now. Now, it doesn’t quite feel lively enough, but at least it’s pleasant.
I like Encens-still on the fence if its FB worthy
I totally agree about George Martin, his musical influence is incredibly far reaching, very sad news.
Happy “Hump Day” everyone! Today is a dreary, rainy day in Houston. We lucked up last night and dodged severe thunderstorms. But, according to the meteorologists, we’re not out of the woods just yet. Keeping my fingers crossed. My SOTD is Deseo by Jennifer Lopez. Its a pleasant scent to wear for such an unpleasant day.
So happy to hear you escaped Mother Nature unscathed!
I am waking winter with a grievous heart today. Temps in the mid 80’s, so I will combat that with AG Ninfeo Mio. Happy Humpday to all ????
Wow, 80 degrees seems crazy for March. At least you smell good!
Thanks! Love this scent. I would like to put Mother Nature on Snooze, but she’s not cooperating????
Come up to New England for a visit. We’re going to have a high in the mid sixties today. Just perfect but still crazy mild weather for March. Last year at this time we were melting off 5 feet of snow.
I think Mother Nature should get a timeout for unseasonable temps!
You smell fresh and lovely!
Thanks to you for introducing me to the lovely NM ????
Jacomo Silences pulled out of purgatory today, I don’t think I’ve worn this in over a year! I can’t stand the bottle but love what’s inside.
Another idea for Friday! I also haven’t worn it since last Spring. Such a wonderful green.
In Fracas today. It is truly uplifting and feels not a little outrageous – which is what I needed! Matched with a grey silk shirt, a gunmetal silver pencil skirt and dark silver pointy ankle boots – all of which reflect the London grey but make me smile.
love ankle boots!
They are fun!
So many snappy dressers here! Sad to say, I’m just a yoga pants/tshirt kinda gal, but I love reading about all the sophisticated outfits that many post here. Interesting too, the scent/clothing combos????
Thank you – I love yoga pants when am home/ chilled at the weekend.
I am with you Deva-I am not a snappy dresser at this moment.
These days I can only still fit into my maternity pants and tops that are easy to nurse in are my outfit of convenience.
Sounds like my kind of an outfit. And my kind of a scent, too 🙂
Thanks – I do enjoy it as I have to remain office appropriate but it’s nice to be able to express a little personality!
Sounds like a gorgeous outfit, and Fracas is wonderful, gr8 way of fighting this miserable weather we’re having!
You smell fantastic!
Wearing the last of my decant of Osmanthus Interdite today. Sad to see it go, and would like a full bottle.
Such a great scent! My favorite osmanthus and time to move it to the front for Spring!
I’m wearing vintage Yvresse/Champagne that the wonderful SophieC has kindly sent to me. I smell like a slightly sinister bellini.
You smell lovely. Wish I still had some.
It’s almost midnight here and I can still smell it a bit. Probably the most intriguing fruity scent I’ve ever tried.
Awesome, isn’t it? Reminds me a bit of Goutal’s MPCPC. I know it’s not your favorite house, but have you tried this gem?
Ooh what a wonderful description – that really is spot on.
Thank you! I’m pretty happy with my metaphor myself 🙂
That’s such an intriguing description! champagne/yvresse sounds wonderful.
Definitely worth trying, although I don’t know how much this has changed.
Bons mots
🙂
I’ve never smelled it but your description very much makes me want to.
Not sure if it’s to everyone’s taste, but worth trying even just for reference. I’ve never smelled anything quite like it.
I had to look up what a Bellini actually is, cocktails not really being my thing, but I think that description works. I don’t own Yvresse/Champagne, but I do love it. Another one of those great Grojsmans.
I like it better than I thought I would. Do you know if it has changed much through the years.
No, I remember trying it when it first came out, and finding it quite disturbing. Mind you at the time I think I had only worn Anais Anais, Paris YSL and the original Nina. So I wasn’t familiar with a chypre at all. I’ve since tried it again, and loved it, but I honestly can’t comment as to the difference.
Holy Mother of Perfumes! It’s only 11 am and I am waaay behind in these comments – 162!! Is this some new am blog speed record?! It’s certainly a fun place to be.
SOTD in honor of spring is my Chamade extrait. Ahhhh – so beautiful! I normally wear my older edt and vintage pdt which is mostly greens and balsams, but today I’m getting a lot more rose and sandalwood in the extrait. All hail bountiful spring!!!
It’s 4pm for me over here, and you smell utterly wonderful. Might follow your lead tomorrow.
Chamaaaaaade!
Scent twin.
😉
I only have Chamade in extrait de parfum and it is just stunningly beautiful!
YES! Ravishing as I was thinking yesterday.
Rough morning. But I smell lovely in vintage Panthere.
I hope the day gets better for you.
