    From NST’s original new fragrance announcement, I see that Halfeti is a small Turkish village on the banks of the Euphrates River where black roses may have grown. There are photos of these roses on the internet, but also some debate among gardeners as to whether they really exist outside Photoshop. In any case, the ancient town has been submerged under the waters behind a dam on the Euphrates:
