It's Thursday. If you're more awake than I am, do take a moment to tell us what fragrance you're wearing today.
I am waking up very very slowly this morning. No perfume yet; I may just pick something from whatever the rest of ya'll are wearing. And I have not yet figured out a fragrance for tomorrow and I am not even sure I have anything appropriate.
Reminder: tomorrow, 8 May, will be Bottle Porn Friday: wear something you bought in part or in full because of the bottle, or a fragrance you think has a beautiful (or otherwise perfect) bottle.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2015, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Terre d’Hermes (EDT). Can barely smell anything today because of my allergies. 🙁
Sorry. Looks like a bad pollen season here too.
It has been unusually dry here, the tree pollen counts are off the charts. Hoping for some rain soon to wash some of this stuff out of the air.
Good luck! My son is going through Nasonex like crazy.
SOTD is lipstick rose. Feeling femme today. This one tends to not last on me, so I brought the small sample I have so that I can smell good all day.
I was up early, at least for me. At work at 7! Being productive though 🙂
Yeah, I was up on time at 6:30. It’s the productive part I’m having trouble with.
Am back home, missing my cat, packing, and sampling Isle Ryder from HYLNDS which is very interesting/different
It really is, isn’t it? I can’t decide how positively or negatively I feel about it, but it captures my attention.
Same…that whole series is interesting.
I’ve also tried Bitter Rose, Broken Spear and it was definitely INteresting. For me it was just a little too ugly, whereas I think Isle Ryder manages very interesting with considerably less ugly. I’d love to try the other HYLNDS scents.
Surprisingly Isle Ryder was one of the five or six scents that my friend’s 8-year-old really loved from my collection. I sent her home with a few decants, including that one, and I always wonder what happened next! They live far away, and the little girl made up her own names for the scents when she labeled her vials. (Genius on her part!) My friend chose Sisley’s Eau de Campagne for herself and says they wear the perfumes sometimes. I think that’s all I’ll ever know.
A budding perfumista! What fun!
She is such a great kid all around. No wonder she has great taste in perfume! 🙂
Good luck. I know this is an incredibly tough time for you.
Driving home from dinner last night, I was listening to The World on NPR, and a story about independent perfumers came on! If I can post the link, I went and found the article/audio when I got home because I needed to share it with *someone*: http://www.pri.org/stories/2015-05-06/independent-perfumers-are-making-big-splash-fragrance-world
In honor of small perfume houses, I’m wearing House of Cherry Bomb again. I got a sample set of each of the house’s scents, so I’m working my way through them. Wearing Pink Haze today, and the metallic nature feels very urban, which I like a lot. The scent on the whole, I find pleasant, but I don’t see myself wearing it much. It doesn’t feel much like a personal scent (to me)…more like a memory.
Thanks for sharing, Eleebelle. I love Twisted Lily, and Shangri-La. Funny tidbit: I attended the “unveiling” event. I think I can recognize my voice in the background track, one of the loud enthusiastic ones. We had so much fun that day! Hiram Green was lovely to talk to, and I chatted with him so long that poor Eric had to break in and make time for the reporter to do her interview. The spritzing sound moment during the 4th minute is funny to me, totally mechanical and unromantic. I really enjoy hearing the perfumers’ voices. AND the opening fakeout compares beer with perfume. Maybe some of yesterday’s birthday cheer is back! Thank you again Eleebelle. 🙂
How funny to hear your own voice in the background! I bet that event was a ton of fun. I’m glad I could share some of the excitement I experienced when the story came on the radio!
Thanks for posting this, Eleebelle! I heard part of it last night and had hoped someone would post the link.
Ooh, thanks Ellebelle!
Nocturnes de Caron, for a day of doctors appointments. Yesterday’s birthday cheer ending abruptly.
Nocturnes de Caron was my signature scent in the 1980s. Divine!
Happy belated!
Thank you!
A beauty!
I wish it had been on me. I wonder if my sample had turned. It felt sharp, out-of-balance, and not even pretty. I really thought it would be pretty.
