Couture Couture fragrance by Juicy CoutureCouture Couture by Juicy Couture, rollerball

Juicy Couture has launched Couture Couture, the brand's latest fragrance for women:

Juicy Couture is busting out with a decadent new scent. An ‘it girl’ fragrance named ‘Couture Couture’ inspired by Zoe. Everywhere Zoe goes the party follows- so DO THE DON’TS....SHOW OFF, BE LOUD, DRIVE FAST, TALK TO STRANGERS, MAKE A SCENE, LOVE LIFE!

Mix it with love & make the world smell good!

The fragrance notes feature mandarin, orange blossom, pink grape accord, star jasmine, honeysuckle, blushed plum, amber, vanilla and creamy sandalwood.

Couture Couture by Juicy Couture is available in 50 ($65) or 100 ($85) ml Eau de Parfum spray (shown above left, and currently exclusive to Bloomingdales) or in a rollerball (shown above right, $16, and currently available for pre-order at Nordstrom). (via bloomingdales)

Update: Couture Couture is meant as a "decadent sister" to the prior Juicy Couture fragrances. It  was developed by perfumer Honorine Blanc, and will also be available in a 30 ml Parfum ($300) and a 30 ml "special edition" Eau de Parfum ($55), as well as in a variety of bath & body products. Zoe who? And has anyone ever seen or smelled a pink grape? Pink Zinfandel (the mix of red and green grapes) is the only thing that comes to mind, and that’s not a good thing.

Kudos to Juicy Couture on their branding – all the bottles share that same pink and gold motif and now it’s easily recognizable as a new JC perfume. And the rollerballs sell like hotcakes.

One of the founders of JC has a daughter named Zoe, maybe that is what they mean? But I’m just guessing.

I assumed they meant Rachel Zoe, the celebrity fashion stylist or whatever her similar claim to talent is.

Either way, I absolutely can’t stand any of these fragrances (Dirty English was perhaps tolerable), the brand, its founders, or the marketing. Which is funny, because Betsey Johnson has a similar aesthetic, and yet I find both the clothes and fragrance kitchy and cute. Perhaps my problem is that I can’t figure out whether Juicy is being completely serious or not.

On MTV there was a show called True Life and there was a True Life: I’m a Shoppaholic, and this girl was thousands of dollars in debt because she was addicted to buying clothes… but all her clothes were Juicy sweat suits and a few lycra dresses.

Driving fast can put yourself and others in danger.
idk I’m sure this will sell pretty well.

lol –yeah Krok, it probably will….maybe they should add a couple more exclamatory descriptives like “BE OBNOXIOUS” and “MAKE POOR CHOICES” —show off? be loud? make a scene? –who are they marketing for? white trash?

I don’t know who they’re marketing for but I’d rather not try make sense of people who call terry and velour loungewear couture.

jk, it’s marketed for girls in the era of ~*~*reality tv*~*~ who idolize Heidi Montag and Kim Kardashian

He made a post saying my ~*fav band*~ has never played live ever which is SOOOO not true, what the hex? All their tours have been 100% live, they only do playback at dumb promotional things.

I hate these people who have nothing to offer but are famous because they know how to ~*~*~MAKE A SCENE~*~*~*~

this kinda echoes a sentiment that I have felt lately that it’s more extraordinary if you just be yourself and get on with your own life without drawing much attention to yourself… it carries an air of mystery when the people who are LOUDLY CAUSING A SCENE are so transparently obvious! similar to my theory of how a female tennis player would be more off-putting if she played in deadly silence…

In reference to the perfume, why is it vogue for pefume brands to repeat a word and call it a name? “Nina Nina”, “I Love Love”, now “Couture Couture”… what’s next, “Angel Angel”? “Daisy Daisy”? Or maybe even “1 Million Million” for the guys (perhaps it could be called “1 Billion”…)

Ditto on the above driving fast comment. Actually the notes don’t seem to me to be right for SHOW O

Yes, I don’t think driving fast is good advice. The notes listed don;t make me think BE LOUD, MAKE A SCENE etc, but I really like juicy couture so I would sample this if I come across it. I’ve got a lot of perfumes to plough through now so I’m not up for buying another at the moment

In the original 70s movie, the Candy Man song says “the candy man can ’cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good…” or something like that.

