What's your fragrance today? Is it new to you, or something you wear regularly, or has it been a long time, or ... ?
I'm wearing Comme des Garçons 2 Man. I can't remember the last time I wore it — it's probably been years.
Reminder: this Friday, 10/10, wear a fragrance you discovered via a blog or other online review, and link to the review if you can. Bonus points for not linking to a review on Now Smell This, since everyone commenting here already knows about Now Smell This — hopefully this will help all of us expand our perfume reading!
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2014, where I'll try to always have the next six or seven weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: you can find the Comme des Garçons Play striped tee at Dover Street Market.
I’m wearing Atelier Cologne Grand Neroli. I think of this one as a summer fragrance, but I hardly wore it all summer, and found myself craving it now. Who knows.
I like citrus pretty much year round 🙂
I’m wearing Cacharel LouLou. I dipped my hand into my bag of minis, and pulled it out. Lucky dip.
I love LouLou!
Me too! I stupidly gave away my old bottles of LouLou and Eden, and have had to buy replacements, but they aren’t quite the same..
I’m trying out a new scent for me, musc intense by Nicolai – it’s not working well at all (I’ll refrain from writing what it reminds me of)! Musc Nomade (Goutal) is much better, so I’ll wear that tomorrow as a palate cleanser.
Ha, thank you for not providing too much information!
I’m warped enough in my preferences that now I want to try it…:)
Hope it gets better for you!
I had the same thought.
I got a sample of SL Muscs Koublai Kahn for that reason – after reading how revolting some people thought it was I just had to try it 😉
Musks are funny though – I have no problem with the animalic musks, but some of the lighter “clean” musks I think are just awful.
just a teaser then, I love MKK, and musk intense belongs to the second group you mention 🙂
I wore Indult Tihota last night and could still smell it this morning, so in the interest of sticking with the musky vanilla theme, I topped it off with a little Cadjmere. It’s a sample I’ve had for a long time but haven’t used up. Has been on my decant or bottle list for a long time because it’s such a comfortable vanilla — the Tihota on the other hand is a little too sweet for me.
I liked Cadjmere too, I should find my sample.
Surprised now that Indult is resurrected that they haven’t launched something new…
Cadjmere… I remember when it was the big, new thing! How long ago has that been now?
Wearing Serge Lutens’s Cedre today. My friend went to Paris so of course I asked her for a small favor. Instead of going to the Palais Royale, though, she went to son other store, didn’t find what I was asking for, and picked me out one. She picked a lovely one but paying full retail for an export line fragrance? I would never tell her that and thanked her duly, of course.
I actually really enjoy Cedre, which I probably never put on skin with that cider top note, and sillage is excellent.
Can’t even count the number of times that’s happened to me…it’s hard to send non-perfumistas shopping! Sometimes I’ve ended up with a nice surprise, but sometimes, no.
I blind bought Bill Blass Nude based on the lovely Angela’s recommendation and am wearing some on one arm, but I’m realizing it’s not for me. But I’m hoping it will be good swapping material!
On the other arm I’m wearing my sample of Santal Carmin from the wonderfully generous Hajusuuri, and I’ve worn it quite a bit in the past month or so. Still loving it, and others seem to as well (I have a lot of great coworkers who will obligingly sniff my arm when I offer it and give their opinions).
Haju (not sure why I feel compelled to abbreviate affectionately – I just do) – so sorry about your Barney’s experience! I’m not clear on the details, but I hope the sample of L’incendiare makes it worthwhile…I am loving that stuff more every time I try it. Time to find a dupe, because I’m not paying $600 for it.
Whoops! That was supposed to be below!
Is Bill Blass Nude available in anything but cologne? I’ve found the cologne at the discounters but not an edt or edp.
I thank god she didn’t pick Datura Noir! 🙂
Ha…but you could have sent it to me!
Grr. Maybe a text to double-check before buying?
But kudos to you, Coumarin, for treating your friend nicely and not saying anything …
I was actually very thorough, with a map, directions from her hotel, and phone number. But she saw the exports in a different store and asked them.
