Fill your (fantasy) Easter basket:
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?
3. Your favorite candy?
4. And any random present you'd like the Easter bunny to bring you.
Note: image is the Bunny & Egg from Francois Payard, $25.
I’m sure I will have an Easter basket when we get to my in-laws (yes, we are all adults but my MIL just goes overboard with absolutely everything) and I’m equally sure it will be filled with candy that nobody likes and a couple of Reese’s peanut butter eggs that everyone will fight over. I would love to have this fantasy basket instead.
Mine would contain a huge bottle of vintage Vol de Nuit, a Esteban Paris Cedre candle, See’s peanut brittle bars, and a Paula’s Choice gift certificate as I need to stock up on sunscreen and other necessities and her prices are getting a bit much.
I could also wish that my in-laws would make the Easter ham without glaze and pineapple. I find the sweet coating (and they add not just the packet but make about a cup extra) really weird. We’re having a smoked turkey tonight so maybe there will be leftovers.
Happy Easter (or whatever you might celebrate) to all!
I don’t care much for sweet glaze on ham either.
When I was in my teens, my grandmother would come to visit, and my mother would make me drive her to the store and would tell me ‘Don’t let her buy canned ham and gingerale!’ — which was like trying to stop a force of nature. She was going to buy canned ham and gingerale. Not sure if that is better or worse than pineapple.
Grandmothers are like that.
As well they should be!
Gingerale?! Ack!
My mother always did cloves and honey. I thought it was tasty–but I was a kid, so I pretty much liked anything with sugar! I don’t eat red meat anymore, so I can’t say what I’d think of it these days, but I’m guessing that it would be less appealing, other than for nostalgia’s sake. (Like that green jello “salad” with mini marshmallows my mother still makes. . . )
I like my ham plain cooked with applesauce on the side. Totally Pennsylvania dutch!
Lots of apples in Pennsylvania Dutch cooking, isn’t there?
How else would you eat sauerkraut?
Apples and sauerkraut?! Can I pass? 😛
That might help me actually enjoy sauerkraut.
So very true! I also like to add some caraway seeds in the mix.
Sauerkraut with apples and caraway seeds? How is that done? Cooked together or cold salad? Sorry to be veering off topic-but it might smell interesting…
In case you come back to look this up, you drain and rinse some nice quality sauerkraut from a can or jar. Then you slice up some sweet onions and some apples (any kind will really do and you don’t need to peel them either), and add the seasoning. Then you slow cook it with pork, kielbasa or sausages or bacon, or all of them at the same time), and then serve with real mashed potatoes. After it all cooks for many hours, the apples usually deteriorate and you don’t even know they are in there when you serve it.
1) Perfume would be Guerlain Metallica
2)Other scented product would be one of the Malle body butters but I haven’t decided which scent yet–I have a few samples to try.
3)Favorite candy–Ritter Sport Chocolate Marzipan
4)Random present-a winning lottery ticket (prize over $100,000)
And staying on theme, my SOTD is Nobile 1942 Le Petit Chocolatier II
I really like Ritter Sport, especially the dark chocolate hazelnut.
My favourite RS!
I like the dark chocolate mint Ritter Sport.
That’s my favorite, too!
I love Ritter Sports (though not so much the marzipan – would save the marzipan ones for you.)
That’s very kind of you
Happy Easter and Passover to all! I am working the weekend so there is very little celebration going on for me. This is my little baby first Easter – Though next year it will be even better when she is eating 🙂
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?
Sunshine Amouage
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?
I love lemon soap
3. Your favorite candy?
I actually love anything gummy and dark dark chocolate
4. And any random present you’d like the Easter bunny to bring you.
A massage , manicure pedicure and all the house chores done
Happy first Easter for the little one!
Same! And you better wait until next year to decide if it’s better, LOL…
Ha! You are right 😉
1. I’m gonna cheat and ask for a Malle Coffret to magically appear in my Easter Basket. There simply isn’t a single perfume that’s calling my name right now. (Ever since I got my prescioussssss bottle of Guet-Apens, that is!)