Well, I mean I won’t go out with the intention of trying it but might if I accidentally trip a Sephora SA who has it in their hand and they accidentally and reflexively spray it on me. Or I just have an empty space on my body for one more thing.

Wow. Had no idea there were so many JC haters out there! I agree, the clothes are a bit tacky, but I think they’re fun. And no, I don’t own any – too expensive for my budget! But I absolutely love the original Juicy Couture eau de parfum. It’s one of my HGs. I also have a rollerball of Viva La Juicy, and agree that’s it’s way sweet – much more suited to young girls than myself (not so young), but I still wear it once in awhile, as I do Nanette Lepore, which also seems to get bashed for being too sweet. (It makes me smile as soon as I smell it…that can’t be bad!)

I’ll will try Couture Couture, only because I love the original JC so much.

And FYI – I am in my late 40’s and am definitely NOT a Paris Hilton fan… ;-)

LOL…we’re an equal opportunity place to complain, but I didn’t really get the sense from the comments that people hated JC the brand. As I said, I thought the packaging on the 1st scent was genius (especially on all the ancillary products) and it was well done, just not at all my style. I never did smell the 2nd scent.

I suppose “hate” is too strong a word! :-)

Off topic, just went to the post office to send some perfume samples to a friend. I was curious about the whole “perfumes are hazardous” statement by the postal service, so told them there was perfume in the box. That was my demise. Woman refused to send the package. Now, I have sent numerous packages with perfume in them in the past, but never mentioned, “oh, by the way, there’s perfume in there” and all was fine.

Solution? Drove straight over to UPS and had them ship it. Don’t think they’re “supposed” to ship perfume either, but the woman didn’t care. She said that retailers have some sort of special agreements with shippers in order to ship hazardous materials…but us lowly people who want to ship to friends are basically outlawed from doing it. Oh well! Guess I won’t open my mouth about it any longer.

        Seems like a don’t ask don’t tell policy…

I wonder if the special arrangements involve insurance coverage. But I’ll tell you this: I get samples in the mail from Luckyscent, Posh Peasant, Aedes, TPC and many straight from perfume manufacturers….ALL IN PADDED ENVELOPES THRU THE USPS.
Okay, alcohol is flammable….but if there is an explosion on board and the plane is crashing…I don’t think a couple 1ml vials of perfume are going to make it significantly worse (unless they are Dior Addict or Poison perhaps)

Sécrétions Magnifique could bring down a plane, no problem. In fact, if I were on a plane and a 1ml vial spilled, I’d jump OUT of the plane.

            6 July 2009 at 8:54 pm

LOL Jolie!!!! here’s a VERY important physics question for you before you jump: on a plane travelling at velocity xyz, enroute from NY to LA at a height of 20,000feet at 3PM in the afternoon on a Tuesday……which falls faster You or Your Vomit? (for surely the Secretions Gagnifique made you puke before you were able to get out the emergency door) don’t want to “meet” it on the way down.

        • boojum says:
          6 July 2009 at 4:44 pm

You can mail perfume through the USPS, but you have to mark it for surface transport only, and put it inside a sealed plastic bag with enough “other material” to absorb any liquid if it spills. At least…that’s what I was told when I made your same error in judgment. ;)

I think Boojum is right…you can send it via the regular PO, but not worth the bother given the restrictions. UPS is supposed to only ship perfume via ground, but they are usually much faster sending ground than the USPS. Also more expensive though.

This is weird. Every time I’ve sent perfume samples, they ask, “Anything hazardous or liquid?” and I say, “Just perfume samples,” and they toss it on through. Maybe I’m so nonchalant about it, and they’re on autopilot, that they don’t even hear what I say.

I wasn’t too wild about the original JC. It wasn’t bad. It just didn’t grab me. I haven’t tried any of the others, yet, since there’s dozens more higher up on the “must try” list.

But I love all things grape (still looking for a good perfume heavy on, or predominantly composed of, a good grape note aside from CSP’s Princesse Muscat), and the pink grape and plum notes have me intrigued. The little roller ball idea is genius and I might snag one just to give it a shot. If I don’t fancy it, I’m sure my daughter will… Especially if it’s just one she alone wears. We tend to borrow one another’s fragrances around here.