It should have been quite pretty. The original formulation (I know for a fact that it has been reformulated) was a scent I would picture on a young and quite feminine lady…it was light floral with a buttery, ambery, vanilla drydown. Almost indescribable but oh so pretty.
I’m in the new Diptyque frag Florabellio. Not loving it so far. There’s a watery/marine accord that I dislike. Kind of like a Glade plug-in 🙁 I’ll give it a few days, but so far, not so good.
Recently sampled this one and it was not what I expected. The sesame and coffee notes threw me off as I was expecting a floral fragrance, given the name.
See I’m not getting the sesame/coffee notes at all. That might have been interesting, but all I get are the loud marine notes. And not much floral stuff, which I would have preferred. A reviewer on Fragrantica compared it to hot diapers, lol. Not sure I get that, but I’m not in love.
Hot diapers!
Glade, ugh.
This one was not for me, either. Fortunately i got room temp diapers. (Jk, gross! )
In my indecisiveness this morning I reached for my old standby bottle at work-French Lime Blossom. However, I had a sample of Blackberry & Bay so I topped off the FLB with that.
I’m not very awake today either… the dog suddenly went NUTS last night around 2 am, barking at something outside. Our neighbors’ German shepherd was barking her head off, too, and I heard something else yapping away, which could either have been our other neighbors’ Jack Russell (though it’s a fair distance for that sound to travel), or possibly foxes in the small patch of woods in the Pond Field. Foxes won’t bother cattle, but The CEO was worried about something getting to our son’s sheep, so he went out to check. Found nothing. All the same, I’m not over the disturbed sleep.
It’s going to be warm today. Thinking of wearing my sample of Ostara.
I also picked up a sample of Peoneve at the same time, which surprised me by being more jammy rose than peony. I was expecting something like MDCI Rose di Siwa or DelRae Coup del Foudre, both of which are light fresh rose with peony, but Peoneve was a little different than I had anticipated. Haven’t decided yet if I like it or not.
That sounds like an exhausting night! Good Grief
Atleast you smell good this morning
Yikes, sounds like a rough night. Hope you get some better sleep tonight.
I totally agree with you about Peoneve, and it’s one of my (many) favorite rose fragrances. The bottle and box are so pretty, too! I usually don’t keep boxes, but I made an exception in this case.
Hope you sleep better tonight.
Good to know about Peoneve. I tend to think of peony perfumes as either very light or just another disguise for a laundry musk floral, but I’ll try to remember to sample this.
I hope your sheep will be OK. Dogs doing nuts up here normally means bear, fox or coyote. Maybe it was just a stray dog?
I’ll be interested to hear what you think about Peoneve. I’ve not heard of this yet. I don’t need anymore roses, but it’s always nice to know if there’s another good one out there.
Oh gosh, that must be something! I’m in the DC suburbs and the wildlife here is astonishing. I’ve had birds fly into the house, chipmunks scamper in, and groundhogs trundle by. Barred owls punctuate the night, and there is nothing so eerie as foxes calling you out of your dreams.
One arm Siwa the other Moon Fever.
I enjoying Memo- and the samples. Moon Fever would smell great on a man-
Anyone have any Memo favs
Of the ones I tried I really liked Siwa
I love Shams Oud.
Today is both a very busy (graduation at the university) and sad day for me (anniversary of the death of a friend), so I am wearing some of the last bit of Apres l”Ondee extrait I have. I reached for it almost without thinking this morning.
Sounds like an appropriate day for Apres l’Ondee.
Wishing you a day more sweet than bitter.
It’s going to be blistering here today so I thought I’d take a refreshing stroll through the woods with SSS Forest Walk. So soothing and cooling- one of my summer staples 🙂
Hermes Cuir d’Ange. Lightweight powdered suede with a hint of flowers, warm and slightly dirty-animalic and very close to the skin. Love it.
