Joop! Homme Chill Out ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 10 September 2008 9 Comments

Joop! Homme Chill Out cologne for menLast month, Joop! introduced Joop! Homme Chill Out, a limited edition flanker to 1989's Joop! Homme:

A fresh , energetic and sparkling adaptation of the oriental fresh fragrance with the exotic top notes enhanced. The heart is cleaner and more refreshing, the base has been softened yet the sexy Joop! Homme masculinity remains!

The fragrance notes include bergamot, lemon, cinnamon, exotic fruits, pineapple, watery fruits, lily of the valley, heliotrope, orange blossom, vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla, musk, amber and tonka bean.

Joop! Homme Chill Out is available in 125 ml Eau de Toilette, and can be found now at Escentual in the UK. (via escentual)

Other recent launches from Joop: Joop! Hot Summer collection, Wolfgang Joop, Jette Joop Dark Sapphire.

I don't think that homme masculity remains with: “bergamot, lemon, cinnamon, exotic fruits, pineapple, watery fruits, lily of the valley, heliotrope, orange blossom”.

Have I missed a trend? Fruity-florals for men? where's the pink pepper?

Hey, if the man will buy a hot pink bottle! I've never smelled the original — wish there was a local place to smell the Joop line.

There have been more & more fruity men's scents the past 2 years, really! Somehow doubt this one will be classified as a fruity floral, but I haven't smelled it so couldn't say.

Hmm…I have a strange relationship with the original Joop. And, while I haven't hated any of the flankers thus far, none of them have really felt true to the original to me. I hope this one is remotely good.

The first time I wore the original, with it's strange smell of LouLou and bubble gum, I put on too much and got a severe headache as a rewar :-)

From then on I only used it carefully, usually while wearing a leather jacket that added (at least IMHO) some “masculinity” to the smell.

For me the original was revolutionary and gender bending.

I agree that none of the others came even close in the innovation or revolutionary departments.

I hope this limited edition turns out to be a more “summer-wearable” and recognizable variation from the original.

i doubt this would be available here in south america appart from the duty-free shops at airports… But looking forward to it nonehteless!

P, I am comforted to know that the original was actually gender-bending and not just the usual swill disguised in a pink bottle — thanks!