2. I haven’t explored other scented products much. Maybe an Amouage body cream? That sounds lovely. 🙂
3. Chocolate? Yes please! Ok, if I have to choose, I’d be happy with a pound of See’s MILK chocolates. Nothing fruity inside (except lemon), no need for lots of nuts. Creamy, truffle-like centers, please.
4. World peace. Or an all-expense-paid trip to Paris.
Thumbs up to the entirety of your first item!! (I mean also items 2-4.)
Ah, and you will be proud! I have almost drained another bottle this morning. I have perhaps 1 more day’s worth of SSS Nostalgie left. Now I need to decide if I buy a new bottle or keep it on the “things to recommend to Mr. Spicebomb” list for future gift-giving. He seems to like buying me perfume (poor me).
You are truly my inspiration!! Do you have a gift-giving occasion coming up soon? And does Our Lady sell SSS? (Maybe Laurie does all the distribution, I just don’t know.) My thought is that if the next gift opportunity isn’t for a while, and SSS is available locally, you could get a small one to tide you over… But if you’re going to pay for shipping, I feel like you might as well get the biggest one 🙂
Next opportunity might be our two year (TWO YEARS!!!!) anniversary of first meeting, which is July. But I might prefer a trip or a nice meal or some experience-based gift like that. Otherwise, the wait would be my birthday in November.
I’m not aware of any SSS available in stores. I would have to order it. And I’m with you, if I’m gonna order a bottle, might as well get the big one! 😀
OMG I can’t believe you’ve been seeing him two years!! Time FLIES. Dang. (But wonderful.)
And I agree, a getaway or some other shared experience might be more a fun way to mark the occasion. Guess you better just go ahead and buy the Nostalgie 😉 Actually this reminds me, does anyone know how often SSS has sales or other promotions? I thought I was on the mailing list, but evidently not until right now, so I’m not really in the know about it.
‘Course, the best gift would be an engagement ring! 😉
I haven’t been on her list for a while. Good thought to look for a deal. . .
Ahhh!!! Oh my gosh, well now that’s what I have to root for, obviously 🙂 Whee!!
(That really is the best. I find it so hope-inspiring, when people find relationships that work that well! Thanks so much for letting all of us have a little peek into that 🙂 )
Thanks for the good wishes! No hints, questions about my ring size or preferences, etc., as of yet, but I feel like the time MUST be close now! (I sure hope so, anyway!)
The Amouage body products I’ve tried have been really lovely. Parfum1 sometimes has them discounted… not that I’m enabling…
Oh no, of course not!
No such thing as cheating in wishes…
Well, I do try to be a good girl and follow the rules. . .
Hey why not world peace AND a trip to Paris?!
It’s only sensible!
1. I’d like a big bottle of Parfums de Nicolai Le Temps d’une Fete in the mid-2000s formula, and if that’s not available I’ll happily take a bottle of DelRae Wit.
2. Hmmm… Carnal Flower Beurre Exquise comes to mind, but I think I might rather have the Really Big version of a candle I reviewed last year for Rive Sud Interior called Via Della Basilica. They sent me a sample size, and I thought it was great, but no WAY can I buy the real thing, which is 1100 grams (large) for 250 €, not even with the current exchange rate.
3. Ritter Sport Dark Chocolate Hazelnut, or Ferrero Rocher.
4. A voucher for the Yale Writer’s Conference this summer – or a plane ticket to New Zealand. The CEO will be leading a Wintermester course for students on international agricultural trade there next January, so he’s going to NZ in July to arrange the stops for the trip ahead of time. He’s applied for a grant to cover his expenses, but I want to go too.
There you go, Easter Bunny. You have options. 😉
Good luck — hope you’ll get one trip or the other!