Oh, you smell lovely- great armor for a tough morning!
You do smell lovely–I almost wore Panthere this morning but switched at the last minute.
Hope everything turned out fine.
Would love to smell this! Bet it’s fab.
I’m wearing Jo Malone Orange Blossom lotion topped with Serge Lutens Fleur d’Oranger. And George Martin–what a wonderful producer.
Yes, one of the greats.
U smell lovely.
You smell like summer. Lovely.
Thanks to ajellyfish mentioning the sale over at Hautelook, I caved and ordered L’Artisan Parfumeur – La Chasse Aux Papillions. Just couldn’t resist. Keep me away from that site!!!
SOTD is Chanel #5 Eau Premiere
You got a great deal though!
Well I just saw your post Kris and scooted over there to Hautelook. Got a small bottle of Tea for Two for 40 bucks. Thanks!!
Glad I could enable you.
George Martin, the Beatles, the sixties and a perfume I’d forgotten I had? I’ve got this! I’m wearing Yardley’s Oh! de London.
Perfect! I think you win.
Nice!
WOW- that’s too perfect!
I’m in Eli Saab L’Eau Couture. I just wanted something pretty, and this fits the bill given our spring weather.
This has become a favorite, go-to scent for me. I find it quite wearable, versatile, and yet office-friendly. You smell great 🙂
SOTD is Chanel #19 Poudre, perfect for a Spring day in the Philly suburbs, and wearing a light green tunic top, just because I am sick of sweaters.
no 19 Poudre is so beautiful and I find it very retro
I really love it, just wish I could smell it longer on me. Others can , but I can’t after a couple of hours. It is retro, but I like retro, and my boyfriend bought it for me, and he is very retro.
Love 19 Poudre. I started the daunting task of laundering all of my heavy winter sweaters, cardigans and sweater dresses last week before packing them up for the season. I can only do a couple per day due to space issues so this is going to take foreverrrrrrr.
I feel your pain, have to do that myself, sigh. I am glad that Spring is here.
Agreed, perfect choice and you smell lovely!
Thank you.
Great choice! My husband gave me a bottle for Christmas. I also agree with it smelling retro. Love it.
My boyfriend went into Bloomingdales at Christmas to buy this for me, and the SA told him there was no such fragrance. He told her he had been buying it for me for the past couple of years, and to please check…darn if she did not find it hidden away in stock drawer. Amazing that a SA would not even know what she had in stock. I worked at a Lancome counter in the 80’s, and we had to check stock all the time.
SOTD is Simply, Clinique’s underappreciated and short-lived “soy-based” perfume. It’s a sheer floral with a touch of anise and sea salt comparable to Tokyo Milk’s Arsenic– but unlike Arsenic, it fades fast. Still, I like it.
I’m in So Elixir Bois Sensuel (Yves Rocher)–which I did not even know that I owned. Found it rattling around in my soap drawer. It is a small splash bottle, so I must have gotten it free w purchase. Its okay! It is not a style I wear–mostly because I am super picky about my vanillas. But if you like non-gourmand vanillas (I do! But more as a base than a front row note) and clean, sheer patchouli, this feels well made and it punches way above its price.
I think I have this rattling around somewhere too.
When work gets stressful, I tend to go for my comfort scents, so today it’s Hypnotic Poison for me.
You smell fantastic 🙂
Just broke into a Byredo Discovery set and trying Gypsy Water today…
Powdery and close to the skin…not too much sillage or oomph though. We shall see how it progresses…
I’m desperately trying NOT to buy this set…. 🙁
All in all quite nice…smokey powder I would call it. Pleasantly unisex.
I haven’t tried any other Byredo scents but I think I have a sample of Mojave Ghost floating around as well.
I bought the set around Xmas time and have been delaying gratification and this morning I thought…no time like the present…and ripped it open. 😉
Taking advantage of cooler weather today with a test drive of Sonoma Scent Studio Yin and Ylang.
Have a good Hump Day, everyone!
Glad somebody did a PSA for Hautelook – 60% off L’Artisan is amazing! Afraid I went overboard: Dzing!, Dzonghka, Mechant Loup, Al Oudh, Mure et Musc, La Chasse Aux Papillions, and the sampler set!!!
I’ll probably give most of the bottles to my S.O. to gift at a later date so I can have a small modicum of self control. 😛
Also, wanted to say “Thank you, Robin!” I had a ton of fun at the Portland meet up last night for the Grand Opening of Fumerie Parfumerie. If any NSTers are in town I highly recommend a visit there! Also, NSTers IRL are just as kind and generous as online, and extremely knowledgeable. We will be having another meet up to tour the lab of Imaginary Authors perfumer Josh Meyer, so all in all the meet up for Portland has been a huge success!
