Sean John I am King of the Night ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 2 December 2009 29 Comments

Sean John I am King of the Night

Sean John has launched I am King of the Night, a new limited edition flanker to 2008's I am King fragrance for men:

The fragrance is heightened, senses are ignited, mystery takes take hold. This limited edition, I am King of the Night brings empowerment and luxury to a whole new level. A unique and captivating blend of the breakthrough, signature scent for men - exotic notes of Tangerine Zest, Juicy Orange and Succulent Cranberry are intensified and blended with exclusive imperial French Berry to create a pure magnetic attraction. Colling Mediterranean Water Accord and decadent Key Lime Pie harmonize with rich Labdanum Extract, Vetiver and Sandlewood [sic] essences to create a dynamic and fresh scent that truly speaks to the King within.

Sean John I am King of the Night is available at Macy's, $74 for 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via macys, with many thanks to APassionateJourney for the tip!)

Is this Gucci by Sean John? The bottle reminded me of the Gucci By Gucci feminine bottle with the color of the masculine one

Pretty sure it’s the same one he used for the original? Will have to go peek.

I love the way “of the night” is in tiny embarrassed dark letters, so you read it roughly the way you would if it said, “I AM KING!!! (of Wednesday Scrabble night.)”

Hahaha! If I love the bottles sooo much, like Usher’s VIP, I try to force the scent on myself. Crazy, I know :)

Just in time for the holidays- Tangerine zest, juicy orange, succulent cranberries and French berry – sounds like he’s trying to dress a Christmas goose. All this and key lime pie for dessert.

I Am King, I Am King of the night- blah, blah. He must get bouts of insecurity where he feels the need to come out with these self affirming names for his fragrances every now and then. Why not just say, “I am king of the world?” Or would that be sounding too much like James Cameron?

I must confess that I did like Unforgivable for men. My nose knows no gender.

Ha, with a name like “I AM KING” theres a couple of men I know that if I gifted this to them, I would be making a wry statement of sorts. If that makes any sense.

darn, I just noticed that it says king of the night, which puts a different slant on it.

Well, there’s still the original I Am King if you wanted to make that wry statement…

I Am King + Unforgivable = 2 of the largest selling men’s fragrances EVER. Like ‘pie’ or not…no one has even come close.