(although don’t know why the Easter bunny won’t give you both)
It all sounds lovely – and go, pipfruit! (CEO will know)
NZ has an amazing variety of agricultural products, and consequently an amazing variety of agricultural trade! It’s gorgeous, too. I would love to go back for another visit.
Thank you for your delightful fantasy trip questions, Robin!
Let’s start with the basket itself: Gosh, it’s not a basket at all, it’s a fuschia colored quilted leather Chanel bag!!
And inside, there is a big bottle of Amouage Sunshine, special edition, encrusted with citrine crystals. This is a magical bottle that never becomes empty.
poking out the top, there is a box of shoyeido incense in Shun-Yo (beckoning spring)
Way down in the bottom, there is a bar of Taza 70% dark stone ground chocolate.
Special gift from the Easter Bunny, every one of us on nst receive the perfume we most desire
And Sajini wins the Easter poll! Nicely done. 🙂
I want to live in your mind. 🙂
Lovely, well done! I was with you right from the reimagining of the basket.
1. Vintage Diorissimo. What else? 🙂
2. Hmmm good question. Maybe one of the Lush massage bars? Or, since the Easter Bunny is clearly all-powerful, the “Bouton de Rose” hand cream L’Occitane did as a limited edition a million years ago? I’d also be happy to restock on Rose 31 body/shower things! That might be nice, a little collection of those–thanks Easter Bunny!
3. I would like the Easter bunny to find me a chocolate bar that’s fair-trade/slavery-free and either salted or orange-infused. (Also welcoming recommendations from non-mythical creatures, if anyone has one!)
4. Just looking at flight prices to attend some French friends’ wedding this summer, and oof is it gonna be brutal. If the Easter bunny wanted to drop some miles into my frequent flyer account, I would be pretty thrilled!
I am far from greedy — EB can drop off half a bottle to each of us…
Since this is a fantasy basket, I assume I can ask for something discontinued? In that case, I would like:
1. A bottle of Guerlain Djedi. I have had just a tiny sample of the vintage extrait, and it is wonderful.
2. A large bottle of Lush Tramp shower gel, now tragically–and suddenly–discontinued. Had I known they were going to discontinue it, I would have ordered several large bottles.
3. Any high-quality dark chocolate, as long as it is not too weird (no chili pepper or anything like that).
4. An all-expense paid two-week trip for two to Hawaii. I would like to visit Oahu, the big island, and one other. This big island is where they grow Kona coffee and chocolate, so that one is a must!
And Volcanoes Natl Park is on the Big Island, as well. Highly recommend.
I will go as big as MR! #4: an increase in common sense around the world (or fine, a yellow diamond will do); #3: a selection of Mink chocolate bars instead of one per semester in reality; #2: word is Amouage has some pretty nice candles; and #1: a bottle of the old Dioressimo.
Ha totally, 50ml for each of us will be plenty 😉 Hahahaha.
Oh, I second the common sense wish!
So hard to choose between common sense and beautiful things. . . I applaud your values! 😉
Getting a jump start on Fri and treating myself to a BWF week (today it’s Lys 41).
1. Carnal Flower circa 2005.
2. One of those Malle home spray things–they make a gardenia scent, if I’m not mistaken.
3. Dark chocolate truffles (Leonidas will suffice!)
Lys 41 is really nice. Maybe I’ll haul out the rest of my sample and wear it today… assuming I can find it…
Hauled out my little vial, def need to make a dent in Mt Sample
Ha, I like this term, though my samples tend to gather in vats rather than form mountains!
Off topic… I’m so thrilled, I finally ‘got’ Bois des Iles this week. I kept trying it, both the LE version and the parfum, but I just wasn’t getting the lovely sandalwood-ness everyone swoons over. Aldehydes, sure; whiffs of sandalwood, yes; but no swoon.
The secret is: Use More Of It.
Yesterday, I double-dosed myself and.. oh. oh! My car smells lovely inside. My jacket smells fantastic. And I was thinking that BdI was a skin scent too quickly, but then I realized I was getting little BdI clouds whenever I moved. Fabulous.
