Jo Loves

Posted by Robin on 1 March 2011 18 Comments

Jo Malone (formerly of the brand Jo Malone, which is now owned by Estee Lauder) talks about her passion for fragrance and her new brand, Jo Loves. Look for a new collection of fragrances in the fall geared towards "the higher end of the market". (via wwd)

I’m not sure it was a great idea to let her ramble on so long about how much she loves running companies and she needed something to do. The video could use some serious editing…

Maybe the original tape was caught by some evil LAUDER creatives and they decided to eliminate possible competitors by editing it..

You know, that made me think…I guess the one thing this has going for it is that it doesn’t look so “corporate”.

Can’t really imagine that the frags would have the depth, complexity or risk-taking that I appreciate in the best of the “high-end” houses. The Jo Malones are so polite and sheer. Doesn’t encourage me to try her new line, but I’d sniff simply to confirm my pre-judgements.

I’d think the Jo Wood line might object to that one. 😀

I like quite a few of the original (and some of the current ) Jo Malone scents and look forward to trying her new line. Her stuff is competent, if not always exciting, but I’m sort of a boring middle-aged woman myself and don’t WANT a perfume that smells of semen and blood!

Oh my … that was at least three times too long. I think that she said she was inspired by food? Does that mean a line of gourmand fragrances?

Again, guess i am in the less jaded minority… i think the film was not bad at all… i think she truly conveyed her sense of passion for scent and the surrounding elements of scent as well. I don’t think it was Corny or Rambling… but that’s me. I think she simply loves what she does, is that so terrible?

Anyway… Personally cannot wait to experience the new fragrances… Whatever their names may be… could be Jo Loves… Toadstools.. I don’t care i know they will be Most Defintely Wonderful! 😀
