Parfums M Micallef Ylang in Gold ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 21 August 2012 12 Comments

Parfums M Micallef Ylang in Gold

French niche line Parfums M Micallef has launched Ylang in Gold, a new fragrance for women. Ylang in Gold...

...opens up on refreshing citrus head notes and consists of voluptuous flowers warmed by sweet and sunny base notes suggesting tropical islands, from ylang-ylang, sandalwood, coconut and vanilla.

On the skin, Ylang in Gold leaves a light and delicate pearly golden dust made of golden powder, especially created and elaborated according to current standards for cosmetics.

Additional notes include mandarin, geranium, artemisia, rose, lily-of-the-valley, magnolia and musk.

Parfums M Micallef Ylang in Gold is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum, 195€.

(via press release)

Update: see a review of Ylang in Gold.

A literally powdery drydown is very interesting. I find the proliferation of “sparkle editions” of perfume to be a bit twee (or tween!) for my taste, but golden powder is interesting. Or maybe this is really just glitter?

“especially created and elaborated according to current standards for cosmetics”

It almost sound like they’re thinking people are going to protest that the powder is dangerous? very weird.

I think Ormonde Jayne has a similar product, but it’s a solid perfume balm?

Why does that bottle look so familiar?

Hope someone else will chime in — not bringing anything to my mind.

In the picture it looks very “holywood glam.” Although they don’t look at all alike, the image did bring to mind the EL PC bottles.

A day late here… the bottle is very similar to the one they do for Micallef Jewel. Actually, see below, I didn’t realize it was meant to be a “series” in any way.

I’ve heard this is nice and I’m a fan of Micallef. I need to wheedle a sample out of a friend.

No, I’m not a huge fan of ylang, and don’t really want gold sparkle on my arms, which is where I usually wear fragrance.

Michael Kors, Very Hollywood. Almost dead ringer.

Oops. that was supposed to go to the what does bottle remind one of post.

But I don’t like glitter on my arms either.

This sounds as if it’s something I might want to try, even if it is a bit sparkly for my taste…