So I come home from work and I’m babbling excitedly to my DH, on and on about my amazing epiphany, and he says….
“Huh? Chanel Box of Eels?”
Mr. Suave, that guy.
BOX OF EELS?? That’s hilarious.
Oh, you are my hero right now and you smell the bestest!! Bois de Iles clouds-I know EXACTLY what you mean!! Your hubby is a comedian incognito 😉
So, are you going for a FB of the extrait or edt?
Yeah he’s a funny guy 😆
Extrait. Already ordered. heh
Yay! I love Bois des Iles, especially when it will BLOOM. Try it on a warm day, or when you’ll be out walking around a lot so that your body temperature will rise up a bit. It is an amazing thing! I haven’t tried the extrait, but I’m very happy with my bottle of edt.
Box of Eels, love it! And such good-smelling ones too. and good to know about ‘more is more’ in this case.
Oh, I am going to start calling it that too. Perfect.
Hello dears, wishing everyone a great Easter time, I hope it’s now warm and sunny where you live.
For my imaginary Easter basket I would pick Stephane Humbert Lucas 777 Khol de Bahrein or April Aromatics Calling All Angels. Another scented product would be either Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme shower gel or an origami horse from Hermes home scent line (didn’t smell those but love that origami!)
Sweets? Can I go with peach cheesecake?
And bunny just brought me a perfect Easter present, a tin of teas from Harney & Sons 🙂
Nice!
One of these days I’m gonna buy that horse. Or four (I think there are four in the box?).
My fantasy Easter basket would have –
1. A big bottle of vintage Caron Tabac Blond.
2. Hmmmm … how about an Ormond Jayne Champaca candle.
3. I’m a sucker for any good milk chocolate covered caramel. Egg-shaped for bonus points. 🙂
4. Well, Sajini and Marjorie Rose have already answered this better than I could, but I’m testing Caron’s En Avion this morning and it’s awfully nice – maybe a bottle of that in extrait?
Oh yeah is there a Champaca bath oil? I would like that!
There is! Sounds lovely to me too. 🙂
1. A bottle of Nuit au Desert, by Gobin-Daude. I fell madly in love with a three-drop sample years back, and thoughts of it still haunt me. I occasionally open up the sample vial to get an ephemeral waft of the molecules still left.
2. I’m not into scented body products other than perfume, so I’ll have to go with a candle. I’d like a magical, never-ending-gobstopper made by Cire Trudon, that changes weekly, moving through their entire line of scents.
3. Home made salted caramels. The kind with the sprinkling of salt on top, not mixed in with the caramel. And chewy. The caramel must be chewy.
4. I’d like my to-do lists – both work and home – to be cleared. I’m in a place (and it’s my sense that SO MANY people are with me on this) where it seems like I acquire two new tasks a day, only partially complete one, spend a significant amount of time in unproductive meetings, and find myself at the end of the day knowing that I’ve been hard at it all day, but not being able to cross a single thing off my list. I’d love to be listing something grand here – ending the need for animal shelters, stopping the phenomenal wave of violence moving through our societies, providing access to free education worldwide – but having some personal breathing room was the first thing that came to mind when I read this item. 🙂
I once had a friend brought me saltwater taffy from the US.It was probably the BEST candy I’ve ever had!!lol
Oh how funny! I come from a small town on the west coast where saltwater taffy is part of the culture–and a big tourist must-do! I’ve always taken it for granted, I fear, as ever-present. But I suppose it *is* a bit of a regional specialty.
I’ve never even heard about it till she gave it to me!It was beautifully packaged, fresh and was obviously not store-bought!LOVELOVE!
Yay, how fun! I do think it’s pretty much only made by small, local businesses and devoted individuals. Anything similar in your neck of the woods? I remember talk of a rather amazing-sounding pastry a week or so back. . .