Just sent an email to the post office today. Ordered something off E-bay and it seems to be lost in the mail (been lost for 2 weeks). Sometimes things sit in limbo with the post office but geez, it’s still saying that it departed Conneticut. I think today I will wear Theorema today or Lolita Lempicka.
Oh, no! I hope they find your package!
I was thinking about tomorrow’s bottle theme and Lolita Lempicka was the first thing that came to mind from my hoard 😉
Wearing Eau de Merveilles today because the bottle that you can tilt on either side is quite cute. I like the orange and sparkles on the glass. It’s going to be warm today and I think I’ll be wearing this one a lot this summer.
I’m not entirely certain what I’ll wear for tomorrow either. Considering how my week has gone, I might indulge in a little retail therapy after work. I really don’t need to buy stuff, especially perfume, but who knows. Maybe my practical-minded self will kick in and I won’t get anything. Or I’ll spend more than I should.
You smell amazing! EdM is probably one of my dessert island perfumes. And the bottle is lovely.
*desert* island. Although dessert island sounds delicious 😉
Both. Desert island with EdM and dessert island with all the sweets I could possibly want 😀
EdM is one of myfaves too! Wonderful on a warm summer night.
I sampled all of the Merveilles available at Sephora last weekend and could not smell a thing! Although, I had been in the store for over an hour so perhaps my nose was already on overload. The bottles really are lovely.
EdM and the Ambre ones are my faves from the line. At first, I thought they were too light, but the more I wore them the more I fell in love with them and understood their subtle tones. They aren’t power house fragrances, but they did end up lasting longer on me than I thought. Get a sample from Sephora and wear it a few days and see if you feel the same.
Will do! Thanks for the advice, Jenkr!
I have a musk anosmia problem with the Merveilles. I can only smell them just a little bit or not correctly.
Oh no! I’m so sorry. Wow, that must affect how you can smell a lot of fragrances.
It does – some fragrances are completely invisible to me, like Feminite de Bois, Dolce Vita, Cashmere Mist, just to name a few. I can also tell when it happens b/c a fragrance will just totally disappear after the opening, like Aerin Lauder Evening Rose, or they’ll smell “wavy” like they are coming and going, or just totally off b/c a whole portion of the recipe is not there. Thankfully there are hundreds of other perfums that I can smell completely and enjoy!
The musk I can’t smell is SL MKK. Well I can barely get a whiff of *something* skanky if I put a lot on, and hoover my arm. Best to avoid that one lest I skank-out the universe, I think :^)
I cannot smell it proprly either, I was soooo disappointed when I visited the SL boutique in Paris for the first time. I do smell something pretty nice and faint, but definitely not what most people are describing.
I ablsolutely love Feminite du Bois, but I’m pretty sure I cannot smell everything in the drydown. Same with Bois de Violette, unfortunately.
I’m wearing Rodin Bis. I have no idea what to wear for tomorrow either.
SOTD is Samsara. I’m working on an article about coconut and remembered that the guide notes a “praline-and-coconut” accord in Samsara, but I’ve never noticed it and am not smelling it today either.
I never noticed coconut in Samsara either but I have noted it in the original Escada.
Escada was a white floral, yes? I usually get at least some coconut in tuberose perfumes.
yes, on a bed of vanilla and sandalwood, Not even sure if it is still around but if it is I am certain it would have been reformulated.
Coconut? Really? I’ve never noticed such a thing in Samsara. I only have the edt though so maybe it’s stronger in the edp.
I can maybe sort of see some coconut in the far drydown if I squint.
Continuing on with working through my older, or unworn fragrances, today I’m wearing Yves Rocher Moment de Bonheur. This is a cheap thrill for me. I know the brand doesn’t get much love, but for those of us who cannot spend the money on the pricier brands, you can get some very pretty scents for very reasonable prices.
I agree with you wholeheartedly! Nothing like finding a “cheap thrill” and saving money!
Wish Yves Rocher had better distribution in the US.
