A team of scientists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has found a way to genetically enhance the scent of flowers and implant a scent in those that don't have one.
[...] In research that was published recently in the Plant Biotechnology Journal, Prof. Vainstein and his research assistant Michal Moyal Ben-Tzvi succeeded, together with other researchers, to find a way of enhancing the scent of a flower by ten-fold and cause it to emit a scent during day and night - irrespective of the natural rhythm of scent production .

I hope this doesn't make a problem for the pollinators. Genetically modified food is a bit scary for many people, and there have been issues with keeping the crops really separated.
It's a very intriguing idea, but hopefully not one that will result in a backfire down the road.
Don't people have anything better to do? Isn't there a disease they can cure? Yeesh.
Unless I misunderstand, it's supposed to help w/ pollination? But I don't know much of anything about it.
Gosh, I'm blogging about perfume so I guess I won't throw stones 😉
lol – you're not throwing away an advanced degree in biochemistry to write a blog!
No, just an advanced degree in history, LOL…