Lol!Oh yeah!Wow you remembered my pastry!Lol!It is indeed time to get some again!I’m not sure we have something similar to that saltwater taffy, there is however a local rose nursery that makes the most awesome rosewater-infused Turkish delight.Ridiculously good.
It’s a beachy East Coast thing as well.
But I’ve never enjoyed it much. 🙁
Mals, my taste in taffy is similar to my taste in chocolate truffles–I like chocolate, lemon, mint, cinnamon, mocha, etc. Nothing too frooty!
I am quite with you on all of this and strongly hope you find some breathing time in an actual basket tomorrow.
Thanks, and right back at you, unseencenser – I’m sending thoughts of calm and balance your way!
1) Onda, Onda, Onda!
2) a scented body oil…not sure which scent I would choose at this point.
3) Homemade Turtles
4) I would be happy with a FB of Bois de Iles, Mr Bunny 😉
1) It’ll have to be an Amouage. A tie between Ubar and Beloved, but I would gladly take both, thank you very much indeed.
2) A Malle body butter probably Carnal Flower
3) dubbelzoute drop
4) An unlimited gift card for Mariage Frères so I can get lots of new teas.
LOVE your answers. (Ubar for me, please.) The Easter bunny sometimes brings d-zoutes / dropjes around here, heaven knows why. I’m the only one in the family that’s immune, but I must admit, over the years I have developed this need to re-try them, a few each bag, as if I need to confirm for the three hundredth time that they taste like battery acid. I worry that I am indeed starting to acquire the taste.
1) Like Sajini, I want a magical, never depleted bottle of Box of Eels in extrait. (Waving at Mr. Pixel, I’ll never say the name again without smiling.)
2. I don’t wear scented body products or use candles, so could I have another scent? How about Bois de Armenie, that’s sort of in the category.
3. I’d like See’s nut assortment in both milk and dark, with a side of their California toffee thingies.
4. I want the Quark expeditions polar circumnavigation cruise. It’s only 30K, surely the Easter Bunny can swing that!
Polar circumnavigation?! I’m guessing that’s around Antactica? In the summer? Maybe with a steam room or jacuzzi on board? Or a tanning bed? 😀
Happy Easter to all who celebrate!
1.a fresh-from-the-fountain bottle of Iris Gris, thank you very much!Although a lifetimes’ supply of DSH The Scent of Hope would be great as well!
2.I would love to have Amouage Sunshine in a body lotion or showergel!
3.a Slice of a certain Grenadilla-flan I had-last time I think 20 years ago??-lol.The recipe is lost, and no-one has been able to replicate that exact texture and taste…
4.a Backup bottle of Amouage Sunshine please!!!Lol.
1. A bottle of Rozy OR a bottle of Rose Oud. I’ve decided I love both equally.
2. The Jaisalmer candle.
3. Twizzlers. I’m on a diet and I’ve been really missing them.
4. A vacation to Iceland to see the Northern Lights, with some sort of guarantee that I would actually get to see them!
Oh that Jaisalmer candle is pretty fantastic, yes!!
I like chocolate Twizzlers 😉
Hello lovelies…
Beautiful, but insanely windy, NYC day.
I do love Easter, it especially reminds me of my grandmother because we’d spend Easter at her home and she made it so special. Great scent memories too!
What a fun poll, and I do love that chocolate bunny(s) by Payard. He is truly and artist with chocolate.
I’d like my basket to looking like this..
1. A bottle of Hermes Cuir d’ange – and I’ll take the 6.5 honkin’ ozs of this..
2. Large bottle of Rose Jam shower gel
3. I’m a candy lover so I will add to this (turning out to be a very heavy basket) jelly beans, Cadbury eggs, peeps, white chocolate and milk chocolate bunnies.. Payard would suffice, and maybe some coconut cream eggs we had as kids by Russell Stover.
4. A nice sized decant of a new favorite love: Serge Lutens Fourreau noir
That’s all.
🙂
Yes to nr 2,especially!!
Easter reminds me of my gram too!