Not available in stores, and although product distribution is slightly different in Europe, in the U.S. pretty much all is available online and via print mailings. Low priced offers and many! free gifts and samples make it easy to try this line.
Don’t tempt me!
Moment de Bonheur is one of my cheap thrills too! I never ‘met’ a perfumista mentioning liking it so I am thrilled to read you wear it today. I don’t get along with rose in perfume often, but this one I really like very much. Also like the showergel and bodycream. According to V. from BdJ Yves Rocher spends a lot of money on their perfumes, ashame that it is so badly available in the US, in Europe it is everywhere.
I also wholeheartedly agree! They may be cheap thrills but many scents are outstanding. I have a mini of the Bonheur and enjoy it, although the Rose Absolute is my very favorite. Also Neonatura Cocoon for its dry cocoa/vanilla/patchouli is another love. The d/c Nature Millenaire smells remarkably similar to the much-praised Tauer Lair du Desert Marocain but was released and d/c before Tauer’s; luckily I have a backup bottle. The current Eau des Vahines edt is a close relative of the highly-sought after (and much more expensive) Guerlain Terracotta. I have a sample of the Terracotta and while it’s lovely, for the money the Eau des Vahines works for me when I need my summer tiare fix; the difference between the two is barely discernible. Unfortunately, YR’s scents come and go, so if you like something, it’s wise to stock up. Easily done, with the frequent offers and free gifts available.
I also really like last year’s Collection Ete, I think I received a whole bottle for free, the nose is Francis Kurkdjian no less!
I also like their tiare’s. Alas Rose Absolute is d/c.
Yves Rocher is easy to get here in Canada and I have enjoyed many of the scents. The vanilla tiare is beautiful and dirt cheap! Always keep a bottle in the fridge for hot summer days.
Today I’m wearing Norell, which I recently unearthed from the back of the perfume cabinet. It’s definitely in the “why haven’t I worn this in so long!” category, a very rich, sultry classic chypre. It’s unseasonably hot here in the US Midwest but my husband has truck problems and needed my car so my morning plans got shot to pieces, may as well wear something unexpected and lavish.
Norell sounds like the remedy to the miseries of life.
I read that as “mini-series of life.” ☺️
LOL!
I adore Norell and stash as many bottles as I can get my hands on! Easily in my top ten of the most beautiful scents ever made. You smell great!
I used to have a bottle of the bath oil, it was sooo good 🙂
An old favorite
I’m in Tea for Two to match today’s teapot patterned jumper! I’ve no idea what to wear tomorrow, I haven’t bought anything for the bottle… Maybe rahät loukoum in the bell shaped bottle is prettiest… I have a pretty tiny collection!
Window installers have blocked the way to my scents, so I’m not sure about today. But tomorrow, when I’ll be playing with my grandson, I’m going to wear Idole from its very classy bottle.
You’re going to smell great! I tried Idole after buying Safran Troublant… if I’d tried Idole first, I wonder if I’d have bought that instead. Well, I have a couple of samples of Idole, so I will continue to ponder….. 🙂
I’m sampling Balenciaga B. this morning. Very green! It made me think of green Sour Patches! I should have saved it for tomorrow, though, because I really love the bottle of this one (kind of wish I loved the scent more to justify a purchase of the gorgeous bottle…)
SOTD =Scent of Hope. Peaches and iris, pretty pretty pretty!
I seem to be back on a Chanel kick lately. Today I’m enjoying No. 18 which took a few tries to warm to but am loving it these days.
I was shocked and a bit mortified when someone yesterday thought my Bois des Iles “smelled like pee”. Just goes to show, everyone’s nose is different, but that one was a new perception…yikes!
Pee? Yikes.
SOTD=Hiris. Lots of iris, wonderful.
And the bottle is that lovely purple blue frosted glass! Classy scent and bottle 🙂
Second that!
Sadly I have the new bottle…nice and hefty but no blue frosted glass…the scent is classy nevertheless, and I don’t think it has been reformulated.
Wearing one of my favs today: AdP Iris Nobile EDT, a great spring fragrance.
