New fragrances: Henry Cotton’s, Guerlain & Betsey Johnson

Posted by Robin on 10 March 2006 11 Comments

Henry Cottons fragrance for menItalian sportswear house Henry Cotton's has launched an eponymous fragrance for men:

Dubbed simply “Henry Cotton’s”, the scent is said to embody simple elegance and refinement.

The juice opens on notes of bergamot, pepper and cassis leaves, leading to a heart of nutmeg, sage and teak. The base is a blend of woods and vetiver. (via moodiereport)

Coming from Guerlain: L'Eau Hégémonienne, a reissue of an 1890 cologne. It appears that this will be exclusive to the Paris boutique. (via petit-paris) Update: Bois d'Armenie will join the L'Art et la Matière range later this year. Also look for the reissue of Sous Le Vent, a 1933 fragrance by Jacques Guerlain; and special reissues (in the original bottles) of Habit Rouge, Muguet, and no. 68. Many thanks to ParisLondres for the news!

Thanks for the heads up about the Guerlain. I have just sent an email to Isabelle to ask her for more details. If she replies with some worthwhile information, I will pass it on.

    Hi Robin,

A friend told me about your superb blog.

First, Congratulations for your very fantastic job !

Second, just to say you that news about “L'Eau Hégémonienne” are coming from my website http://parfum-echecs.chez-alice.fr/ .

The original info is in an article of the magazine “Citizen K” International Spring 2006 (in french) with the information about “Sel de Vétiver” From The Different Company.

Apparently the Russian site likes a lot my site 😉 :

    Good continuation !

    Best regards from Monique

Can I get away from polisci? I took a break reading about hegemonic theory of stability, and here you go–posting about L'Eau Hégémonienne. Ok, just kidding. It is not the same thing 🙂

I thought Atkinsons produced (at least) their stuff, and know there were at least three scents bearing the name Henry Cotton… huh, I wonder what happened. I always thought that was kind of funny. A formerly British company transplanted to Italy producing scents for an Italian company that's named after a British golfer. It was like a strange circle had been formed, heh.

I'm hoping this new Betsey Johnson is good. The one that last came out was awfully cute, but not nearly as funky or ecclectic as her designs, which kind of bummed me out. I'll keep my fingers crossed, maybe this one will fit her aesthete better 🙂

Drat – I meant to put the “(at least)” after the “three scents.” Sorry, that makes no sense whatsoever the way I typed it.

K, I know there used to be 3 Henry Cotton scents, almost sure they are now discontinued but wouldn't put money on it.

But…didn't know there was ever a Betsey Johnson scent!