I almost didn’t want to mention here because I didn’t want to come off as ungrateful! I appreciate it that she even took them time for it.
Sometimes Muggles don’t get it! Sorry about the disappointment and well done for acting appreciative 🙂
I’d be nice about it, but I’d still be pretty pi***d off considering that you HAD gone to all that effort and the directions were clear.. so close and yet so far! 🙁
I’m wearing Palimpsest from Mandy Aftel (which would count for tomorrow, now that I think of it). My sample arrived just before Angela reviewed it, and this is the third time I’ve worn it in about a week. It’s wonderful.
Palimpsest is so pretty! I love that I am not familiar with the firetree, so it’s a completely new smell to me.
SOTD is Timbuktu. It is chilly and sparkling, fresh but not too fresh. I don’t wear this everyday; I wouldn’t consider it something that I reach for without thinking. However, I like it all year, and each season it gives me something different to enjoy. I love it in summer, when the dry incense is brought out in the heat, and I also love it in the winter, when it works perfect on a cold day with the sun harshly reflecting off the snow.
And I’m just finishing off a post on incense fragrances for fall…including Timbuktu. I don’t know why but I just don’t love it in summer.
You’re not alone. My boyfriend didn’t appreciate me wearing Timbuktu in the summer. He said it smells of fall to him.
See, he was right 😉
I like that effect of sun glinting off snow.
I wanted something bracing and crisp and ended up choosing L’Eau à la Folie which fits the bill perfectly.
SOTD: 1 Million Paco Rabanne for men
I am wearing ELdO Like This, which is something that, when I first bought the bottle a couple of years ago I wore a lot. Then I decided that it really is best in the fall, so I now wear it this time of year, but not much at any other time. I do like it though, and there is not that much left in the bottle. (I also like the orange spray tube – not sure what that’s called – in the bottle.)
Oh, you smell wonderful! You’ve also reminded me I have a sample I’ve been waiting for the right time to wear – so that’ll be tomorrow’s SOTD 🙂 (and I suspect a FB isn’t far off) It does seem totally right for this time of year.
SOTD Musc Maori from a sample- I applied lightly and need to go a little heavier I think. I really like so many from PG and it doesn’t hurt that there is a really hot man behind the brand! Not that I am that superficial…or sexist… Or anything like that! No! Not me!
I really like this one and would love to have a spray
sample so the scent could really open up on the skin.
Happy Hump Day to all!
Speaking of “musc,” I see the Parfum d’Empire is now offering a EDP version of the Musc Tonkin! I have a teensy bit of the extrait…oh boy- I bet the EDP is fantastic! Anyone have any experience with the EdP yet?
Bottega Veneta Eau Légère. I ignored it for almost a year, but am trying to wear it more, since I have almost a full bottle left. Out of the bottle, it’s not loud or exciting, but every time I wear it, it’s so much prettier than I remembered.
You smell lovely! The EL is just perfect for early fall.
I guess one scent wasn’t enough. 🙂 I picked up lunch next to a Sephora and since it was right in the doorway, poked my head in to spritz on some Pharell Williams Girl. It’s so much more interesting than I expected, and it’s MUCH different on paper than it is on my skin. On paper, the opening was cirtusy and kind of herbal or like crushed greens, followed by some light florals, spices, and wood. On my skin, it reminded me of the part of Lush’s Breath of God that scared me… and then eventually hot tires. Yet for some reason, I’m having a good time watching this develop! Looking forward to sampling this one again!
Hello all! My SOTD is Bombshell by Victoria’s Secret. It has been a while since I have worn this. I was crazy about it when it first came out and would wear it all the time. My taste in fragrances have matured since then and I tend to go with more niche fragrances now. I saw the bottle on my vanity looking sad and lonely, so I decided to give it some attention. Nice change up for me because it’s been a while. Hope everyone has a great day!
I completely believe that things can be sad and lonely, although I notice it more with clothes: I try to wearing everything in a season, and am starting to go through my just-switched winter wardrobe. Wearing the never-neglected Ferre, one of my office scents.