Ah! My basket…
1. Shiseido Feminite du Bois edp, 100ml.
2. A large bottle of REN Morrocan Rose body cream
3. Daim chocolate bars. At least five of them.
4. An all expenses paid Euro road trip…
1. A complete collection of Iris Gris…perfume, lotion and powder, whatever they made…
2. A gallon of best quality ever Mysore sandalwood, and a never empty vat of best quality organic Shea butter, so I could keep my chronically dry skin moisturized with my special homemade lotion.
3. A nice collection of candied ginger, candied orange and lemon rind, and creamy dark chocolate truffles flavored with some rare Spanish sherry…
4. A world where we can all have our own opinions and disagree about ideas and still get along…
and following someone else’s lead, I’d like this to be delivered in, instead of just any old basket, one of those Ralph Lauren hand-tooled leather handbags with the etched gold hardware he made a few years ago during his last cowboy phase. I think there were about seven of them, and I know one of them had my name on it!
Ooh, candied ginger, candied orange and lemon rind… I forgot about those. Great choice!
Great baskets, everyone! Fun game, Robin 🙂
1. Large size Atelier Cologne Vanille Incensee.
2. Diptyque candle, something with a fresh spring vibe.
3. Cadbury Mini Eggs. Lots. Milk chocolate only, please and thank you.
4. I am going to go big here: a clothes washer and dryer set.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
1, 2, & 4: Having Little Ones (grandtwins, age 7) to surprise with Easter baskets and share the day brings me greater joy than any Easter basket could, except one filled with world peace. (My mom was gone long before she ever knew she’d have a grandchild, so I want for nothing.) The Little Ones spent the day with me yesterday decorating – Did (6’4″) Daddy REALLY fit in that small sailor suit that one of our larger bears now wears? Yes, Daddy wore that once on a long-ago Easter – and coloring Easter eggs. Little Girl announces her first egg will be pink and is for Grandma, as she carefully writes on her egg, I love Grandma (Aw, she’s such a sweetheart). Little boy says nothing as he writes on his egg and dunks it in the blue dye, which reveals the words, Boys Rule! (Yes, I love him anyway.). 🙂
3: Normally a dark chocolate lover, my favorite Easter candy, always and forevermore, is a Fannie Mae vanilla buttercream egg with the pastel yellow shell.
A cold North wind punctuates a sunny and bright day here, chives are up, as are the tulip and hyacinth leaves, daffodils are on the verge of blooming, and crocus is in full bloom. In perfect harmony is Balmain Vent Vert, my SOTD. Wishing everyone a Blessed Passover and Happy Easter!
It sounds like you have a nice Easter planned! I took my childhood Easter basket decorations out for the first time in many years. My 7 yo daughter kept asking me if an old peeping chick egg toy was really mine. It’s very sweet when new and old collide in holiday memories.
Sounds heavenly… and your grandbabies rock.
My youngest kid (who’s 14 now) uses the Easter basket that used to belong to me – and it belonged to my mom first. All of us love that.
Happy Easter, Passover, Spring whatever holiday you celebrate to everyone!
1. Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin!
2. Either 10 lbs of organic goat’s milk soap base (so I can make my own smelly soaps), or about 10 bars of pre-reformulation Chanel No 5 bath soaps.
3. Belgian chocolate truffles from Leonidas and black jelly beans.
4. A nice new sun hat to wear to the lake/pool/beach.
Ah! SL LFDB is such a nice scent
It’s the queen of my to buy list.
Right there with you on nos 2-4, though I’ll go with the Chanel, since I’m way too lazy to make my own soaps. Really need the sun hat, as I’m still trying to fade the freckles acquired last year, grr.
I haven’t made my own soaps for a few years, but I’m ready to do it again. I wish Chanel hadn’t tinkered with their bath soaps. Grrr! I get sun freckles too.
Black jelly beans! I’m glad someone likes them. 🙂 You can have all of mine!