I have the Iris Nobile edp, which smells just like some heirloom bearded iris I have. I’ve often wondered if the edt is something I should get too. Have you ever smelled the edp? Any comments how they are different?
I haven’t tried the EDP for quite sometime, but my memory is that it was richer and deeper and I preferred the lighter spring-like quality of the EDT. (Which is now, sadly, discontinued.)
THey have that re-bottled version and I wonder if it’s been changed.
You smell beautiful. 🙂
For Throwback Thursday, and another day spent working in the garden, I’m keeping the simple theme going with Yardley Lily of the Valley – it dates back to 1920! Like yesterday’s English Lavender, the LOTV is simple and pure, starting clean and sharp but softening to a delicate rendition of the flower. A favorite of mine from ‘back in the day,’ sometimes old friends are the best friends. Another cheap thrill I make no apologies for!
Enjoy your time in the Garden.
You smell fabulous! I haven’t smelled anything from Yardley in a long time..but I know everything they make smelled good to me
Surfing The Sample Sea, 28 La Pausa first test. Peppery zing, then a wee bit floral, then iris, then mostly gone in 3 hours. A smidge of vaguely carroty iris remains. So the question still unanswered is whether to spritz again, but this time with abandon or … next!
I’m wearing this too. I have on at least 6 sprays from a bottle, and I’m at work. Usually I only use 2-3 spritzes for other fragrances, so you have to lay it on with this one.
Meant to reply to Holly.
Thanks, SunnyDay! I’d read that this response is common, so I was anticipating it. I’m also a light spritzer, and my skin amplifies everything. I think I’ll hold onto this one, even though I have a daunting number of samples. Sometimes The Sample Sea is gentle and things emerge and then disappear. At other times it seems like a gyre, replete with vials and boxes and plastic bags.
It will be warm in Chicagoland so I’m pleased to be wearing Jardin du Poete and a big pleated skirt in a green foliar print – and green shoes!
Thank goodness big summer skirts are back – I tried to buy one last summer and could only see mini-skirts. Leafy green sounds nice too…
They’re pretty easy to make, AnnieA – then you can have exactly what you want…
I’m taking a personal day to catch up around the house and yard today. So I’m eating way too much chocolate, and puttering around inside and outside. Ah, the sun! My daffs have finally bloomed! My clematis lived through the winter! I only lost 2 roses.
I put on some of the older/vintage Estee “Super” I recently got from the swap meet -cheers to Ringthing! – I definitely smell it as the spring/summer version of Aromatics Elixir – and no surprise that Bernard Chant is the nose for both of these, as they are so similar. But then I needed to brighten things up more, so I doused myself in Guerlain Vetiver, which I can already sense is going to be my go-to fragrance this summer. I smell like walking nature!
you smell wonderful!
I’m so glad you are enjoying the Estee! It needed a good home 🙂 Your personal day sounds like the best!
I’m going to step away from the computer tomorrow morning in order to head into DC to see the flyover of dozens of World War II aircraft for the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. I’m not an aviation or WWII buff, but I sometimes read novels set in WWII and it sounds like a unique event.
I have a few beautiful bottles. I used to spend quite a lot of time prowling ebay in search of vintage perfume. Occasionally, I would spot a classic bottle that was well-priced due to small chips, wear to the gilding, or simply inattention. Jean Patou Colony in the weird, gilded Baccarat pineapple bottle and straw-covered box is one of those finds. I wouldn’t normally wear a heavy old extrait in this weather, but perhaps the unseasonal heat and humidity will suit Colony.
That should be nice! You’ll have to let us know how it is. I wanted to see the flyover, but the timing doesn’t quite work out. I think my SO might work from home so he can see it, though.
SOTD = Chanel No. 19 EDP
Simply gorgeous, office-appropriate and perfect for the spring weather we are having!
You smell wonderful!
Beautiful.