You smell both lovely and efficient! If I ever find another job, I think I’ll wear Ferre a lot.
SOTD Chanel Bois des Iles EDT, it suited the autumn weather perfectly. I own a FB, should remember to wear it more frequently.
I’m wearing Kenzo L’Elephant. Spices galore in this one. I did the walk thru cloud before dressing today instead of my spritz routine: wrist wrist neck décolletage. I kinda miss not having a wrist to sniff, but the sillage is massive on this and I don’t want to add more. It’s prob too hot to wear this today but I was craving something spicy. I kinda want a chai latte to go with my sillage cloud.
I love this one too! It was a very successful blind buy for me. This is one that I spray around my bellybutton area because is does pack a gorgeous punch 🙂
SOTD is Halston Z-14. Love CDG 2Man, and it’s starting to be the right time to wear that again, with autumn already here
I have a CDG 2 Man mini that I gave The CEO… he never wears it. I might swipe it back. SOTD is SSS Tabac Aurea, mmmmm. Golden indeed.
One of my all time faves! You smell wonderful 🙂
Oh, do…it should not go to waste!
I’m wearing Jacomo Paradox Blue today and it’s something that I haven’t worn in ages. This truly does present a paradox for me, as the list of notes (vanilla, caramel, melon, etc.) shouldn’t add up to anything I like, yet I do like it. The melon departs quickly after its initial opening blast, and what remains is a woody, spicy floral with a gourmand base that is warm and easy to wear.
As I was writing this, one of my 20-something colleagues dropped a report off in my office and said “that’s a sexy one you’re wearing today” (meaning the scent), so maybe it’s got a little more oomph than I originally thought.
I’m blessed with a group of male colleagues who get a kick out of my perfume addiction and often give me feedback from the male point of view. It’s interesting how some scents cross the gender barrier better than others.
That’s fun! Lucky you 🙂
Today I wore Wit. It really is so pretty and perfect for spring and I think I need a bottle. Sigh! One day…
SOTE is Agent Provocateur L’Agent. I hadnt tried this til recently and IT’S SO NICE!
Love L’Agent! It’s my favorite of the AP’s so far. Wit I think will have to move up on my To Try list.
Oh do try it Laurels. It’s a delicate, joyful thing and probably best suited to sunny days and gentle breezes, but anytime is a good time to capture this mood.
I tried it due to the love it’s been given in here and am so glad I did. I can’t think of anything else like it.
I *think* I’m wearing Osmanthe Yunnan. I picked up a sample on my dresser whose handwritten labeled had all but faded to blankness. In very good lighg and with much squinting, I can read Osmanthus (sic). Underneath seems to be the letter Y and the remainder is illegible.
Anyway! I’ve decided I quite like osmanthus. This is the big note I pick up in Flowerbomb, a favorite.
Spritzed on some Chanel Chance Eau Tendre this morning. Realizing that there are two kinds of days: either I want a scent to last me through a 10 hour day, or I can choose something that will last through the morning, and then I can apply an afternoon scent.
This is one of those morning scent days.
Will probably roll on some Reveal thus afternoon, cause the salted caramel musk is getting to be an afternoon routine.
I love Eau Tendre! I wear it lots in the summer or, as you said, if I just want something that will last through the morning and apply something else in the afternoon.
I have never tried reveal, but it sounds divine.
SOTD is a sample of Lancôme Tresor Midnight Rose, which is a nice raspberry-rose.
You smell great! I have that one too, and I really like it. It works much better on me than the original.
Thanks! I’m not a fan of the original Tresor either, but I really like this one.
Wearing Chypre Rouge.
This is the very first Lutens that I purchased and to this day it is still my favorite. For so reason, I always identify this smell with sunny, crisp, fall days. So, for today, this was an automatic choice.
Accidentally posted above in a comment:

Good luck finding a dupe. Let us know if you do, please!
There has to be something in a similar vein. Has to!