SOTD = Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache which smells like “sweet pine” on me.
Won from the Fumerie Parfumerie raffle last night. It is rather linear, although the sillage gets louder and then quieter every hour or so. The sweetness is probably from the strawberry note listed, but unfortunately it feels like an artificial strawberry rather than natural. The pine and “artificial” notes keep it away from gourmand, although it is bringing me to the edge of what I consider uncomfortably sweet. Apparently application is key with this one, so I will keep experimenting. Hopefully there is a way to amplify the pine, which I am loving!
Portland (OR) meet up? WHY DID I NOT KNOW THIS??? WHAT. I need be with the cool kids!
Are you in the area? Drop me an e-mail (should be linked with gravatar, but it is my username at out look dawt comm) and I’ll send you details for the next meet up. Robin started a meet up post a few weeks ago if you want to go check it out. 🙂
That one didn’t work for me either. Too sweet and Christmas candle-y for me. I did use it to spray the curtains in my bathroom, though. I think the only forest scent I enjoy is SSS Forest Walk which smells so natural and like an actual forest.
Oh dear, now that you have mentioned Christmas candle that is exactly what it smells like! I think it is the sweet strawberry note that edged it into candle territory, because the pine note is quite good (smells like an actual tree).
I actually like the artificial strawberry note; it brings back fond memories of a Strawberry Shortcake light switch that smelled like strawberries every time I touched it (which was awfully girly for a tomboy, but I still liked it), and the note makes the fragrance more perfumey and not an on-the-nose pine. The SSS sounds like a wonderful blend of greenery – wish they made candles!!! Is it strange that I like a perfume that smells like a candle and want a candle that smells like a perfume? 😉
Obviously I am now biased to like the scent because it reminds me of the meetup (+ free!!!), but it’s a welcome addition to my collection. It fills a unique role in my wardrobe, and it would be a perfect scent for setting up a Christmas tree. Wish it were colder, as I feel the strawberry note could easily become cloying in warmer weather.
Oh man! I am now vividly conjuring the smell if those Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I’m not sure what my aversion to those Christmas candles is all about or, rather, smelling like one. Even SL FeA smells like candle to me. Anyway, do enjoy! And how come I didn’t know about that light switch?!
SO glad I don’t have any L’Artisan loves…
Perhaps you just haven’t found one yet? 😉
Actually, if they had Seville I might be in trouble. That’s probably the only one I am a fan of. I recently got a sample of Safran Troublant and it was ok but a bit too much on the ginger/spice mix. Of course La Chasse is lovely and I’d gladly welcome this to my collection should it be freely given 😉
Yay, so glad there was already a successful meet up!!
Ooh, are we the first? It was perfect timing since it was the grand opening for a perfume store!
I did the same type of thing at Hautelook today. Bought a few goodies! I have to stop this buying, but it is so fun.
Yes, I should probably unsubscribe to Hautelook now. That site is so dangerous! Though the only perfume they sell that I am interested in thus far has been L’Artisan, and I’ve pretty much bought all of those so hopefully my wallet will be safe!
Ooh, so nice you were able to meet up AND you won something! I’ll be in Portland the first weekend in August and will email the Portlanders once my plans gel up.
Continuing on my theme of wearing perfumes I haven’t worn in a while through neglect and not because it is not appropriate for the season —
SOTD = AG Nuit Etoilee EDT
I don’t know if there is an EDP formulation but as it is, it is plenty potent. 4 sprays from my feminine dark blue bottle and I am in lemony campfire smokey heaven. I am very happy I wore this today as it masked the uncharacteristic nefarious odor on the train this morning!
A word on Hermes Hermessence and Nomad travel spray splits, if you are interested in being part of one at any time, just drop me an email. When I get 3-4 interested parties to fill a set, I will manage the split. If it so happens that Saks or Bergdorf is having some kind of promotion at the time a set fills up, I will take advantage of it so you get more for your $s. U.S. only please. This is my way of giving back to a community that has enriched my social network!
Ah, nefarious odors on public transit- Lord, what away to start the day!
I know, right?
I have the EDP, also in a beautiful blue bottle, and its gorgeous – I haven’t tried to EDT, though, so I can’t compare. (I think Victoria on BdJ compares the two in her review, if you’re curious.)
Thanks for the heads up!
I’ve compared them and the edp won me over. It’s my fav AG and still lurking on my fb list. Maybe next split meet? 😉
Ooh, maybe and the bottles are easy to split! Actually, we don’t have to wait for Splitmeet do we? I’ll check things out and propose something. Anyone else interested in AG Nuit Etoilee EDP, please email me 🙂
There is an edp and I very much prefer it to the edt. It has less citrus and is richer/deeper/more incensey.
Oooh, good to know!