I bought a bottle a couple of months ago, but managed to leave it behind in a Zara store, about 15 minutes after purchase… I realized it almost immediately, but the little Chanel bag was gone already. So I’m gathering courage for a re-try.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that!
Thank you! Didn’t really mean to complain (it was all my own stupidity), just to explain why I still don’t own a bottle of this essential fragrance 🙂
Spritzed on the cheery Zeste de Soleil, but it is almost gone. What is in my rollerball collection at work? Vintage Dioressimo it is…
Chilly and gray day here in San Diego – hoping we get some rain! So I dug into my vanilla samples and came up with Mona di Orio Vanille. I think my sample might be off – I’m getting some gasoline in there and I don’t see that noted in any of the reviews. I wanted to wear Un Bois Vanille, but couldn’t find the sample.
Not sure what I’ll wear for tomorrow. I specifically bought the Constellation edition of Eau de Merveilles because it was so cool, but I like the scent also.
Me too! I love that blue Pegasus bottle and found a used tester on the Bay for cheap! Just a gorgeous bottle and it doesn’t hurt that I actually enjoy the perfume too 😉
Definitely smoky and dark. Maybe that could read as gasoline.
Hello everyone! Well it might snow here today after we have had summer like heat for the past few days, heat on this morning air con yesterday lol. We sold our house first day it listed and while getting together some boxes in my basement I found a vintage Wind Song bottle full. For the life of me I do not now where this came from. Has that ever happened to any of you? No one I know wore Wind Song and I didn’t buy it. Maybe it was the women who owned the house before us? Anyways it is my SOTD and is very pretty.
I think it’s fabulous when one discovers an unexpected find like that!Enjoy!
Thankyou! Maybe there is some vintage Dior hiding somewhere lol
congrats on both the sale & scent discovery! A guy down the street has had his house on the market for close to 2 yrs now.
Thankyou! Poor guy hope it sells soon. Selling a home is more stressful than buying one. I am having nightmares about moving all my scents.
Many of my perfumes were gotten off ebay so I don’t have boxes for them so I’m going to have to wrap all of them in newspaper to pack.
Anytime I buy something in small boxes I saved them just for that.Had to listen to my husband complain about a closet full of empty boxes for years lol. Good luck with your pack and hope the fumes stay safe. You too!
I wore Wind Song in my early teens, and I’m happy to hear you are enjoying it today.
Thanks. It is a nice floral. Just saw the tv ad on youtube. The earworm is going to stay on my mind lol
Late-late summer day in the city!I think the morning that winter arrives is going to be a shocker!Lol!It was TEST-day today!Yay!Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa Ambra-go check Kevin’s spot-on review!Really liked it and got away with the cutest 5ml mini EVER!Also spritzed on another new Acqua di Parma-the shop owner didn’t want to reveal the name to me!lol-but it was in a black/darkblue bottle, yet to be released,VERY masculine scent!Oliver Peoples from Byredo arrived-it was LOVE at first sniff! It’s very summery and I think I will break it out in October!Marni Rose Spice is a “nice” perfume, maybe too nice and I expected more amped-up spice!!Lol.I also spent some time with Santa Maria Novella Musc D’Oro.It’s got that SMN medicinal vibe, but the musk is really gleaming and gold!Yummy! All in all a great testing-day(I hear the SMN Melograno Body Oil scream my name…..)
That is a LOT of sniffing 🙂 Congrats on your gorgeous little mini!
There is a Melograno body oil?! I love Melograno, so I should try the Musc, too. What a great day and thanks for your reporting, Johanob!
Yes,there is a Melograno body oil!Cutest old-world packaging as well!I was surprised myself.I love the SMN brand. And always a pleasure to report back!lol!
I am wearing Ostara today. It’s lovely, truly smells like daffodils, but like all the Duchaufours I’ve tried, it doesn’t last on me. The bigger question for me is, do I want to smell like a daffodil? Somehow they don’t feel like “me.”
Some scents read to me as “lovely, well made, but it’s nicer than I am”. LOL
I feel like this quite often! 🙂
They’re all nicer than I am!