PdN L’Eau Mixte today. It’s another hot one in San Diego. One day it will cool off. But summer perfumes are my favorite anyway, so that part is OK with me! I just have a decant of this one, but I’ve worn it quite a few times this summer – it’s a citrus, but long-lasting and unique.
Yes, “one day it will cool off”!
L’Eau Mixte is lovely. You smell fantastic!
Wearing California Reverie Van Cleef Arpel from a nice free mini. It is not exactly something that I should like, but for some weird reason, this fragrance makes me happy. Yes, I know it does not smell like California (I can test that easily), but maybe it is that dream part that I enjoy and still hope for 😉
I thought it was gorgeous – at least the first hour of it.
What does? I am always on the lookout for a real California smell – I used to buy a Kiehl’s shampoo (olive fruit, I think) because it smelled like California.
rose pepper, have you explored fragrances from Juniper Ridge? I would think that some in that line would be more about the actual smells of California. My understanding of California Reverie is that it should evoke that idea/dream ? of California in a more abstract sense … Whether it does or not, it smells good to me.
Sampline Musc Monoi and unimpressed. Calone is much stronger than I thought when I sniffed the vial and it’s getting on my nerves. Bummer.
Today I’m wearing Divine edp by Divine. I do wear many from the line quite regularly, and can’t recommend the extrait of this one highly enough. It’s wonderful and the price is really great.
You smell wonderful. I own both the extrait and the edp. I love the line in general, they are such well made fragrances.
I’m sure you smell great, too, though I haven’t sampled your sotd yet. 🙂
Isn’t it a wonderful line? I’ve got three bottles that are getting low (L’Ame Soeur, L’Infante and the original Divine) that I have to replace as well as acquiring both versions of L’Inspiratrice (sp?) while the older one is still available. And I just never get tired of them. DH also loves L’Homme de Coeur and L’Homme Sage, though he’s been out of the latter for a while and I’m considering buying it for his birthday. It smells so wonderful on him!
But yes, Divine is an underappreciated house, though I don’t entirely mind since that means I likely won’t smell like anyone else when I wear it out and about. 😉 I just hope they’re able to keep doing what they do since they come up with such marvelous perfumes.
Is it a reformulation of L’Inspiratrice? I can’t make that out judging on what is written on their site.
I adore L’Homme de Coeur as well.
I’ve been wanting to get some L’Ame Soeur for a while but can’t make up my mind whether I would like the EDP or the extrait better.
L’Eau à la Folie has been discontinued. Bottles may still be available though. It’s very much in the line with some of her earlier summer eaux like Eau Exotique or Turquoise. Just lovely and easy to wear.
I think it is a reformulation though I’m not entirely clear on it, either. They sent me a card last spring with the new formulation sprayed on it and it is very pretty. Though it doesn’t feel quite as dark as the original L’Inspiratrice, if that makes any sense. I did email them this summer to see if they still have the original formulation in stock and they did, but I got sidetracked and haven’t bought a backup yet. I need to sample the new version to see if owning both versions would be redundant.
Oh, the L’Ame Soeur extrait is calling my name, too. I’m considering it for a birthday present to myself next year. L’Homme de Coeur is so beautifully aloof and one of the few iris perfumes I really enjoy.
That does make sense. I will wear L’Inspiratrice this weekend. And this has just given me another excuse to want to visit Paris.
I have the Divine extrait, too, as well as a decant of L’Infante. So pretty, but they tend to get lost in my perfume cabinet. I’ve pulled L’Infante out to wear tomorrow.
I can totally see you in the Divine’s. Have you tried L’Ame Soeur?
No, I haven’t. What is it like?
It’s a wonderful aldehydic floral with a very soft ambery and powdery drydown. V. describes it much better here:
http://boisdejasmin.com/2005/09/perfume_review__2-2.html
Thanks, austenfan, it sounds lovely.
Am wearing Guerlain’s AA Flora Nymphea–a sheer lilac scent that I quite like. It has a tweak of bitter and drop of honey over lilacs and I find it very pretty.
