Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Rendezvous ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 10 February 2016 6 Comments

Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Rendezvous

Indie line Dawn Spencer Hurwitz has launched Rendezvous, a new unisex animalic fragrance.

I let my imagination go to a time and place when animalic perfumes reigned supreme. Of course, I included the four traditional animal notes: musk, civet, ambergris, and castoreum with added elements of aged oakmoss, and botanical “animalics”; ambrette co2, labdanum, and hyracium tincture (aka African Stone). The heart is filled with indolic juhi jasmine, orange flower absolute, and gardenia balanced by a slightly sharp and spicy white pepper and aldehyde top note. The result is a lush, provocative, and thoroughly sexy perfume for both men and women.

Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Rendezvous is available in a variety of sizes and formats, for more information see the website.

I’m sure I will end up trying it, after I work my way through all the DSH samples I already have that are waiting to be tried

Love the name, bottle and concept. The fragrance sounds totally NOT me, but beautiful for someone else!

I honestly can’t smell it at all in my mind — no idea if it is me!

That sounds both wonderfully skanky and really scary to me! I do love a good animalic, but this just sounds too traditional. I just know that the aldehydes, the oakmoss, the pepper and the jasmine would give me the headache from hell. 🙁 My heart lies with the sweet tuberose or orange blossom animalics, and with animalic gourmands.

Yet another in a long list of DSH perfumes I need to try, though this one pretty much overshot everything else on the list. 🙂