One would think a decant of Pulp would satiate my fruit fix as I have my wrist glued to my nose whenever possible this evening, but no such luck yet. And if Pulp can’t do it, I don’t think any fragrance will. So try, try again. :) I don’t mind a good frag that smells like one stuffed Carmen Miranda’s hat in a bottle now and then.

Poison! Poison has a VERY Pronounced Grape Note in the Fragrance that is more overt in the top note, but becomes more Subtle and Intricate in the Base as it drys down mixing with the Opoponax and Cedar and surprisingly, Rose! it’s a Delicous Potent Concoction! Try It!

I often wonder if someday, my entire fragrance collection will be gradually and sweetly conquered by the incomparable Montale line. I bought an extrait of Intense Tiare and it is absolute bliss, and I have a long standing and passionate affair with SOD.

Oh, and I actually really like Poison. It does have a grape note there. I also like YSL’s Champagne for their interpretation of grapes. It’s fruity and sophisticated all at once, and has the most lovely old fashioned feel to it.

YES! Champagne is in my top 5 favorite fragrances (for Women) Of ALL TIME! Up there with Chanel No. 5, Estee Lauder’s Estee, Gucci Envy and the original Nina by Nina Ricci!

The blurb is daft, but I do lke the bottle, it seems to say ‘fun’…
I’ve never tested any JC before, I’m taking from here that they’re sweet fruity florals?

D I’ve been addicted to this site for about two months already, and yes my day is not complete without checking these blogs! Every one else here at home is quite bemused. I think they understand though. Its so nice to read about other people who seem to be as obsessed with perfume as I am!

I finally got to smell this today at nordstrom and i was kinda disappointed. It does nothing for me. No wow factor. I didnt even crack a smile. its just sweet grape and vanilla. Boring and just blah. Me and my sister both had too high of expectations because we loved Viva so much. Like the original, its another stinker for me. Sorry Juicy Couture! I still like the bottle though.

I don’t like it, really. I loved the packaging on the first one, and didn’t much care for the packaging of Viva La Juicy. This one is better than Viva La Juicy, but I still don’t like it that well. I think it’s that I just don’t like that gold cap — the bottle itself is fine.

Yeah the packaging for the original was the best! Vivas looked exactly like coldplays album cover art for Viva La Vida. Still, Vivas juice is my favorite from them. Even more so then the mens which has been done time and time again. I guess Dirty English hasnt done that great. Would have liked to c another mens.

I went to bloomingdales to give it a try. I wore it a few times.
I think the bottle really speaks for the perfume. Loud, sweet.
    Smells like candy at first-
very very very very sweet as expected.
but it smells like one of those incense on the street after a while.
and it’s really loud through out.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I REEEEAAAAAALLLLLLY hate the name! This has to be the worst name for a fragrance ever, or at least in the top 5. They already have a fragrance called Juicy Couture. Could they honestly NOT think of anything else! Googling this and looking for it on ebay is such a…..female dog

The only thing that looks similar to V. Westwood’s bottle is the top. V’s is a cross and J.C’s is a crown like thingy.

That being said, WHEN IS THIS COMING TO MACY’S?? Do you know, Robin? This was exclusive to Bloomies at first, right? It’s @ Nordstrom now. Why not Macy’s?

THANK YOU, ROBIN! I GOT IT! I really like it, but it reminds me of Viva, so I guess there’s no need to own both of them. I really loooove this bottle, though. This is their best bottle. When I can get to a bottle, I’ll really test it. I realllllly like it :)

It belongs at drugstores or gas stations! Its truly awful to me! Disregard my last comment! Its just horrible! Gross, nasty, ugly, horrifying, sick, etc etc!!

The first scent immediately gave me a head ache the moment I smelled it on a paper strip. The second scent was not much better. And the last one I find horrible. There must be something in the three scents that gives me immediately a head ache.

I find this quite nice. It reminds me of Cinema. I would venture to guess that if this same fragrance had been represented as the newest Lolita Lempicka, not so much hilarity would have ensued.