A recent steal was a sealed box, with all the ribbbon trimmings, of By Killian In the Garden of Good and Evil, Good Girl Gone Bad–$50. It was a blind buy (I was at an auction house looking for a lamp…and it was part of a store’s “estate sale,”) but I figured it was the only time I would ever purchase a By Killian FB. The packaging is both ridiculous and fun. The white clutch with the gold snake to me says, “Yah, Baby, Vegas…” and the bottle continues with that vibe… The scent? Well, that is also why I brought it up here– It is a tropical floral, not as sheer as Flora Nymphea, but on a cool day either one might foot the bill for a mixed floral with a few left turns. I’m not sure where the Good Girl goes “bad” in the Killian fragrance…except perhaps if you wore it on a hot day it might get a little over-ripe. I am pleased with my blind buy, but I WOULD NEVER pay full price for it. It is a charming spin on tropical florals, but I cannot imagine what would induce someone to fork over $250 for 50 mls of it.
Question, has anyone tried or purchased a By Killian that you thought was worth the luxury $$$? Which one was it?
I’m actually considering a refill bottle of A Taste of Heaven and Beyond Love. These days the refills are a good deal as most niche house prices have increased so much. I would never wish to spend any money on the packaging of the regular bottles.
I have a sample of Floral Nymphea that I have not tried – you’ve inspired me to pull it out and try it tomorrow.
Wow! That is quite the score. I don’t own any By Kilians, but like the darker, less floral ones – Back to Black, Straight to Heaven, and Amber Oud. If my husband liked Straight to Heaven (he told me I smelled “like a dude” last time I wore it), I would consider buying one of the travel refills.
At one time I owned a travel bottle (the 10ml ones) of Beyond Love. Turned out I never wore it, and I sold it. These days I’ve got several sample sprays (for which I paid) of Rose Oud. If you can find some buddies and break up one of the 3x10ml travel bottle sets, they’re not a bad deal. Otherwise I’d said no.
I purchased the travel atomizer sets of Liaisons Dangereuses (rose-plum) and Beyond Love (tuberose). The black or silver atomizers are beautiful and protect the perfume from light so I can keep them handy on my dresser, and I can keep the other vials safe in my refrigerator. So these to me are practical as well as beautiful.
I have a partial of Pure Oud in the box. I’m not crazy about the box because it’s so large, although that wouldn’t be a problem if I only had a couple of perfumes, like a normal person. 🙂 I also have discounted bottles (no box) of Rose Oud and Straight to Heaven (the lavender) that I keep in drawers. They are excellent bottles, but I was almost sorry that I found discounted FBs of the ouds before they came out with the gold-tone travel atomizers. I’d love to have one of those snake clutches but wasn’t fond of that series. Congratulations on finding one you like in that packaging!
Oh goodness. Email me and I’ll send you the clutch!
I just wrote out my email for someone a moment ago… here it is: ann dotty eisenberg attagirl comcast dotty com
Serious bottle envy on the BK line, but the only one I really really liked was Rose Oud. I’d never use a whole bottle, though.
That’s a great find! I tried the first three of the Good & Evil series, and Good Girl Gone Bad was the only one I liked. Not enough to pay $250 certainly, but I’d definitely pay $50 if I were so lucky.
I have the travel sets of Rose Oud and A Taste of Heaven, and some sample sprays of Anber Oud that I rather like. I have the coffret of the original series, and would consider replacing Beyond Love, Back to Black, Love and Sweet Redemption when gone.
Not sure I’d buy the bottle of any of these though.. Maybe Love.. I know it’s a big orange blossom marshmallow but in winter i tend to wear it a lot.. (at home)
Wow! That snake clutch is to die for. Would gladly swap for it but I saw above that nozknoz gets first dibs.
I shelled out for Apple Brandy in its original packaging. I don’t think the refill packaging was available when I bought the lock box version.
Wearing 2 scents today for happy reasons!
Scent 1 is Pacifica Mediterranean Fig–I had an interview this morning and wanted something inoffensive, light, and that would wear off quickly.