What did Chanel no 5 soap used to be like Ann? I like them, although they do spilt and separate a bithe, which disappoints me. Maybe it depends on the water.
General PSA, just noticed FragranceNet has the 100ml Dzing bottle for only $74 (and free shipping, since it’s over $59.) It’s gonna take me a lifetime to finish the 100mls I already have, but maybe someone else needs to buy themselves an Easter/Passover/late Nowruz/early May Day present??
And a general inquiry I’m hoping fans of Bliss body butters can advise me on: I picked up a travel size Lemon + Sage at TJMaxx a couple weeks ago, and was really surprised by the texture–pretty runny, to the extent I’m surprised it’s called a “body butter”. Def seemed more in the “lotion” category, and not a very thick one–but did I just get an off or maybe expired batch? (No matter, it was only $3, I’m just curious whether they’re always like that or if it’s worth trying another.)
I have some of this, and it is creamy and thick. My guess would be bad batch or maybe exposed to heat or something that would break it down?
Oh smart about heat. And it was at quite high altitude as well, so yes maybe it had broken down. Ok good to know, thank you!
Yes, second that – I use the Naked one a lot, always looking for good unscented moisturizers, and it is quite thick and butter-like.
The bliss body butter tends to be lighter and less thick than other body butters I’ve tried. Definitely less thick than the ones that come in a tub, like the body shop. However, it shouldn’t be runny!
1. I’d love a backup bottle of Chanel No. 5 EDP. I’m running a little low.
2. Jo Malone Orange Blossom Bath Oil
3. Lindt Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt
4. A Chanel scarf
#3 really is a good one.
1. Probably a big bottle of vintage Diorissimo, so that I could spray with abandon (rather than using my mini only dabbing a few drops at a time)
2. A nice smelling, luxuriously packaged bath oil. Either from Aromatherapy and Associates or Jo Malone (the red roses one is calling my name)
3. Jelly beans!
4. Because it was too hard to chose for #1, i’d quite like the amount of $ to clear my wish list, thank you very much!
Happy Easter weekend! I would choose 1) Ys Uzac Immortal Beloved (I tried Malle’s POAL this weekend and it reminded me of that, but IB doesn’t have such a heavy patchouli base?) and 3) Any dark chocolate, but I especially love the Ghiradelli Sea Salt and Almond…
In other news, I had a sample of what I’d assumed was L’Artisan for Aedes as I found no rhubarb note whatsoever… upon ordering a bottle of it I discovered to my dismay that my sample had been Aedes Signature. An expensive mistake!! Incidentally, if anyone wanted a bottle and missed the special that Aedes was having for a complimentary 10ml travel spray refill, I now have it and 10ml of Copal Azur.
:-/
I’m very interested in some Copal Azure! Email me at my username here in the land in gmail!
I think I would choose the new Malle Cologne Indelibile (a big bottle), all the Malle home candles, some charbonel et walker salted caramel truffles and tickets to Barcelona for the family, we spent a day there and would love to go back again! That would be a fantastic gift from the Easter bunny!!
Happy Saturday, all. Today, I’m in Indult Tihota, the bottle arrived earlier this week and I’ve decanted for the split. I have one more portion in case anyone is interested.
I have very fond memories of Easter at grandma’s. She used to host an Easter Egg Hunt for the grandkids. She had a total of 35 grandchildren and with a wide range of ages, there’s a rolling group of about 20 of us for each year’s event.
My fantasy Easter basket (a la Bottega Veneta weave) will have the
following:
1. a vat of vintage Bois des Iles EDT AND Parfum
2. a vat of Bois des Iles shower gel
3. dark chocolate, the darker the better and really, any of the dark chocolate from wherever allgirlmafia sources her stash
4. no more senseless killing
Did I miss a split post? I would be interested in a split of Tihota! I’m sending you an email.
Yay!