And I’m aspiring towards some galbunum-like malice!
SOTD is La Via del Profumo Mecca Balsam. It’s getting better with time, but is a bit crayon-y at the moment.
Yesterday I tried Milano Caffe, which was way more chocolate than coffee on me. I don’t drink coffee — don’t like the taste — but I love the smell, so was hoping for coffee here. Can anyone recommend coffee scents I should try?
CSP Vanille Mokha (discontinued, but bottles pop up on ebay). I’ve also heard Ava Luxe Cafe Noir is nice, but haven’t tried it myself.
Perfumes by Terri has one called Oui Plus! It’s very coffee-ish on me, in the best way. I got a sample of it and really like it- enough that I am thinking about a 15ml bottle. It only last a few hours on me, although lasting power may improve with spritzing rather than dabbing. It’s also quite cheap, as far as fragrances are concerned, so I may just spray with abandon and enjoy it while it lasts 🙂
Intoxicated from Kilian– cardamom and coffee on me
L’or de Torrente – rose and coffee – is my favorite. I’ve read – but never tried – that Trussardi Inside is similar, as the L’Or appears to be d/c and hard to find. Cacherel Noa and Noa Fleur have coffee notes. I have Noa Fleur, it’s a bit similar to the L’or but very light and not near the quality. But I’m not sure if any of these can yet be found!
Maybe there’s a coffee anosmia? Noa for me was just plastic white musk. I hear great things about L’Or de Torrente; it would be so fun to try. I’ve tried Ava Luxe Cafe Noir, and I think it is a solid coffee scent. It dried down too vanilla/sweet for me, but my threshold is low for vanilla/sweet.
I think Yoshi Yamamoto Homme was reissued, wasn’t it? That’s worth trying.
The super green thing from Domitille Bertier, from the IFF Speed Smelling set. How you’d feel about this depends on how you reacted to Tauer’s Verdant. Not a dupe, but in the same spirit. I’m not bored.
It’s been fun playing with these this week–the mimosa one from Hérault is really stunning and yesterday the peach and tobacco one from Hachem-Ruiz was also amazing. Wish those two were in full commercial production! If you get a chance to smell these, *do*, they are fun. Be well.
I agree, these were a lot of fun to play with. The Hérault was probably my favorite, and I also liked the one by Alexis Dadier, but they’re all interesting!
I’m wearing Rossy de Palma today. It’s been a while since I’ve worn this one. I think that’s a benefit of laying off buying new samples and such: actually wearing what I have.
Gorgeous day today so I wore Sisley Eau de Campagne. It’s nice, but SOOOOOOOOO fleeting. Long since gone. However, I still have the sample of Eau d’Orange Verte, so I’ll top up with a spray of that before heading home.
SOTD Hiram Green’s Shangri la.
BBR for women today. Spent some time with my cousin today, and photographed her guy’s basement workshop before it gets dismantled and family comes to claim the items they wish to keep. Everything was just where he left it, even a pair of gloves that still held the shapes of his hands.
That is a lovely thing you have done, Sajini. I am trying to do the same thing for my parents who both passed away within 6 weeks of each other in late 2014.
Oh so sorry for your loss. Taking pictures or whatever you do to honor their legacy can be very comforting.
In Jour d’Hermes today. I didn’t buy this one *just* for the bottle, but the bottle is pretty great. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a fragrance for the bottle alone and am tempted to say I never would … but I know myself better than that. Someday the right bottle will come along, and poof! there will go all my willpower.
My SOTD is Bvlgari Voile de Jasmin. I went with some friends to see “The Age of Adaline”, and I wanted to wear something really mild in the theatre.
Wearing Slumberhouse Pear & Olive. I found it to be very nice on the rainy day we’re having where I am.
I felt the need for something special, today, so I’m wearing Bois de Paradis. I wear this regularly, but not often. I like to have some time in between wearings, because I enjoy the slightly surprised recognition that gives me.