Scent 2 is vintage (90’s) Diorissimo which i picked up from a Craigslist deal this afternoon. This is also going to be my Friday scent, but I just had to try a little as soon as I got it. The bottle has been used–there are about 25 or 30 mL left of a 100 mL bottle. Perfect! Anyway, I bought this to celebrate–I got a job! (Not the one I interviewed for this morning, a different on.)
Congratulations!
Nice, congrats! And perfect choice on the Diorissimo.
Congratulations! And you know you are among your people when buying a more than half-empty bottle of old perfume seems like a perfect way to celebrate.
Yay for the job! And the Diorissimo.
Two thumbs up for income! Now you can buy the fumes of your dreams! Congrats 🙂
Congrats on the new job and enjoy your “celebration”!
Congratulations, Missionista. I am so happy for you!
Adding my congrats!
I’m sampling FM Dries Van Noten for about the third time. Impressed by how it manages to be comforting, like steamed milk-pudding, but also feel rather elegant, somehow. Husband less impressed… “hmm, vanillary. It’s not my favourite”. But I think I smell great!
SOTD: Roja Dove Unspoken. I don’t wear this nearly enough, and now that I have it on, I’d have to say that it is one of the most beautiful scents that I own.
Shiseido FdB plus a couple of dabs of ancient resins oil in my hair. I smell like a crisp sunny fall day, almost like I planned it…
Amouage Lyric Woman. I’m dealing with a lot of upheaval and irritation for the next few weeks, and I thought I’d treat myself. (By wearing the LW sample, I mean. Not, unfortunately, by buying a bottle.) It’s as I feared–even the loveliest perfume won’t make up for only getting two hours of sleep.
I have an FB of AL that I will never finish… I’d be happy to send you some! Won’t make up for lost sleep, but perhaps for something. ann dotty eisenberg attagirl comcast dotty com
That’s so nice of you! It definitely takes the edge off my sleep-deprivation headache.
And congratulations on the By Kilian find. I’ve only tried a few, but so far… $50 seems reasonable.
Theorema – it’s “orange creamsicle and pencil shavings” vibe matches my coral shirt, as well as the drawing class I’m teaching this afternoon, just perfectly.
Fragrance Republic 01/02. The perfumer wanted to create a “vaporous tuberose” and succeeded. It’s tuberose, but light and sheer and lasted four hours, start to finish. Unfortunately, I like my tuberoses big and dense so I’m spraying Fracas now.
If you ever get the chance, give Kiss My Name (Ramon Monegal) a whirl. It is a big and dense tuberose. Unfortunately I gave away the last of my bottle, or I would send it to you.
Putting it on the sample list. Thanks for the rec!
I found my decant last night, so I’m wearing Volutes EDP today.
SL Rousse! It’s pretty nice, but not exactly enchanting. I’m very pleased to be wearing all my autumn fragrances again after all the citrus over summer – I like citrus for all seasons except autumn, I think!
No SOTD yet! I’ve been patiently waiting for my FB of Avignon to come in the mail today, along with a mini from Goest perfumes, whom I had never heard of but found on the Catbird website and couldn’t resist their cute little mini perfumes. The one I got from them is called “Dauphine” and it’s supposed to be almond and rosewater, so I’m hoping it will be turkish delight-esque. I want them to get here before I go to work!
I also got some fancy incense that is coming with Dauphine. Ughhh, I’m not patient enough for this!
Waiting for a delivery is the worst! I have some samples that should show up this week and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hit refresh on the online shipment tracker… not because it’s taking a long time, but because I’m so excited to get them.
Enjoy Avignon when you get it! That’s such a good one!
Such a great end of the day for me coming home to a perfume package whether samples, decants or FBs.
I was so excited. BOTH packages arrived right as I was leaving for work. I wore Dauphine because I hadn’t tried it before, and it is lovely! I think it will be a good bedtime scent, for sure. And the teensy bottle is just so cute.
I am SO happy to have finally purchased Avignon. I ran through my decant pretty fast and it was my “Yay-I-Found-A-Job” present to myself. So worth it.
