New fragrances from Guerlain, Revlon, Desperate Housewives

Posted by Robin on 3 March 2006 10 Comments

Guerlain L'Instant d'un Ete fragranceGuerlain has launched L'Instant d'un Eté, a limited edition summer version of L'Instant. The notes include grapefruit, bitter orange, magnolia, jasmine, ylang ylang, vanilla, benzoin and musk. (via absolufeminin) As previously reported, the men's version, L’Instant d’un Été for men has "cool, frosted notes teamed with woods".

Revlon plans to re-enter the prestige fragrance market this summer. The fragrance will be called Flair, and will be represented by Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana. Update: see more on Flair here.

The rumored fragrance by Coty for the television series Desperate Housewives is now set to launch this fall. (both above via Women's Wear Daily) Update: see a review for Desperate Housewives Forbidden Fruit.

Yikes! Guerlain does not do grapefruit well. Not to mention introducing a sharp note into this soft powdery scent. Interesting. They sure have been busy little bees lately.

They do seem extra-busy this year, don't they? At the moment, though, the only thing I'm really looking forward to is the next from the Art et La Matiere line, said to be Bois d'Armenie. Neither of the two Aqua Allegorias for this year sound at all appealing to me.

Actually, I'd like to get my hands on Vetiver Sport too, but have a feeling I won't see it anywhere. The Guerlain boutique in Bergdorf Goodman had never heard of it.

I'll be in Paris in early May. Your wish is my command. Maybe this time I can actually produce for you!

R, what are the two Aqua Allegorias being released this year?

The grapefruit note in the description of L'Instant gave me the shivers – SCAAARY especially coming from Guerlain!

Paris, waah! I wanna go too. Off to pout. And think of possible purchases.

Gosh, am I the only one who loves Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Pampellune? I guess I like my grapefruit sharp!

The idea of a Desperate Housewives fragrance fills me with terror, however.

Nope, you can't be the only one. I think it is a love it or hate it kind of scent, but notice that it has outlasted the vast majority of Aqua Allegorias — many are discontinued within a year. It really doesn't work on me at all, unfortunately, it smells absolutely feral from the moment it hits my skin.

Have never seen the show, but “Desperate Housewives” is not a compelling name for a fragrance. Maybe they'll give it another name.

Where can I find the new L'Instant d'un Ete in the USA or online where I can get it delivered to USA?

    Thanks

I haven't seen it yet, but i really haven't been looking. You might try calling the Guerlain boutique at Bergdorf Goodman in NY, they seem to get all the Guerlains before any other store in the US. Short of that, the Guerlain boutique in Paris will ship — I think you can find their number on the website (www.guerlain.com)
