Scented credit cards & other perfume news

Posted by Robin on 6 December 2005 4 Comments

The first scented credit card has been released in Japan. Now you can watch your money go accompanied by "upbeat citrus notes of mandarin, grapefruit and lemon." (via jcn newswire)

Thanks to Anya for this link to an article about natural perfumer Isabella Aurel (link no longer working, sorry!) in the Monterey County Weekly.

Style.com has a round-up of fragrance "keepsake bottles" for the holidays. Check out the Chinese dragon bottle for Estee Lauder Beautiful.

Ooooh. I would almost start wearing Beautiful just to get that bottle.

Agree, T! It is actually struck me as a rather odd bottle for that particular scent.

It sure is! Quite a disconnect with the images of serene brides seen in the ads for Beautiful. This bottle reminds me of the striking bottle Niki de Saint Phalle created for her signature fragrance. And of course it would be appropriate for Cartier's Le Baiser du Dragon!

My favorite is the Lalique Dans la Nuit bottle; love the crescent moon on the stopper. But I'm not shelling out 1,800 smackers for it, especially when I already have a (clear) R. Lalique stars bottle filled with vintage Je Reviens.

N, the original NdSP bottle with the snakes intertwined above the cap (instead of just painted on the bottle, or embossed on the cap itself, as I see in the more recent bottles) is one of my very favorites. In that case it was more in tune with the juice itself.

That Lalique is stunning. Not paying 1,800 for it either :-)