And yes, even though they say when the products are going to arrive, I can’t help but compulsively track the shipping. Anticipation!
Carthusia Via Camerelle today. It’s a nice, basic Italian cologne, but it doesn’t float my boat. I’m almost done with my bottle. Just noticed on LuckyScent that it’s available as an extrait now, but I don’t think I need it.
Since this is sort of fleeting, I may add a spray or two of Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta, Riviera Edition, this afternoon. Now THAT is one of my holy grail colognes.
Via Camerelle does quite nicely in my hair. I really like the delicacy of it but way too often it just disappears in 15 minutes flat!
SOTD is PG Brulure de Rose, a raspberry and rose creme brulée with lots of wood. I have to be in the right mood for it, but it is a good one for fall.
I have a reasonably sized 30 ml bottle, but I notice that on Luckyscent, only the 50 ml size is offered (for all the PGs). Does anyone know if they have discontinued the 30 ml size?
I just answered my own question by going to the PG site. 30 ml is still available, but Luckyscent does not carry it. It seems to be available on the Osswald Parfumerie site.
I had no idea 30ml were available in this line, which is one of my favorites! Thanks for the info, you may have just enabled a purchase or two =)
Always happy to enable
The touch of amber in the drydown of yesterday’s Champagne de Bois prompted me to choose Voile d’Ambre edp from Yves Rocher’s Secrets D’Essences line even before I saw floragal’s post last night about how she was enjoying its cozy amber/vanilla/incense. Voile d’Ambre has been a fall favorite of mine since its debut in 2006, and it is truly aptly named. Rich yet somehow light, it rests on the wearer’s shoulders like the softest shawl of the finest cashmere – one wonders how such a gossamer garment can be so cozy and warm! YR calls it an oriental woody amber and lists its notes as Italian green mandarin, cardamom; myrrh, incense, opoponax; Madagascar vanilla, patchouli, and Australian sandalwood. I find it soft, subtle and very sensual, sweet, but never sugary, a perfect mirror to the golden cloak that’s wrapping up my little corner of the world, ever so slowly, each day. Delicious!
Scent twins today 😉
This is my very first Yves Rocher fragrance and I’m so glad it’s this one. I have a dabber, but plan to move some into a spray this weekend. Great find!
Hi, scent twin! The body lotion is equally nice, light but very long-lasting, nice when you’re with people and don’t want to be ‘perfumey.’
SOTD is Caron Tabac Blond, edt with a tiny bit of the extrait added just on the insides of my elbows. Both are from tiny sample vials, and this is a new scent I’m just now testing. I like it very much, even in the spots where it’s just the edt (actually can’t tell much difference from where the extrait was added), and it’s lasting well (6 hours in now). I think it might be time for my first FB in a while!
Nuts – I guess not a FB, unless I find a way to transport myself to a Caron boutique in New York or Paris. Foo. Okay, so a bigger sample from STC!
Wearing Tsukimi over Terracotta which is a nice new to me combo. Terracotta got a lot of wear over the summer but Tsukimi hasn’t gotten much wear since I bought it. I wanted something new but didn’t quite want to sample. In other words, I was feeling indecisive and off
I’m wearing Anna Sui Secret Wish, but unfortunately it smells all wrong…I think it’s gone off. Sigh.
L’Occitane’s Fleur d’Or for me today!
SOTD was Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt (or whatever it’s called) & Nectarine Blossom and Honey, which is a fantastic pairing. Energizing for a dreary day at the office.
SOTE is Angel. I have a little sample and I get more pineapple & honey from it than I do cocoa and patch. I’ll be a little sad when it’s gone.
Fending off fall’s chills with Mugler Cologne, without much success!
Today my closest cubicle companion is out of town, so I thought I’d try out my Mohur to see if I could pull it off for daytime/work. I was happy that it was a winner. As always no compliments nor complaints but it seemed transparent enough for work. Yay! Another one gets to go in the rotation. I just love this one.
You smell divine!
