Three short videos for the new Nina L'Eau from Nina Ricci. First up, the commercial, featuring model Frida Gustavsson and a snowy owl. Below the jump, Nina's three fairy godmothers (I am not making this up) talk about what to give her, then below that, one of them mixes up a batch of Nina L'Eau.
So now we need a category for video in the Prix Eau Faux awards!
No kidding!
Actually rather impressed at the lengths they have gone to for this one — Nina must be even more of a cash cow than I’d already figured. But now I want fairy godmothers for all the women in perfume commercials. Evan Rachel Wood (Gucci Guilty Black) and Georgia May Jagger (Just Cavalli) could use some assistance as well.
In the first video, the model looks like a young Nicole Kidman and with the added snow-scaped atmosphere and the creepy/eerie Danny-Elfman-like soundtrack, it reminded me a lot of Gus Van Sant’s “To Die For”…..a great film (darkly humorous)
Missed that movie, but she does recall NK.
I think Nina is big in Europe and not so much in the US?? I know it got removed from Macy’s whilst I was working fragrance retail there in 2010.
I was amused/fascination by Denyse’s post about the release party for Nina L’Eau… including a snowy owl encounter.
That might be it.
Density is complicated?
Density isn’t complicated, when you add a dollop of white musk.
White musk?
White musk?
But where will we find white musk?
Musk from the cleanest baby deer
Musk from behind an owl’s ear
No silly, we’ll go downstairs
We’ll catch the laundrette unawares
And make her give us softeners
It won’t be hard at all! Not hard at all!
The snuggle bear will meet us there and give us all white musk,
White musk!
Density is destiny
With snowy, downy, April fresh-y
Magical White Musk!
Excellent!
Brava!
*applause!*
Very nice! I would blind-buy a fragrance called
Behind an Owl’s Ear. Oh, hell, make it a 3.4oz!
I know I am going to love it!
Never mind the perfume–I’d like to wander through that hedge maze in the first commercial. I’ve always wanted to see a real hedge maze.
Not sure about hedge mazes – I think I’d always be expecting Jack Nicholas! 😉
I’d pay whatever this flanker costs to get a close look at the owl!
White owl + hedge maze = Labyrinth! Where’s David Bowie?
