Posted by Robin on 17 July 2012 21 Comments

Strenesse Selected Fragrances Pear Williams & Pink Pepper

German fashion brand Strenesse has launched Strenesse Selected Fragrances, a new trio of fragrances for women:

Pear Williams & Pink Pepper (shown) ~ "Kick off the day with pure energy: the new scent from our Selected-Fragrance collection featuring a touch of fruity pear and vitalizing pepper. Designed according to this summer´s trend colors STRENESSE has developed this green scent in close cooperation with famous perfumer Ursula Wandel as a fine composition of a pear sorbet and pink pepper. The heart of the fragrance melts those notes with water lily and fresh rose leading into a hint of cedarwood and musk."

Magnolia & Cassis ~ "Sets the mood for summer: the new scent from our Selected-Fragrance collection with fine nuances of magnolia and cassis. Developed in close cooperation with famous perfumer Ursula Wandel this fragrance will emanate a sensual scent throughout the whole day. Designed according to this summer´s trend colors the reddish glowing perfume features bergamot, black currant and white peach as well as magnolia, jasmine and water lily at its heart note and sandalwood, musk and cedarwood as a base."

Cashmere & Musk ~ "Enjoy a perfect day with a new scent from our Selected-Fragrance collection featuring fine nuances of cashmere and musk. Developed in close cooperation with famous perfumer Ursula Wandel this fragrance will cover you like warming sunrays. The elegant cashmere note of the perfume turns out to be equally fine as the wool would be. Designed according to this summer´s trend colors the yellow scent spreads a smooth touch of cashmeran and hedione, benzoin Laos and tonka beans as well as sylkolide and vanilla."

The Strenesse Selected Fragrances are available in 25 ml Eau de Parfum, €24 each.

Really miss Strenesse original, the milky almond floral, and Summer, the peach-mint version (still a milky floral).

I couple of days, I was that…close to hitting the BUY button on ebay for the classic Strenesse. I didn’t but I’m keeping it on my wish list 😉

Hi pigoletto. From one Strenesse lover to the next, you can still find the original on several discount sites for a really good price. I bought four bottles a couple years ago because I don’t want to run out of it. It was one of my first serious perfumista loves and holds lots of fond memories. I didn’t even know there was a summer version. It sounds beautiful!

Robin, if you’d like to try some, I’d be happy to send you a bit. It is really beautiful and one of those classic almond comfort scents that I just love. Drop me a line and I can get some out your way. 🙂

That’s very sweet, thank you! Visiting family for much of the next month so isn’t a good idea to send me anything, but may take you up after vacation season is over.

So would you call it a comfort scent?

(and surprised I’ve missed this, probably better check my notes to be sure I haven’t tried it & forgotten)

Oh yes, it has that soft, fuzzy and warm feeling of a comfort scent to me. It is long lasting but not a sillage monster, though I can certainly smell it all day long. And all the notes are distinct to a degree, but well blended enough that the fragrance is its own smell not dominated by any one note in particular and is pretty linear from top to drydown. I loved it on first sniff, am almost through my second bottle and still think about buying more so I won’t have to be without it. The color is a little disconcerting, but the milky look of it just adds to the milky almond-heliotrope/peach/musky vanilla comfort of it and I haven’t smelled anything like it, even while exploring almonds/heliotrope/musk/vanilla compositions as I love to do.

Have a wonderful vacation. And do feel free to drop me a line if you have time and are interested in trying it or re-trying it to refresh your memory. It is a favorite of mine and I have no idea why it was reformulated, but se la vie.

AS, is this the round bottle? I liked it way back then, but as I smelled the angular shaped bottle last year, also called Strenesse, I didn’t like it at all. Do you know whether this is a flanker/new version?

Would love to try Cashmere & Musk. The other two sound too fruity for my liking, but I suppose I’ll never know until I try them.

Are these easy to find in the UK?

I know there’s a boutique in my neighbourhood that carries the fashion line, but don’t know if they also carry the fragrance. It appears it’s going to be near impossible to find a sample.

The sizes of these are perfect and they look like really nice, easy to wear perfumes ideal for cool autumn days. Yeah, I’m just a little eager for cool autumn days here and have quite had enough of summer already. 🙂

It’s funny you should mention that as we had one a few blocks over in an empty field near a school. The temps had been in the upper 90’s-low 100s for two and a half weeks at least (very unusual in western Michigan) and the grass got so dry and it was so hot it just went up. Thankfully it was a small fire and was easily put out, but right about then I decided even home made lemonade, lovely light edts and my love of the lately infrequent summer rain didn’t overpower my want for summer to go packing. It isn’t my favorite season anyway but this is just plain ridiculous. 😉

Love the sizes! Cassis one sounds nice to me for cooler summer days; can almost smell it and sounds like something I’d like to wear after a shower in the morning.

Or maybe I’m getting tired of my thick gourmands and looking for a light relief.
