Break out the champagne…

Posted by Robin on 10 May 2007 11 Comments

Huge congratulations to Victoria of Bois de Jasmin, who was recently hired as a Perfumery Coordinator at International Flavors & Fragrances. According to Victoria...

My work as the coordinator for the New York Creative Center will allow me to work with the perfumers as part of my new role as well as also to continue learning and accumulating important lessons about perfumery and industry as a whole.

You can read the rest of her post here, or see the announcement at Perfumer & Flavorist. Victoria is far and away the most knowledgeable fragrance blogger I know, and I look forward to the day when I announce her first perfume.

This truly does merit breaking out the champagne. 🙂 I think they're extremely lucky to have her at IFF and I'm also very much looking forward to her first perfume.

    Let's hope it isn't a fruity floral — you listening, V?

I have been following Victoria and loving her evocative fragrance descriptions ever since old MUA days, so I am thrilled to read that she now has a position that will truly allow her to “follow her bliss”.

    Congrats to Victoria!

I do agree that she is quite knowledgeable – her blog is one of the most extensive around, packed with lots of indepth information about raw materials and notes used in perfumery.

I will miss her daily posts — they ought to give her an hour off in the afternoons so she can keep up her blog 🙂

R, thank you! I am very touched by everyone's kind wishes and support. Of course, between now and the first perfume–who knows how many years will pass… Still, it is exciting to embark on the journey. 🙂

V, just remembered that I have a vial of one of your early creations, with linden, remember? Will save it now until you get famous 🙂

I completely forgot about it! Yes, it was a blend of linden accord, violet leaf and jasmine. Maybe, also vetiver. It might grow musty by the time I am anything near famous. LOL!
