Posted by Robin on 16 January 2008 10 Comments

Filles des Iles Golden FloralHardouin-Finez has added a fourth scent to their Filles des Iles collection of tropical florals.

Golden Floral is "an expressive, teasing and fascinating scent", and features notes of cedrat, star fruit, tropical breeze, passion fruit, lily, tiara, orchid, flamboyant, amber, benzoin, soft sand, musk and vanilla.

Filles des Iles Golden Floral (Floral Solaire) is available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette. (via fillesdesiles.fr)

Update: Filles des Iles Golden Floral was developed by perfumer Celine Ellena. (via b-glowing)

fffrozen surf & beach fragrancesfffrozen is a UK-based surf brand that launched last year with two new fragrances "inspired by the surfing lifestyle" and espousing ethical production methods (no animal products or rare plants, recyclable packaging from renewable sources):

fffrozen Surf for guys ~ "A very male “surfboard wax” smell, mixed with light green woody scents that capture the freshness of the sea and chilling out on the beach."

fffrozen Beach for girls ~ "Beautiful sunny days and romantic summer sunsets are reflected in this gorgeous blend of light, white-flowered muguet and warm citrus fruits."

Both scents were developed by perfumer John Stephen, and are available in 10 ml tube spray (£9.50) or in a 50 ml spray packaged with a surfer bracelet (wooden for the girls, woven leather for the guys, £19.50). Samples are available for £1 each. (via fffrozen)

I didn't even know there was surfing in the UK, nor do I know the appropriate response to Dude! except to say Dude! right back atcha ;-)

Maybe that's why they are fffrozen (wth?) cold water surfing in the UK?

*And the proper response to “Dude” is Totally, right? :)

Neither did I, but check this out:

There may be no other adequate response to “Dude!”. It just sort of hangs there by itself. I love that Budweiser commercial (I watch a lot of what I call “guy tv”, and that's about all the tv that I watch).

“fffrozen” made me laugh – picturing shivering, stuttering surfers on the beach. Apparently they surf of the coast of Cornwall (who knew?), which sounds mighty cold to me.

Its true, I've seen them surfin' in Cornwall. The main place is the beach at Bude (the dude from Bude?). However, you are much more likely to find me in the local pub sipping scrumpy cider.

Rose, of course, you're totally right!

Was wondering if there was some surf lingo connotation to fffrozen that I didn't know about…

LOL! Sounds mighty cold to me too. Of course, in San Diego, the water is pretty darned cold (for my tastes, anyway) all year round, and they surf no matter what the weather.

Thanks for that link — Wow!

You know, “surf lifestyle” is just a huge market. We've already got Roxy & Bethany Hamilton, and Kanabeach is coming, and guessing we're going to see even more.

Hey, I had to google “scrumpy”, now I know! I'm quite sure I'd rather join you in the pub than surf ;-)
