Aargh … I forgot about the NM event (even though they sent me a post card to remind me). I have to keep reminding myself that I *do not need* any of this stuff – I have a bottle of the Chanel and a sample of the L’Eau Ambree already (and about a million tote bags). If I’m buying anything FB retail, it’s the Mercier at *Nordstrom* – must.stay.out.of.Neiman.Marcus.

Ditto on the tote bags…why are they always giving away tote bags?

This is probably a silly question, but… who spends $500 on beauty products at one go???

Ladies who lunch? If you do the high end skin care, it’s probably not that hard.

Two words: Donatella Versace. In fact, that’s probably a cheap date with her.

Aaaaauugggghhh! I have a Pavlovian response to “free samples with purchase.” Do I need anything at Neiman Marcus? Do I even live anywhere near a Neiman Marcus?

LOL…there’s only 2 perfume samples! Not worth $100.

And they’re samples of two things that you can get the SAs to give you for free at NM – at least you could a few weeks ago.

I have this problem. It’s called not reading things thoroughly. Thanks for looking out for me.

Okay – crisis averted: Clinque Bonus Time just hit my Dillards, which is a much cheaper thrill.

Sadly enough, Macy’s also just sent me notice that it’s gift time at Estee Lauder .. but I need the Clinque make-up and even if I do the EL GWP as well – it will still be cheaper than NM and there’s better stuff involved.

I still don’t need either more lipstick or the eyeshadow in the EL GWP … my willpower is non-existent when it comes to beauty and fragrance. Daisy had to talk me down from purchasing the new Chanel fall palette – I really don’t need to spend $85 on that.

I’m with CynthiaW. Saks is already getting me with Songes, and I’m really, really interested in the Laura Mercier. Both the new frag, if it can be called a flanker, as well as the original that inspired it.

My daughter has a *ton* of “purses” that contained the spoils of a GWP I just couldn’t resist. Even though I rarely use everything in said gift, I just feel compelled to find *something* that qualifies so I can get it. I’m the type of woman marketing teams must fantasize about… Or at least who helps them put their children through college. :)

Sad thing is, I bet if I had a couple hours and the means, I might be able to rack up $500’s worth of purchases. Just buying a few of the new Guerlain lipsticks with “ruby” dust would be a good start, and they look *so* lovely… And a gift card? Well then think of that as a discount.

*shakes head* There’s a reason I don’t go out shopping unless I’m extremely directed. :D I know myself too well. I’m like a rabbit to bloodhounds as soon as I walk into my local Macy’s, and am always getting calls on this or that from my “hook up” at a specific counter.

Luckily for me, I no longer enjoy shopping the way I used to. If it wasn’t for perfume, I wouldn’t enter department stores or malls at all.

I was thinking that I could probably rack up $500 really fast in NM if I went on an FB binge – the Guerlain counter alone could wipe me out. I do not need another lipstick – but I really do like the look of the new Guerlains. They got me with the ruby dust, too.