1. Any of the Guerlain Shalimar Ode a la Vanille flankers.
2. Chanel body cream in any of my favorite scents, maybe Allure?
3. Hot chocolate that my boyfriend makes me.
4. True love and happiness 🙂
I finally purchased the Bronze Goddess skinscent spray and am happily enjoying it! Happy Easter and Passover. 🙂
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?
I was at Saks today and saw that they have Nahema parfum, so it might have to be that.
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?
A lifetime supply of Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner from Lush. Or a Malle body butter, maybe Carnal Flower. I’ve never actually tried the Malle body butters, but I’m sure they’re fabulous.
3. Your favorite candy?
Fancy dark chocolates or salted caramels.
4. And any random present you’d like the Easter bunny to bring you.
A winning lottery ticket would be nice, or maybe some fancy tea.
1. I’d love Papillon’s Tobacco Rose this year, please.
2. Some soaps by Oriza Legrand
3. Dark chocolate stem ginger, which I can’t find here Or a pre – reformulation Cadbury’s Creme Egg.
4. A trip to Budapest.
Happy Easter Everyone!
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?
I would want a bottle of APOM by Maison Francis Kurkdjian . I have been wanting a bottle for ages and never got around to getting it.
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it? I would love to have one of those fabulous candles from Jo Malone. They had some really nice limited edition fragrances during he Christmas holidays.
3. Your favorite candy? Godiva’s Truffles – even though I am allergic to chocolate, they are worth it, and jelly beans
4. And any random present you’d like the Easter bunny to bring you.
I would love a few extra days off from work. The 3-day weekend just wasn’t enough for me
I would like a brown Bottega Sloane hobo bag filled with a bottle of Dior Fève Délicieuse, Godiva salted caramel nut brittle, a jar of Malle Musc Ravageur body butter and a week-long all-expenses paid trip to Paris!
1. I’m embarrassed to say I gave myself my Easter scent a week early. Bis by Linda Rodin. Love it beyond words! So much so that I have been purging some of my treasures on ebay. Feels fine.
2. The problem with going on ebay is finding something new you want. For me, an Imperial Oud candle from Belle Fleur. I had been stalking this, and was able to score one for less than half.
3. Christopher Elbow is my favorite choclatier. Easter-wise, I wish I could find robin’s eggs of the same quality as those from my childhood. Malteasers will do in a pinch.
4. I wish I could find a new job. One that could be delivered to my door in a basket would be heaven.
Happy holidays all!
1 FM Dans Tes Bras-went from ewww to love/obsessed recently
2)Cire Trudon candle in Trinon (church incense and marble)
3) I love those dulce de leche chunks you can buy in NYC bodegas and the caramelized coconut chunks from the nyc street nut carts(chunks seems to be the theme here).
4) about 10-20 grand towards a master’s degree.
Happy Sunday, everyone! SOTD is Baiser Volé extrait, which is pretty much what one might expect in a parfum version – not as sparkling, but with much more depth than the EdP.
My poll answers:
1. one perfume, new or old: what is it?
Vintage Tabac Blond in a mint, tasseled bottle and case.
2. one other scented product:
A lifetime supply of vintage Sardo bath oil
(I thought that “lifetime supply” idea was good enough to steal, lol!). Can’t tell you how much I love this stuff. I recently saw one at auction and bought it for old times’ sake. Still smells the same!
3. Your favorite candy?
Well, for candy it’s either Skittles or Junior Mints. For chocolate, it’s Ritter Sport Dark Chocolate and Hazelnuts or Theo Fig, Fennel and Almond.
4. And any random present you’d like the Easter bunny to bring you.
Yes – for stores to go back to selling petite clothing sizes and size 5 shoes in IRL instead of only online.
Hi,Ann! What is Sardo bath oil? That Rose Infernalle is growing on me, by the way-thanks again foe the generous sample!
1. Bell jar of Iris Silver Mist
2. Large flacon of Attar of Roses so I can make my own.
3. Massive box of Smarties – a very British chocolate bean thing.
4. A baby for my son and daughter-in-law – they’re having problems:(
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL PERFUMISTAS!
