Posted by Robin on 10 October 2012 10 Comments

Koto Parfums Hello Kitty Party fragrance

Koto Parfums has launched Hello Kitty Party, a new 'festive' fragrance for children.

The fruity floral musk features notes of pear, grass, "fresh pink", white peach, vanilla and musk.

Koto Parfums Hello Kitty Party is available in 75 ml Eau de Toilette, and in a gift set with invitations, balloons and party favors.

Reading this actually reminded me that the Japanese (who may not have anything to do with this anymore, but certainly when Sanrio was behind all Hello Kitty stuff) could actually do a wonderful scent-taste replica for white peach and muscat grapes that no one else could do. When I was young (80s) and went to spend my allowance at the Sanrio concession at the local drugstore, I always used to buy Sanrio branded Hello Kitty/My Melody/Little Twin Stars bubble gum, which was usually in a white peach or muscat flavour. Lasted about as long as Fruit Stripe in flavour (always seemed like 10 minutes tops) but it sure was good.

Don’t think I ever had the bubble gum. Or I’ve forgotten.

Kasugai’s peach and muscat gummies still make me drool…the muscat more than the peach. Slightly. Very very slightly.

Worth noting that Koto Parfums specializes in perfumes for children, so this Hello Kitty launch is an *appropriate* use of the fruity floral genre.

I think my comment came out wrong – oh well, meant that fruity florals are good perfumes for children. :/

Yes! Not sure if they also make the Sephora Hello Kitty line as well, but that range is clearly targeting an older audience.

… probably if it is for kids, the raw materials are more mild and shorter lived which might also be a plus for a fruity floral! – instant gratification that doesn’t go on and on chemically speaking.

Sort of sounds like a babier version of Petite Cherie? Would be interesting if it was.

Guilty of having both in my kitchen cupboard at the moment!