Tough morning with business related internal software meeting, circuit design and an office move plan. I got up in people’s feelings and it’s not even 10 AM yet (I start at 615 AM)!
OOF. This adult business is for the birds.
SOTD: Still rainy and chilly, so it is Tom Ford Noir Extreme, after a shower with Smoky Poppy shower gel (The Body Shop, discontinued). For all the EXTREME MASCULINE MACHO marketing language, this is light, spicy sweet, vanilla/amber powder. This for the guy who wants to have a long kiss and cuddle and dessert by the fire. This is also for the woman who wants the same!
OOTD: Black cotton fitted blouse, dark indigo high waist jeans, white floral scarf and leopard pumps because if you are going to have a software architecture meeting, you might as well wear (fake!) leopard print.
You smell fantastic, ede !
Rock On !!! ????
Ack, capital E ! Sorry!
Ede.
Thanks! 😀
Hard to imagine you getting up in someone’s feelings unless it was warranted (based on your previous comments).
Never underestimate the feelings of overburdened software production people! 😛 I pointed out issues in the software architecture that was causing issues on our business side ( we stand the chance of losing $MONEY$) and became VERY INSISTENT that the issues needed to be addressed in a more timely manner. People were not feeling it.
Vintage Armani. There is an austere quality to this dark rose that makes it very suitable for those work situations when we need to smell smart. Very enjoyable, too.
RIP, Naná Vasconcelos.
Had to look him up. Are you a fan?
Yes, big time. Wonderful musician, took Brazilian afro percussion to high brow jazz level. Gone too soon…
Molyneux Vivre EDT. Like it!
I have some of that hiding in the back of a drawer, too. 😉
I went to the Fumerie Parfumerie opening last night too, with SublimiSomnium, MarjorieRose, and AnnE. I had no idea there were so many perfumistos and perfumistas in Portland, the shop was crammed. There was the opportunity to sniff anything you wanted from the lines they carry and the squirt of MDCI Peche Cardinale all night and into the morning when I got sick of it and washed it off. I, too, won a bottle in the raffle–Slumberhouse Pear & Olive. I can forsee that having two perfume stores carrying just about anything one could wish for is going to be a real temptation. I smelled a lot of good incense last night, so I’m wearing La Liturgie les Heures.
Sounds like a wonderful time was had by all!
Could become a road trip destination (tho I’m on the opposite coast).
4711 for a bright, breezy day. Yay, remembered to comment before reading! (small victories)
My favorite, favorite cologne. A happy childhood memory of both Mom and Papa giving themselves and us kids a spritz shower of that scent before going out into the sweltering NYC heat.
AG Songes! Lovely, with wisps hanging on at nine hours. This is a keeper….
Songes is beautiful.
Continuing the Week of the Neglected with DK Gold. I’d forgotten how much I like this one.
Gold is good stuff.
Wearing a cautious amount of Bas de Soie at work today.
You smell great! I’ll probably be wearing that one either tomorrow or Friday. I have a severely neglected decant.
Rainy and warm(ish) wearing NR Narciso again. It really has become one of my absolute favorites.
Scent twins, I am loving Narciso too. I haven’t tried it during warm weather but can’t wait.
Sotd was Vetiver Tonka and now in amber scent for bed, one of profumi di firenzes but can’t remember the name.
Late to the party but I started out the day wearing De Profundis. Now that has worn off, what should I wear next? Frapin 1270? Vintage Jicky? I still haven’t worked up the nerve to break the seal of 1950’s Shalimar parfum nor that huge bottle of vintage Chamade.
Work up the nerve, Shalimar would always be my choice. 😉
It will be lovely, Dawn.
Two balmy springlike days here:
Yesterday temps were 70+ degrees with bright sunshine and EL Sensuous edt was my SOTD. I love this one in spring – the honeyed woody note is lighter and airier but still reminiscent of the original and a soft but clear magnolia note sings above it all. I generally don’t like white floral notes very much so I’m surprised I like this version as much as I do.
Today, still warm but a bit rainy, a moody blue kind of day. Snowdrops are blooming everywhere, little green shoots are poking their heads through the ground, and I can ‘hear’ the daffodils growing taller each day. It’s the perfect day for one of my long-time favorites, vintage Worth Je Reviens. Mmmmmm . . .
Beautiful sunny day here, bought a bunch of lavender plants for the backyard so I can have my own mini Provence. 🙂
Started the day in Nuit Noire, but this must have been reformulated, it is so weak. It is long gone so I switched to Amouage Gold. Mmmm… Want to get the body cream in this.
I had good intentions of wearing all sorts of interesting things this week, but in this unseasonable spring heat, all I want to do is hose myself down with Diptyque Essences Ensensees 2014 (the mimosa one).
