L'Artisan Parfumeur's 2007 entry in their limited edition vintage harvest series (see Fleur d'Oranger and Fleur de Narcisse) will be Iris Pallida, a powdery floral woods fragrance. As with the prior two harvest scents, the perfumer is Anne Flipo.
Iris Pallida is based on Tuscan Iris, the symbol of Florence. The notes include lily of the valley, orange blossom, Turkish rose, anise, violet leaves, cedar, vetiver, iris absolute, ambrette seed, white musk, gaïac wood and patchouli.
L'Artisan Iris Pallida launches in September, and will be available in 100 ml Eau de parfum for $295. 3000 numbered and engraved bottles will be produced. As with the past scents in the series, the outer packaging will be a wooden box, meant to evoke the presentation of vintage wines. Wow! I can't wait to smell this iris fragrance, as I quite enjoy Iris Nobile. Thank you very much for this posting and for the link to Aromascope.
We have a lovely L'Artisan corner at Ogilvy's in Montreal. I try not to go too often : the last time, I bought the Mure et musc limited edition bottle, which is so beautiful, but way too much $$$ for me!
It sounds VERY tempting, doesn't it? Too expensive for me though 🙁
This seems to be the year of the iris, R.
I wonder: Do the perfume companies get together and inaugurate a certain flower “the flower” of the year? Remember how one year the “it” flower was orange blossom? Almond fragrances were the thing a few years ago. Now iris. Interesting….
I'm thinking that the much ignored jasmine is due for a comeback, lol!
Hugs and love!
It really does seem like a big year for iris, doesn't it? So far, Prada is the only mainstream one in the mix though — will be interesting to see if it stays in the niche field otherwise.
And I'll take a jasmine comeback!!! Have a great holiday weekend R 🙂
