Dunhill has launched Dunhill Custom, a new fragrance for men:
Dunhill Custom is the new signature fragrance from the fashion house. Distinctive and expertly balanced, this masculine and sophisticated eau de toilette begins with crisp fruity top notes which harmonises with the subtle sparkle of spicy pepper. Finally, a warm cedarwood base creates an elegantly assertive scent.
Additional notes include English pippin apple and incense.
Dunhill Custom can be found now at Harrods in the UK, in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via harrods)
looks quite ‘Gucci pour Homme’, no?
It might be, yes. Would like to see it from another angle.
handsome bottle- I think.
Yes.
The bottle looks great…lot’s of gravitas, clearly for a man of substance…but “crisp fruity top notes” sounds more like Justin Bieber’s territory than a Wall Street banker or Park Avenue cardiologist. I get the feeling that fragrance industry types just phone it in…or maybe they are so busy partying that they forget important details – like aiming for thematic consistency.
I’ve pretty much resigned myself to the fact that every new mainstream men’s fragrance is going to have fruity top notes. The industry has decided it’s the guys’ turn, apparently.
Nice bottle, though – and yes, very Gucci PH.
Looks like the crisp fruit notes are probably mostly apple, which are often more fresh/crisp than sweet. Very much doubt this is geared toward Justin Bieber’s age cohort.
I went to the Harrod’s website…Dunhill has three fragrances on there, but two seem a lot alike (53.1N and Custom)…
Here’s the description of Custom…
Top notes: English pippin apple
Middle notes: spicy black pepper
Base notes: cedarwood and incense
Here’s 53.1N
Top notes: crisp rhubarb
Middle notes: energetic black and pink pepper
Base notes: sandalwood
fruit/pepper/wood, with slight variations…I will say the bottles are great. The 53.1N bottle looks like an old inkwell with a faceted top…very elegant.
They’re such bare bones descriptions that it’s hard to tell…they could be quite different.
It reminds me of the Odin bottles–not exactly, but close enough.
And more goddamn apple! Does everything have to have apple in it? I mean, everything?
My sentiments exactly.
The bottle is Gucciesque.
